Do you use your AC? If so you’re gonna wanna hook up the “Idle up” switch. Basically when your AC is on, the secondary idle screw on the side of the intake becomes your “idle” control and it’s usually set 200-300 RPM’s higher than idle without AC. Make sense?
I have mine running with all vacuums whatever it came with due to smog. It runs great but these motors will never be extremely smooth as the 2rz/3rz the 22re doesn’t have a balance shaft it’s always going to be a little shaky/have vibration you can do a simple tune up and raise the idle to 950 and it runs good. I’ve done more than just a simple tune up even have a cam decided to go with a larger cam that isn’t choppy and has a nice idle and I love it so fsr

I agree, the imbalance makes them balanced 🤷🏻♂️
😂 Had one, Best engines,🤠🙂
If only it was faster!!
My 22re doest run smooth but it'll run for 20 more years
For real, it’s like there is no killing it
