Mock report about Canadians answering basic knowledge questions... Can they do better than Americans? (Reference - Journalist Julian Morrow's report for CNNNN)
Gonzo de Gregorio It was in Quebec. Quebec is different from Canada since it is French but also, because people are educated slightly differently to the French/France history.
"My country's better than yours" arguments are a waste. This video was done in good humor, and it's a smart follow-up to the original. Smart and dumb people inhabit both countries, and editing make both videos funny.
That is the only "normal" question... He was a famous diplomat for Ghana, and it isn't bad if you don't know that, however, it was the most intelligent question she asked...
As an Australian living in Canada I have had to discard my past prejudices about the U.S because I realised after travelling there that Canadians are actually far more ignorant about the rest of the world. Never once did I travel to the states and get asked 9/10 times like in Can, which part of England am I from? Or my favorite.."oh you're from New Zealand" I love koala bears. Canadian are great people but in general I've found the culture here bland and the people nice but incurious.
Just like the American videos, unshown people could have given correct answers and all they had to do was edit them out. You can learn a lot from these videos, though.
I am Canadian and I knew every question and could explain more behind my answer! This is the basic of basic knowledge that we should know. I know for a fact that we are smarter than that. She either looked for those people or told them what to say.
***** that guy is a comedian , have a look at the map he had them putting pins in then have a look at a real world map . Australia where he is from was marked as Iran France and Korea
+LaQueesha Williams This isnt nearly as bad as this one video some Australian guy did. First off, a lot of these questions were harder than the other video i am referring to (i can link, or if your interested search youtube for "are Americans stupid"). Second; some of the dumbest responses even came from a guy that said he was American and to finish it off, less people were asked, and more people got them right compared to the interview that the Australian guy did. Its just true, Canada has a better education system than the US. That doesnt go without saying that all are dumb, or that there aren't some incredibly smart americans, its just that due to a larger population and a less effective education system people will think that "Americans are stupid".
All the uneducated, stupid comments are Americans because they cannot defend they're own country, because nothing makes it better, except it's cheap shopping prices and it's warm places that then become garbage because people cannot take care of the environment around them.
like they do in america there is stupid people everywhere it just not in english starting with my country there are whole a lot of videos just translate stupid people of a specific country and many videos will show up
If anyone's confused of why she said Kanata it's because Kanata was a tribe in Canada and a French explorer found the tribe and thought that they were talking about the country and called the land Canada
I don't think it's fair that she tried to insult Canadians by interviewing an American. I'm 15 and i could answer all of those questions (except the koffi one). The education system has evolved a lot for both countries so i think she should ask more people of different ages to make it less bias. I'm not going to hate on American's for being idiots because Canada has their own stereotypes as well. I've never lived in America and i'm sure there are some idiots (as in every country), but it actually is one the smartest countries in the world. And no, not all us Canadians live in igloos and drink maple syrup (some do :D) but you can't blame Americans for thinking that, they probably don't learn about Canadian culture in school because it is similar to their own in many ways. P.S... Americans, do you learn anything about Canada? I would like to know because in Canada we don't learn a lot about your country in school, but a lot of people just know because it's common knowledge. If you made it this far... Thanks for reading.
You realize they edit these videos, right? They edit out correct answers from the US too. They make it funny. Did you also realize that literally no one thinks Canadians live in Igloos and drink maple syrup? I think the fact that you think all Americans are dumb and that it’s an “insult” to compare them to Canadians proves that you are pretty ignorant. Also condescending, arrogant and rude.
ColeChapman205 Yes, you know, like beauty pageant contestants. They might not that dumb on real life, but they are put on spot, they just mess up real bad...
Honestly, what's the difference between the two? We argue like siblings, even though it sounds like we are going to kill each other. For heavens sake Canada isn't Mexico. Why can't we all just get along? Other than America's stupid government and craziness were the same thing.
No no no. Canada is an enlightened nation and is part of the rest of the developed world.. America, on the other hand, is like your big dumb brother your mom makes you take everywhere, that dribbles and has to wear a padded helmet.
It seemed to me that there were far more here that got questions right than wrong unlike the CNN one. Fortunately, we already do have some real data in on this sort of thing. Harvard completed a study in 212. Worldwide, the US ranks 17th in the world for public eduction. Canada? 4th. I'm envious of Finland which fights in a weird 3 way tie in averages with South Korea and China. Finnish students have no homework, students can speak up to 4 languages and they are out of high school by 16. And that only scratches the surface. Excellent education system. Totally envious. We should steal it. :)
