I can't tell you how many hours I spent on the emissions system on my old YJ. If I had seen this before getting into that mess I would likely deleted it all too. My only concern would be the catalytic converter fouling up. It seems like a hotter cat would be a happier cat. Rock on David!
@@freemaysin5088 No doubt...I could have done it on my YJ since it was a '90, but should have started off that way before getting invested in the parts and time. Would have run a lot better too.
@@melodicdreamer72 alot of people have stuff to say about it, and it MAY not be the most economical choice, but i have a catch can with a breather filter on it and it collects alot of blowby, and i very very rarely have visible exhaust gas.
Thank you for all the info, may i ask why LCE sux? lol i have a 1989 that ive had and not done anything to it yet, they were on my list of vendors to try, do you have any other vendors that you reccomend ?
As I understand it, emission tests are factored into what is known as a "fleet rating" meaning it's multiplied over thousands of vehicles to arrive at a total %. So, the amount you may notice if at all will most likely be insufficient.
My concern about EGR removal. When an EGR valve or solenoid is not working it creates a spark knock in the engine. This has been my experience with 2.2 GM Multi port fuel injection engines. Not sure if yours will have the same result.
I'd be interested in the test results as well as I've always thought about that myself. The block off plate addition looks great as well....lol This 1 was very informative great job as always..
I like your vid but Can you go thru the vac lines? Mine is a 22r carbie deleted egr and the exhaust injection cause they were causing issues at idle some time would run just fine some times would just die at lights
I have a 1980 in CA and have to pass smog, so I need all parts in place every two years. I plan on simply cutting out a thin piece of sheet metal to stop the flow of exhaust through the EGR to protect it so it's in good shape when I do need smog. As I'm typing this it occurs to me that I only really need to loosen the egr and slip a blocking sheet, tighten it back up and leave everything else alone. Any thoughts? I have a hybrid 22r block and 20R head and I somehow managed to pass smog every year since 1989... with all the EGR leak headaches of course. My EGRs are past end-of-life so I need to preserve them.
Actually I had forgotten. They reached out and said they appreciated me showcasing their products. They said "Contact us for a discount on your next order ". I did that and called on the phone ad the dude was pretty rude and finally said well I guess we can give you a 5% discount and told me the guy that contacted me was "busy". After placing the order, the 2 days later they advertised 10% off everything in the store - which made me mad as they sure could have give me at least the sale price. Their products are outstanding I would say. It wasn't worth my time calling back and asking for the additional 5%.
Would love to know why you don’t like LCE, I was planning on buying their kits for headers, egr delete, and air injection delete. are they not a good company? should I consider other options?
As someone who rebuilt my 22re I can attest that it's not totally useless, the EGR REALLY fouls up your intake plenum and manifold and the argument could be made it reduces the life of the motor
@@RedneckGarage Been gone in Texas for a long time. Gotta do a head gasket replacement this weekend, so all that crap is coming off. Just ordered the plates from YotaShop!

yup LOL
Love the way you don't hold back on your thoughts about certain vendors. It's great---it help all of us.
Thank you Allen !
Great info, Dave. Loved the “customized lettering” on the block off plate. 😂
hahahaha LOL me too :)

I think that would be correct - the hotter the better lol
ez answer, ditch the cat!

We shall see - from my research that is not a problem with the 22re

Can i ask whats against LCE? I just got an 89 and all i hesr about is LCE. Seemed reliable?
Have you had it tested yet would like to know the results

That should work fine as long as they arent that strict on smog tests.
It’s been a week I thought you’d be driving it by now
Will you have it running for July 4th?? Keep the videos coming Dave!!
I'm sure hoping it's running lol
Just curious... Why do you think LCE sucks?

Just bought one of these old trucks and its a 93 with fuel injection. Can I still do this? Or do I need to have to tuned by a shop first?
you can do it on the 22re
The EGR reintroduces exhaust gas to lower combustion temps so less NOx is produced.
Would love to know why you don’t like LCE, I was planning on buying their kits for headers, egr delete, and air injection delete. are they not a good company? should I consider other options?
Are you using the stock 2bbl carburetor or a Webber?
No increase in performance and throwing needless garbage in the environment. Great job!!

Keep it up Brother
Thanks MT !!
Did you ever do a smog test to see if it will pass?
still workin on it but they got rid of that requirement in TN

Where did you source the covers and plates?
Hi whats is the number kits
good video
Yer a hoot dude
It’s commyfornia
Hahaha when you throw the Modulator at your camera
u wont get ur classic plates without the original "RADIO" LOL
Most people will see absolutely no benefit from doing this. Research it yourself
fewer parts, fewer things to crap out on a 30+ year old vehicle. It's just logical.
Dave, you are polluting the environment by taking all of that crap off.😂😂😂😂
Oh I wont drive it then .... hahahahaha
I absolutely hate “Let’s Charge Extra” and their crazy price gouging for shit from china, I always call Jim at 22re performance when I need anything.😊
Thanks!
