I like how the gods all look normal and than Hades looks like something out from Resident Evil
Hades was never represented accurately in media, he is either a scary looking demon or a young dark emo (doesn't even have a beard wtf?) .... I know games/movies/stories based on mythology shouldn't be limited by it ,but wouldn't it be nice to see a mythologically accurate hades for once ? Well atleast this one has his infamous helm of darkness which many other incarnations of him seem to abandon despite it being a sympol of him

This is one of the best opening cutscenes in video game history. It shows that Kratos isn’t the whole world, he is a part of it. The amazing visuals, fluid motions, and designs are what amazes me to this day. You can see they really put time into this. Also, the coloring is amazing.

I hope we get more visions of Kratos' pasts in Helheim if we go back, especially if we get to meet Hel since technically she is Kratos' grandaughter and also the equivalent to Hades so she'd probably have an idea of how many Kratos has killed. Imagine having to fight her (but not kill her) and during the fight you hear younger Kratos or you have to run-through Helheim and you pass by or even through all these visions of Kratos killing the gods to get to your son. That would be so badass and hilarious if Atreus just cringes at Kratos shouting "ZEUS. YOUR SON HAS RETURNED. I BRING ABOUT THE END OF OLYMPUS!!" and just giving his dad the side eye like wow He thought HE was cocky in the last game with Modi 🤣
Are we not gonna talk about how powerful Poseidon was? He straight up dove through the body of a titan made out of rock and killed it in seconds.
Poseidon is actually one of my favourite gods in Greek Mythology, second only to Hades.

Hermes is the most useless thing in this game XD Me and my friend always make fun of the Titans for being so seemingly weak and useless and we just say "Their just big ,nothing more" but Hermes is the most useless of all the God's and I love to make fun of him for it
At one part, when Kratos is climbing the mountain, it does show Hades in the background, pulling one of the titans back down to the bottom. Other than that, you don't get to see him again until you fight him of course.

Scandinavia, on the other hand, is located very close to the arctic circle so rather than wasting their time mining, they build settlements in strategic locations using the materials most accessible to them, which is wood and stone and instead spend the 4-5 months of nice weather they do get to prepare for the grueling winters.

The gods when they saw the titans must have been like, “oh man not this again...”. But evidently the Greek gods grew much stronger with age, as u can see how easily Poseidon handled the Titans.

This is the best storytelling ever….as a kid I read ALL these stories hundreds of times but to see them brought to life with such excellence is breathtaking……the developers really cared about this game and the fan base
I remember when I first got this game for the PS3 the day came out, I finished God of War 2 the day before and I was so hyped for this game, and going from the graphics of GOW 2 to part 3 was absolutely insane and this game blew my mind!!! And the fact that this game lived up and exceeded the hype that part 2 brought is something that I'll never forget. one of the greatest game series ever.
The best part of the beginning is when Zues says
"Petulant Child. I will tolerate your insolence no MORE!" and flys up causing lightning and thunder.

After realizing that the gods personalities were changed by the kratos opening the box in the first game, I almost feel bad for them lol.
They were still awful, before Kratos even pledged to Ares, they used mortals as pawns to have a game, like giving their champion's village stillborns or poisoning them, just to see which champion would win.

I think the cinematics were great but Kratos was at his worst as a character and almost mindlessly evil.
@@BlackWingedSeraphX all the events throughout the games led him to become mindlessly evil, and even so at the end, he wasn't really that evil.
I will always wonder why in almost every modern depiction of Greek mythology they made Hades look so creepy. He was actually the nicest of the three brothers and was even a merciful and fair God.

@bloodhoundo9320 I'm nearly convinced God of war 3 was a rushed game. The lack of boss fights is palpable and the story wasn't good imo

Is kinda sad how epic and big in scale this series used to be, everything in the new games feel small as hell, heck just compare Olympus with Asgard.
I don't care what anyone says these new gow games don't come close to the epicness that was Olympus and pure badassery that was on display and not to mention the amount of bad guys on screen where as the new ones have 3 maybe 4? C'mon not even a contest

Yea I hear ya. But you got to remember that this was THE end of the Greek chapter so they could go all put with this one. Remember that ascension came out and nearly killed the franchise. GOW 4 was a good reset

@@rover5058 I know I'm in the minority and its just my opinion but God of War (2018) and Ragnarok's combat just felt stale and repetitive. The story was incredible but I would rather watch it on RUclips than slog through some of those sequences
It's nice to see Zeus, Poseidon and Hades getting along and not being at each other's throats for once.
I loved this scene , need more like it in games - it shows originally how powerful they all are and how high in the ranks they’re - makes it more satisfying and amazing when kratos beats them , one man ...
