    I learned something new from you Vivi. I have been gardening for 35 years and have never, ever heard of storing beans at this stage. This is fantastic. So much more flexibility. Thank you!

    Thank you so much Vivi. This video was very educational. I loved that you took the time to explain the different terminologies that we use here in Canada. I did not know that a broad bean as you call it, is a fava bean. I am trying to eat healthier so I am growing different types of beans this year for the first time, and was feeling a little unaware on how to deal with them all. I had a lot of AHA moments watching this video.

    Great idea! I'm guilty of tossing some in the compost, because at the end of the season there always seem to be a few pods that haven't dried yet and are still green. It never occurred to me to freeze them!

    Yummmmy! I store veggies like that too Vivi. It's really works out well. I do my okra like that too and it works great. Ive also know people that put their peas(shelled) in a pillowcase and put them straight in the freezer. No flash freezing, no blanching, no nothing. They just get out what they want to cook. Great info my friend! ✌🏼️❤️& Happy Harvesting🌸🍅🌽🌶☀️🌙

    Just refreshing for my bean storage from your video again Vivi! I think I have followed this video for 3 seasons but I always forget, but I know you are safely stored in my SAVED garden section! Now I just need to find your video on dried beans and putting jars in the freezer.I can never remember if I have to boil them if they have been dried .......now where did I save that one?! Thanks Vivi! PS I hope you get paid by RUclips for the times we go back to view over and over!x

    • @WhatVivididnext
      @WhatVivididnext  Год назад +1

      Hahah, cheers lovely. The dried ones go in jars in the freezer for 3 days.....then take the jar out of the freezer, let it come back to room temperature and then transfer the (still dry) beans to your storage jars ready to use for cooking......at which point you need to the over-night soak and boil the next day. 😊 The freezing is just to ensure any bean weevil are killed off and won't hatch in your storage jars the next spring!

    Thanks, an idea (if time) is to put text below. Since i only want the steps when in a hurry and also focus the camera on the produce, because when you are doing it as you listen. You just stand waiting for 5 minutes in the kitchen waiting to know what to do, or trying to fast forward to what to do with them.... You could speak while they are being put in the freezer or after. I could then make notes, save, like etc. Love the video though and will heck out the squash and pumpkin one next. Thanks.

    • @WhatVivididnext
      @WhatVivididnext  7 лет назад +1

      No need to soak as they're not dried - treat them as you would if you'd frozen the pods....ie; out of the freezer and straight into a pan of boiling water for about 10 minutes. :-)

      I don't bother with the blanching, no......however if you are planning to store them in the freezer for more than 6 months many folk advise it. I have had beans from the freezer, non blanched, after a year and they were perfectly good....so the choice is yours. :-)

      Great. I’m at this moment flat freezing them.
