Couple of fun facts about movie shooting : Before it was even shoot , every actor had to go to the boot camp, expect the Jesse Ventura who was a Navy Frogman aka Navy Seal. The whole cast was falling from exhaustion down in Mexico, but not Jesse who got used to this kind of climate in Vitenam. You know you are a certified badass when you have more combat experience than weapon instructor. Here is another one from Jesse Ventura himself : Jesse in his interview mentioned that he loved to play mindgames with Arnold by showing up 10 mins before him in the gym, and Jesse would just damp his t-shirt in the water so It would look like he was there from 5AM. When Arnold saw Jesse before him in the gym, he started getting up at 4:30AM.
11:04 another important factor that definitely lead to JCVD's firing, is he tried to get fired on purpose. He secretly signed a 3 picture deal with Cannon Films during the filming of Predator.
I can't help to wonder, still after all these years. What happened to John McTiernan? I mean He was one of the best if not the best action directors of his time.

The stuntman broke his legs just as Jean C V Dam said it will happen ..
Couple of fun facts about movie shooting :
Before it was even shoot , every actor had to go to the boot camp, expect the Jesse Ventura who was a Navy Frogman aka Navy Seal. The whole cast was falling from exhaustion down in Mexico, but not Jesse who got used to this kind of climate in Vitenam. You know you are a certified badass when you have more combat experience than weapon instructor.
Here is another one from Jesse Ventura himself :
Jesse in his interview mentioned that he loved to play mindgames with Arnold by showing up 10 mins before him in the gym, and Jesse would just damp his t-shirt in the water so It would look like he was there from 5AM. When Arnold saw Jesse before him in the gym, he started getting up at 4:30AM.
I heard about that to. I also heard some cast would only eat canned food from home.
11:04 another important factor that definitely lead to JCVD's firing, is he tried to get fired on purpose. He secretly signed a 3 picture deal with Cannon Films during the filming of Predator.
I cant wait for all the GET TO DA CHOPPA jokes
Me too ,😆🤣😎🐼
Watch killing Gunther.... you’ll appreciate the end fight scene
The best Arnie movie and the only challenger to Die Hard
You cannot beat the 1980's for horror and action films. Spent a lot of time in theaters during my Navy days.👍
I can't help to wonder, still after all these years. What happened to John McTiernan? I mean He was one of the best if not the best action directors of his time.
Went to jail bruh
@@southlondon86 Yeah. You are right and I deffienitely should google this stuff out more.
"Me too, mine's as big as a house!"
Big As a house.
haha
They should remaster this Movie.
Easily the greatest movie ever made
One of the best Christmas buddy comedies ever!
Such a great movie. I like the extra Rocky IV connection in Carl Weathers' character dying to the technologically superior foe before being avenged by the protagonist.
If this film is not in your top 3 you're probably someone I would never care to meet.
Terminator 2 should be in top 3.
ABSOLUTETLY 1 OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES EVER !!!!
Watching these Joblo WTF videos will turn you into a sexual tyrannosaurus.
Lol, good one. Some great lines in this movie.
Like me
Shove that up uour sore ass ! - a nice comeback line.
A "God-damned sexual Tyrannosaurus" I believe. ;)
10as of millions of dollars for the movie, Couldn't buy proper water filters or food lol
i've always loved this movie an always will felt bad for the cast for their hardships but then without it we wouldn't have had such a great film for generations to enjoy.
One of my all-time favorite films. And...another great JoBlo video. :-)
Definitely make a WTF Happened to this Movie for The Predator(2018). Apparently the original script was a lot different and they also reshot the climax. There's a lot to unpack with that movie.
Yeah, was kind of let down with that version
@@leogetz3570 thought we'd be in good hands with Shane Black
A bona fide CLASSIC. What a movie.
Did anyone else see killing Gunther?
The end fight is a hilarious homage to Predator... laughed so hard, i had tears in my eyes...
Got this on vhs, udm, dvd, bluray and 3d bluray. (Still want the laserdisk). Can watch it with joy now and tomorrow again
Jesse Ventura, still a badass ❤
He was a porn star in the 70s.