You can't fool me. Harvard couldn't have ranked the U.S.A 17th in the world in public education in the year 212 because Harvard wouldn't even be founded for more than 1,400 years! Not to mention the U.S.A. or Canada, which is why I didn't mention them. Think I was born yesterday? No sir.
AbleReason It's true. He meant 2012...the ranking part i don't think Harvard ranked, i think it was the results from all American (students) taken. We Canadians actually care about other countries and don't think we are the best like you Americans do, even though...YOU'RE CLEARLY NOT!
like they do in america there is stupid people everywhere it just not in english starting with my country there are whole a lot of videos just translate stupid people of a specific country and many videos will show up
Yep, I'm Canadian and I concur...Canadians are no better informed than Americans! Although we generally think we are. P.S. I would have answered all of those questions correctly, and easily! Although I don't think that is an accurate measure of a person's intelligence. Real intelliegence is in common sense, not in the accumulation of facts.
In North America Ego,Arrogance and money are the dominant factors of people because most of people are brainwashed but this is their own world and we must respect that.
By your logic, only true Canadians are the first nations then. That makes you a jack-ass Canadian which you already are. By the way, average education level among the immigrants are much higher than those who were born in Canada (according to Canada stats), so quite the contrary, it'd be much better to ask more immigrants to make Canada look smarter.
jackjj99 You can't even type a good sentence in English and it seems that you are sick. I sincerely hope that there is someone who loves you and will take care of you.
Lol Canadians are way smarter than Americans the main guy who was getting all the questions wrong even said he was from the USA, and the Americans from the original video didn't get any of the question right.
Exactly what I was thinking. You would have to look HARD to find people that would actually get these questions wrong. Most 12 year olds wouldn't have gotten those questions wrong...
Look at the vehicles in the background approaching the camera. None of them have license plates. By law in Canada, license plates must be affixed to both the front and back of vehicles. Where was this video shot, when was it shot. A journalist would supply the 5Ws as part of his/her reporting.
This was shot in Quebec. You can see French writing on a sign behind the cute French Canadian girl, one of the guys was wearing a Habs jersey, and, of course, the license plate issue. Also, BC requires license plates both in the back and front, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec are the only ones I know of for sure that don't require front plates. One a side note, it's funny how the dumbest person interviewed wasn't even Canadian haha.
Americans fall short of everyone else when it comes to meaningful issues pertained to the world we all live in. Canadians are actually intellectual and better cultured than Americans in my experience. Especially in terms of the understanding of political matters where Religion is certainly most included in the modern times today. I was able to talk about politics, religion, fashion and what not in Canada where as most of my conversations would be completely misunderstood by Americans by a long chalk, because it has in the past all the time. I am from Britain , I have been to Canada and really enjoyed my time their; meeting new people and having fun times. Fashion is awesome in Canada and so are the people! I have made a few mates for life over their and currently keep in touch with them through social networking but I cannot wait to see them again in Vancouver next year !
Americans don’t know how many kidneys a person has or who was the first man on the moon, but they know who their enemies are and where their fried chicken comes from.
It should be important to everyone. Not understanding the RELEVANCE of things like geography, current affairs or even history is a sure sign of a lack of intelligence - even if not knowing the actual facts isn't.
I knew all of those answers and I'm not out of highschool... Those people should know... Plus one guy wasn't even canadian, so how do we know any of them were
Some trivia about KFC which you can tell your friends next time you go to a party: In Germany some people say "Kentucky schreit ficken." (pronunciation. "Kentucky shrite ficken") which means "Kentucky screams f**** " (It's a pun) ;) So you just have to switch the positions of the "f" and the "ch" (and pronounce it as a "sh") and then you can proudly say that you know one complete sentence in German ;)

Confused as to why they keep asking that black guy once he said he was from America...
Well to contaminate Canadian survey and put Canadian in same league as the US.
The world is.dumb
Gonzo de Gregorio It was in Quebec. Quebec is different from Canada since it is French but also, because people are educated slightly differently to the French/France history.
I'm 11 and smarter than them
I'm 12 and I knew all their questions
well... one guy who couldn't answer anything... (including KFC), admitted he was from the USA. So... what does this mean?
It means he is probably dealing drugs in Canada. He sure in heck isn't here for his intellect. lol
Oh! Oh! Wait a minute! I know the answer to this one!

even more funny, giving comment on America and Canada while being irrelevant
Why don't they ask Europeans these questions and stop giving North America shit?
Because it's not funny to hear the right answers XD Just kidding there are also dumb people in Europe

Well there are Canadians that still voted for Trudeau. That says enough
