@@donutviper1 It's a really weird story. When auditioning for The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, the voice actors were specifically told NOT to do impressions of the actors from the movie. (Maurice LaMarche did an impression of Harold Ramis anyway, though, since he said he didn't know what else to do.) Ernie Hudson actually auditioned to reprise his role as Winston but Arsenio Hall was hired instead. For whatever reason, the people making the cartoon REALLY didn't want them to sound like the actors from the movie.* So later on, Bill Murray sees the cartoon and remarks that the guy playing his character doesn't sound anything like him. So the guy who was famous for voicing Garfield and was instructed not to do a Bill Murray impression was fired because he didn't sound enough like Bill Murray, the guy who would end up voicing Garfield in the movies. (I'm not sure if Murray demanded Music be fired, or if someone just overreacted to Murray's observation.) * I think it may have had something to do with avoiding paying extra money for likeness rights or something like that. Also, one episode of the cartoon establishes that the Ghostbusters movie is a movie that is based on the guys from the cartoon, and Murray, Aykroyd, and Ramis are mentioned as the names of actors playing them in the movie. The Real Ghostbusters attend the premiere of the movie at the episode, and a clip from the movie is played (in which you don't actually see the actors faces), albeit with the audio replaced and yet another actor saying Bill Murray's lines.

Yeah, he's too happy.
So not my Garfield, nothing compares to Lorenzo Music & Frank Welker version
@@annafowdy Yeah, that's the big problem about Chris Pratt. He's not depressed/lazy enough voicing Garfield 😂🤣
I prefer Frank Welker's voice as Garfield as I grew up watching the Garfield Show. He pretty much made my childhood...
Lorenzo Music, Bill Murray and Frank Welker and Christ Pratt are perfect voices.
Scott beach did a good job as the first voice of garf
Only for 1980
Lorenzo Music and Frank Welker are the best Garfield voices imo.
I think two great Ghostbusters did Garfield's voice: Frank Welker and of course, Lorenzo Music! I have to say, the latter was the greatest ever! Also, I believe Bill Murray did the voice to show that Music was a good choice for voicing Peter Venkman.
Murray actually got Music fired from The Real Ghostbusters. Music was fired after Murray made a comment about they guy playing him in the cartoon not sounding anything like him. I don't know if Murray actually requested a casting change, or if he just made a simple comment and someone else overreacted to it.
The reason Murray agreed to be in the Garfield movie was because he mistakenly thought writer Joel Cohen was Joel Coen of the Coen Brothers. (And looking this up on IMDb, the composer of the Garfield movie was yet another guy named Joel Cohen.)
Lorenzo music’s Garfield kinda sounds like Jim Morrison lmao
Chris Pratt has been confirmed to voice Garfield in a new CG animated movie from Sony Pictures
I don’t know why Sony’s distributing it because
Viacom/Nickelodeon has owned the Garfield rights since they purchased Paws inc in August 2019
I think the reason why the new movie is being distributed by Sony might to be because the movie was announced and entered production before Nickelodeon's acquirement. It is still strange.
@@MikesTOONTOWN Oh yeah
I remember it was announced all the way back in 2016
I’m so dumbfounded
Still though I have high hopes for this CG animated Garfield movie
@@lachlancalderwashere301 Me too but Chris Pratt as Garfield seems crazy
Tom Smothers still has a better Garfield voice than Chris Pratt
Frank Welker and Lorenzo Music are the best imo
in my opinion I just like Frank Welkers voice the best, its calm, funny, warm and iconic to me.
Needs an update date for Chris Pratt, lol.
I think it's funny that Bill Murray didn't like Lorenzo Music casted as Peter Venkman for the ghostbusters cartoon since he said he sounded too much like Garfield when 20 years later.. Murray would play Garfield
Frank Welker was my Garfield due to the Garfield Show
Frank, Lorenzo, and bill Murray are my trio of top Garfield voices
