What year is the soft top made for? I have a 2018 soft top and it folds under the door surrounds, but when I ordered a replacement for 2010-2018 it has the spring cable and I can't get the spring to connect.
does it matter if the old top is a best top soft top? if i were to remove a different brands top, would this replacement top fit on the same frame? i believe i still have the OEM frame but im unsure because the top was replaced before the jeep entered my hands
LOL, I have a replacement JL top sitting in my garage that you just shipped me for a warranty replacement. So now I have to figure out how to replace my old top with the new one with no instructions. @@BestopTeam
Exactly !! And the top they sent me has a spring dangling with a cord. Which is supposed to go in a bracket. My original top didn't have one, atleast I don't remember seeing one. This was Mopar factory original.
I am replacing Factory original soft top on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4-door. So, I ordered one from Bestop. First shipment I got was a wrong top. A khaki top with clear vinyl soft windows. I called and let Bestop know. They quickly sent me a second shipment. But this time when I opened the box, first thing I noticed was a shiny metal spring dangling with a cord, another cord holding a squarish metal plate with bunch of holes in it. This does not look familiar to me. There are no clearcut instructions on how to install it. Will there be a place to connect the spring even if I didn't have one in original setup? What do I do with that square metal plate? I haven't taken anything out of the box yet, because I was told that if I take it out of the box, and then had to return it for any errors, wrong item or anything, I will be charged a percentage as fees.. I am nervous about the spring etc. Besides, all instructions are for a 2-door jeep. Did I get a top for 2-door or a 4-door jeep. What if the second top shipment is also not correct one. There is not mujch time. Winter is round the corner, and I heard it might be snowing sooner than later. The ideal installation temperature of 71 degrees is also probably not there for a long while. Can you guys please help??? The instructions are either for 2-door, or some different version of the top for a different version of jeep. Why can't there be a straight forwardard set of instructions for what I am supposed to install. All this spring and metal plate business is making me nervous. I've had a bad experience with Bestop before also. I ordered a set of window panels for the same jeep, and the back window had a problem. There was about a half inch gap between bottom edge of the window panel and top of the back door. And I was left high and dry, first with run arounds, and then a complete communcation blackout. I am ready to pull my hair out with this. I don't even know if I got the right top. Tomorrow is Monday, and I am going to call customer service again and see if I get anywhere with this.