This movie is a timeless masterpiece. Never gets old. Way too advanced for it's time!
Thanks for this video, it is very well documented.
“Stick around.”
allthingsclassicrock
One of the few films I never grow tired of. Between owning it on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, and seeing it on cable I couldn’t begin to count the number of times of I’ve watched it.
Yeessss! I had a feeling that you were going to tackle this movie.
Kevin was the perfect Predator. I love how gracefully he moved, especially is hands and fingers when doing certain actions. After Predator 2, the guys in the suits lost that gracefulness.
God this movie is just a diamond
'I ain't got time to bleed'... 'you got time to duck'???
Quack!
Man, it’s dialogue like this that made a movie a movie
@@estellemelodimitchell8259 when I saw your comment notification I already knew what quote it was. Although sexual tyrannosaurus does come in a close second. Then there's the classic, get to the choppah!
"I AIN'T GOT TIME TO BLEED !" that line gets me every time :D
One of my favourite films of all time :-)
One of the few praising critics back then was good old Roger Ebert. One time again he understood the material.
I remember that summer the WWF was pushing this movie because of Jesse Ventura
I don't know how you can do an analysis of this movie without talking about the soundtrack. Which is fucking amazing....
I'd say the same thing that happened to the Terminator Franchise happened to this franchise. 1st and 2nd terminators were amazing but anything from the 3rd on was really bad, and the same thing happened to Predator with the exception of only the first movie was amazing, from the second one on the franchise kept downgrading. It does not have much to do with this video but I just laid it here.
Predator is easily the most re-watchable movie of all time. It might not literally be the best film ever made (however much it pains to admit it) but if I had to chose only one film I could watch for the rest of my life, it would be Predator without hesitation.
Best SC FI action thriller of all time. The music and the monster too notch.
Thanks for this great video. Now I know why Arnold had all of his food and water imported from the US while filming "Total Recall", which was also done in Mexico.
All-time favorite movie when growing up & still is👍. Commandos pretty close though 😉
7:27 - Awsome timing with the bumm-clap soun in music and Vandame doing the hand push and clap! :D
I've been waiting for this for a while now. This is my number one Arnold Schwarzenegger movie! Next time do a video on JURASSIC PARK 3 on WTF HAPPENED TO THIS MOVIE?
Mr. Van still today regrets his refusal to participate in this movie. Unforgivable mistake for him and the rest of his life.
It's so cool that Schwarzenegger recommended him because he said the guy was very talented when he was working on Terminator. Like that even while acting and making himself the focus, he was still capable and blown away at a technical portion of filmmaking
They don't make films like this anymore. No crappy CGI, just realistic sets and ingenious special effects
"Predator" is my all time movie favorites. Thanks for the behind the scenes moment. It was truly enlightening.
The initial negative reviews show that movie critics are losers. Time is on this movie’s side. Predator wins. Film critics lose.
Timeless
0:53 Sooo...John Rambo was there?
11:40 the story about Cameron suggesting Winston use mandibles left out the part Winston told Cameron to "mind his own business, that this was McTiernan's/Winston's alien to design, not Cameron's" (though the idea of mandibles obviously stuck w/ Winston).
Where did you hear that? Sounds like bullshit as Winston & Cameron were friends so I couldn’t imagine the convo going down that route.
@@southlondon86 It was on AFI's 100 Greatest Sci-Fi Films.
CGH Oh wow. Did they say if it was said in jest or seriousness?
@@southlondon86 Well, both. He said Cameron should mind his own business but chuckled at the end of his recollection.
The 80's was so good for Action Movies. Predator, Aliens, Robocop, Commando, Total Recall, Rambo, Rocky, the list goes on and on, such a good decade for cinema. Now, it has been over two decades of super hero movies all with the same script.
Nothing happened to it, it worked out perfectly and has barely been surpassed as an action movie. Leave it alone.
Great freakin video, man. Keep up the good work!
