I just remember going nuts over this game in my basement. My dad came downstairs yellin to quiet down. This was a great time to watch NBA basketball. Everyone always talks about the 90s but all of a sudden this decade is feeling nostalgic and I’m realizing how fun some of these teams were. Especially these suns teams. Watch the end where Nash post game interview he takes the high road. The guy was clearly trying to egg him on to bash Dallas for trading him. But Nash class act. The suns should have won it all in 2007. But the refs screwed them when they played the spurs. Shameful. Oh well. At least nowadays we know who will win the championship before the season even begins. How exciting !!!! !!!

Late-2000s added more contenders, Celtics big 3, Kobe/Pau's Lakers, Melo's Nuggets, Lebron's Cavs, Dwight's Magic, T-Mac/Yao's Roclets, all have legitimate chance at the championship. A lot of tight series in the playoffs and you never know who will win, best age of basketball.

TP3HQ Yes but compared to 19 and 12 in Phoenix, that's somewhat of a frop off. Aldo, there are things the numbers can't show you. He was just so much more effective as he was used in Phoenix. He needed to dominate the ball and completely control the offense to reach his full potential. That likely never would have happened in Dallas with Dirk.

So we know about 2011 but they could’ve won in 2006 too, and rivaled The Lakers and Spurs every year in between for dominance in the west. And in 2006 the Mavs won 67 games! While the Suns won 61 so if Nash stayed in Dallas is it so crazy to think that the Mavs could’ve beat the bulls record 72-10? Is it SO crazy to believe that. These two were combined 3x MVPs in 05, 06, 07. and Nash helped the Suns from 29 wins in 2004 to 62 in 2005 so to me there is a case

I understand the 3rd best player of that Lakers roster is Smush Parker and Kobe led the league in scoring (35.4 pts), however, they finished just 6th in the Western Conference.
What did he do better than Lebron that season? Cavaliers roster is not massively better than the Lakers roster and they were led by a 3rd-year, 20 year-old kid, averaging 31.4 pts, 7 rebs, 6.6 ast at 48% FG pctg.

Nash deserved to be MVP. Yes, his defense was pretty much non-existent; but he was an excellent and highly efficient shooter, one of the best and most creative passers of all time, could come up in the clutch and unlike Shaq & Kobe he mad his teammates better. While those 2 let their egos separate them and stop them from being the greatest duo of all time, Nash was making nominal players look decent and bringing Don Nelson's Run-n-Gun game back!

He didn't deserve it in 05-06. Kobe had a far worse team and he made them look decent. If there was a G league ball then they would have been sent down. Kobe and Shaq has nothing to do with these seasons so I don't know why you brought it up.

People forget but Dirk had one of the best post games of the 2000's. Most people remember the one legged fadeaway, but that guy had multiple ways to kill an opponent in the post. And in his prime he was quick enough to drive past them too. He was a KILLER on the court.
