One of your best series of nosing notes on this one. Makes me feel like I'm having the whisky with you. Nicely done sir.

Great review, Jim. You reminded me that I still need to find this one. I do keep the 15 in the cabinet at all times-- a real favorite. I'm sure I will love this when I can find it for a fair price. I can only imagine how rich this would be at cask strength. I feel LL and GS are two of the best quality/value producing distilleries out there. Thanks.

Thank you Bud. Yeah I totally agree. The price and quality are incredible. Long may it last.

'Tis a quare dram indeed Jim. It keeps on giving. If you ever go missing, Cambeltown will be the first place to check!! Cheers mate and thanks for the mentions.

Have not tried this Glen Scotia. It was on the bucketlist, but only written with pencil, so to speak. With your review it's written with pen. So, thanks for making the bucketlist longer again, Jim.
And agree with your generalizing point on Campbeltown whisky: have not had a bad one myself as well.

Agreed on all points in this review Jim. I haven't had a Glen Scotia that I didn't like, and Victoriana is up at the top of what I like from them. My bottle is 51.1% ABV, but we also got an extra 50 ml. There is also a "Mit farbstoff" statement on the back of the bottle, so they've added E150. It goes for $145-$155 CDN here in Alberta, but that's worth it to me. It has a permanent spot in my whisky cupboard.

This one and the 15 are my favourites from them. Big Al loved it, Ralfy loved it, it's a lovely bottle and worth the money all day long. Great review as usual Jim.

Another excellent review Jim ❤️. This has been in the top 10 of my “have to buy/try” list but just jumped a bunch of places after watching your review 🙏. Thanks so much my friend as you have never steered me wrong on discovering a good whisky 🥃. Cheers 🙂

Jim, I'm so excited! Whilst Glen Scotia is like hen's teeth here in Ontario, it is available in QC, just over the river from me! Hurrah! I never knew. :). I will now be able to see what your excitement is all about. :)

Such an excellent conversation with an obviously amazing whisky. Thanks and I am glad, as always for the choice, as the Victoriana is not here, but I have seen the Nadurra before. Take care!

Thanks Jon. It's a genuine shame that these whiskys aren't available worldwide. I review them, as I'm sure do you, with the view in my mind that everyone will have some sort of access to them.
I know they may not have the capacity or reach but....hopefully one day.
      Cheers my friend.

My bottle is already empty (the previous batch at 51,5%), but I have fond memories...

  • @greigmartin4339

Had the 51.5% bottle. Reminded me of my long gone grandad and his tool shed. Dirt floors, old engine oil, sawdust. Black currant fishermen’s friend on the palate.

Sounds lovely Greig. To some, those things might sound awful but I love that dirty, dusty, funky stuff. To me, that smells and tastes like it's been created by experience.
      Cheers mate.

@Whiskey Novice Campbeltown whisky seems to be able to take me back to those times and places. My grandparents were old fashioned types and she used to make a dessert pie using raisins, currants sultanas and the like and called it “flies graveyard” sounds disgusting but its proper old school, rustic cooking and it appeared to me in sherried Springbanks like the 15 and Longrow 18. Then the Victoriana came along and did that to me. I love Islay but Campbeltown is the peak of scotch for me, it doesn’t get better.

@@greigmartin4339 Flys Graveyard 😄😄 love it.
I know exactly what you mean. My grandfather fixed watches and clocks in his wee pensioners bungalow. I was 10 when he died but I can still remember the smell of oil and grime around his table. It was class.

Top review there Jim. Had a sample and fell hard for the Victoriana, luckily grabbed a bottle in the high £40s. Not had a bad Glen Scotia to be fair though. Great series mate 🥃
