I am Norwegian and everything else. Mom's family spoke Norwegian and they followed the traditions at the holidays. They also came here in the late 1800's. Including Lutefisk. I would hide so they wouldn't ask me if I wanted any fish. Lol Your pronunciation of the words sounded great to me. I love the coloring book. Thank you so much ❤
I saw the cover of this a week or so ago and immediately ordered it!!! From iMusic. It's going to take awhile to get here, and postage was (little whimper - Prime has spoiled me) ow! BUT I DIDN'T CARE because it was a Christmas book/Winter book. Your flip-through reminded me of why I love this book so much. If I hadn't already ordered it, I would be doing so now. :-) Thank you!!! You know what I love about colouring and books and the different people who love this artform? I LOVE coloring (and drawing) faces and flowy hair and fabrics, AND just about everything else in a colouring book but, er ... it has to be family friendly or at least no higher a rating that PG-13. There is something in this hobby for everyone!!! I love how it brings people together :-) [You are going to have me checking both sides of every paper encountered from now on!!! Which is not bad!]
Hi Connie now I can watch your video my copy arrived hear in northern Australia in north tropical Queensland on Friday ready for a sunny Christmas lol.. it’s a beautiful colouring book too.. ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
Since falling in love with the Pitt pen/staedtler pigment arts pens (btw I lovingly refer to them as my piggies- pigment pens!😂), I too have become very preoccupied with paper. To the point where I was reading my young nephews a children’s book and commented how smooth the paper was! 😅 my nephew told me that I am really weird sometimes. I love the paper in my Swedish copy of Atlantis from iMusic, as well as in my new copy of Fairytales and Folklore! Soooo smooooth. ❤
I am of Swedish heritage. We celebrated Christmas with all of the customary foods and decorations. I dont feel Christmas like i did back then. The times my Swedish aunt and uncle would host Christmas eve. The swedish music, goats, swedish horses? there is a name for them., Tomte, Meatballs, lutefisk, cheeses, potato sausage, Hard Tack ,Swedish Rye and Cardamon breads all eaten by a fire and Swedish Christmas music aplaying. BTW i love coloring people and clothing, even though i need to practice more.
@@karenklingborg8554 I’m of Norwegian, Swedish and Danish heritage. Mostly Norwegian and Swedish so I’m right there with you! We lost a lot of the traditional culture along the way but the only thing we continue to keep is making of Smultringer. (Norwegian Donuts!) I love cardamom !
I've seen paper where the front side has more tooth and the back side is smoother. It sounds like this is the case here. It's frustrating to have this kind of paper in a coloring book. Thank you for the flip through. It's a beautiful book. ❤
It is kind of frustrating - it may mean that I need to use different mediums depending on which page I colour which is kind of a pain. Ah well - the art work is beautiful. :)
According to another viewer, Hanna had posted on her Instagram that the English version of the book won't come out until Autumn 2025. Hope that helps! :)
It's weird, isn't it? I'm kind of bummed - it might mean that my Pitt Pens/Staedtler pens will work better on half the pages and less well on the other half. I guess we'll see! :)
I hope it goes well for you!! I was actually considering buying the Staedtler pens. They look like ssoooo much fun!! I’ve got to rewatch your videos on them because I can’t remember which sets to get where. lol. Sucks they have raised the prices. Might wait till the hype comes down a bit. Anyway.. love your videos! Despite all the rage in short form content… I still like the chatty longer videos! Xoxo
I have the Dutch editions of her books, and I also noticed that some pages have more tooth. The difference is only minimal and doesn't bother me at all. I just thought I was crazy😂, because I've never heard anyone mention that.
I think Gibbs Smith publisher has the best paper. They publish both Hannah karlzon and Maria trolle English versions. So I guess I'll wait until next year for the English version of this book. Topp has a couple alternatives for Christmas and winter. They released a seasons book from Ursula Schwab and a new Santa and elves by Sonja Knyssok. I'm in the US and get those through Blackwell's
Isnt it beautiful?! I just did a flip on my channel. I like the European versions better as well. In my video i have audio of the norwegian and swedish ways of saying it, but ur pretty much dead on! Im really happy to have found imusic because i want to get some of her older versions by the original publisher. I felt that the paper was a bit different too. It seems thinner and slicker, smoother it seems. Ill be testing it out soon!
Funny thing is that in Finnish language Santa Claus is called "Joulupukki" translated in English it is "Christmas goat." In old custom before Santa in north we had story tradition about evil spirit in the shape of a goat, that demanded gifts and leftover foods on St Knut's Day (January 13) in exchange for crops and fertility. .. Maybe that goat picture is inspired by that? Thank you. I went to order it.
Ah - you guys probably have to pay VAT in the UK. :( Mine was $25.99 CDN plus $13.99 tracked shipping to Canada. Another viewer mentioned that Hanna posted on her Instagram that the English version of the book will come out in Autumn 2025.
Hi Connie ,Im not the biggest Hannah Karlson fan and dont own any of her books as I dont like all the pages with the large faces / profiles but I have ordered this one as I think its just beautiful and faces are small and not too many .
I was giggling watching this! The chemist in you is analyzing every teeny bit, especially the paper. But I agree, my copy came a couple days ago, and the paper confused me, too! But I put it aside with my other Christmas/winter stuff, which i wont start till end of November. I am presently coloring Halloween/Autumn/ Thanksgiving
I've searched for the publishers of the Dutch versions of her books and found the MUS you talked about and one called BBNC Uitegevers. If anyone knows about the paper qualify and if it is the same for both, please let me know. Here in Portugal most of the time is cheaper to buy the Dutch versions 😁 But.. it gets me confused sometimes because some books appear as "published in Germany" or "Published in Holland" for us using Spanish Amz 😵💫
I always order the Dutch versions of all books, if possible. I live in Germany. The paper quality is amazing. I have Tijdperk (Seasons, around 20 Euro) from BBNC, and Juwelenkistje (Jewelery Box, was 10 Euro) from MUS for example. I find them identical. I don't notice any difference. 🤷 (cover, paper quality) My colored pencils and neocolor 2 perform also the same, in all books. I have no clue why one is half the price of the other 🤷 I hope this helps you 🙂 I just had a look... "MUS is a trade name of BBNC" This is written inside my Tijdperk book, in dutch. I also have the new Maria Trolle book, MUS edition, it's the same paper.😊
@@CraftingMissAika Your welcome! 💕 However, my Juwelenkistje does not have this black border on the cover, as shown here on RUclips in some videos. Although the product picture on Amazon is with it. I think it's just a new edition, and they haven't changed the picture 😊
What??! That's so odd that this version is released a whole year before the English version! I can't wait another year! I'll definitely go order from imusic now!
I got this book today. What surprise me was the quality and price . 19,90e Thinner paper and almost half less images than in "Fairy Tales & Folklore Coloring Book from Emelie Lidehäll Öberg " that cost 18,90e. For quality I think that this book is overpriced.
The new Fairy Tales and Folklore book is an AMAZING value, I think - tons of images and some of the best paper I've seen in colouring books. Both Hanna's and Maria Trolle's books have been getting smaller - I'm not sure if there's a logic behind that (maybe that's what people want?) or if it's a money thing. But that new book from Emelie might be my new favourite book. :)
