Such a blast of a movie. And a solid throwback to the showa era. Seeing godzilla mothra and kong together for the first time in kaiju history is every kaiju fan dream come true. Also Justice for shimo. Glad she's free from skar king grip. Same for suko and the other great apes. Let's see how the new director does for the next movie. Also watch minus one you'll love it. 3:26 that's skylla. Y'all seen her at the end of kotm. She bowed to godzilla. 6:30 just say telepathic. 15:30 suko is 13.3 metters. He's bigger than kong was back in 1973 who was 104ft tall. 21:44 tiamat is a girl. 42:29 only godzilla 2014 teases you. The later movies started with kong skull island, king of the monsters and godzilla vs kong doesn't hold back. Once the action starts it doesn't stop. This movie is technically the first in the monsterverse franchise to be mostly about the monsters and it worked. 48:53 mothra has always been the heroic monster. Do your research

Looking this in a cinema where the seats has a special system that vibrates when the basses going loud was awesome you fell like you can feel every hit
AWHH YEAH!! y'all need to do minus one next, that's the movie that got me into Godzilla!! This is THE BEST Monsterverse movie hands down. It does everything right and it's FINALLY EVERYTHING we've been waiting for from this franchise! No more extremely dark scenes for 99% of the movie, no more fight scenes edited into oblivion and chopped in with human stuff that nobody could care less about. This movie had the perfect band of humans with a good storyline for once and a team that finally nailed the vibe. The themes of lost and found family with jia and Kong's stories mirroring one another, genius. The kong representative of the best of humanity up against the foe skar king that represents the worst of humanity as a foil, brilliant and amazing. The long scenes with absolutely no dialogue being led by these characters was FANTASTIC and this movie had the BEST intros to new characters. Just flawless. It made me think of how everyone was so upset the live action lion king featured emotionless puppets instead of real characters but this movie did an amazing job with their humanism and characterization. From the very beginning in the intro of this movie, it already had the best Godzilla fight scene of the entire franchise because Godzilla was a BEAST, the pacing was smooth, and like i said it wasn't over edited or cut with human garbage it was BREATHABLE. The way this movie was BRILLIANT in tying in Kong's history with canonically having electric powers so it's explained with a robot arm!! Sick!! I'm upset people keep calling that convenient, I just really think it's practical in this universe. World-building wise, this movie kinda NAILS IT for the world this franchise has created and how far robotics has come especially. It's honestly just GOOD WRITING. Really REALLY good writing!! This movie has just phenomenal tracking shots like for real i could go on forever!! People can have their opinions but this movie is objectively the best and most well-done in this franchise.
Yes, the REAL GODZILLA that’s how it should be done minus one was beyond fantastic blows this fake looking cheesy cartoony looking film out the ball park.
Except, Godzilla looks more fake in Minus One than he does in the Monsterverse. Minuse One is better because of the human characters and how their lives relate to Godzilla’s presence, not because of Godzilla himself.
@@rachaelhogan7850there is no “real” Godzilla the character has always either been goofy as hell (showa era) or serious and heart felt (Godzilla 1954) are you really a Godzilla fan if you don’t enjoy both versions?
@@TeenTyrant considering the budget, and the fact that they won an award in all of godzillas history proves you wrong. A movie with a 100x more budget SHOULD look better. Its incredible what they accomplished with what they had.
@FaTaLxWho , no, it doesn’t prove anything. The budget doesn’t matter, for one. Whether it was a low budget or a massive budget, Godzilla does not look or move realistically in that movie, not compared to the smooth motion and sheer weight and mass of the Monsterverse Godzilla. The award doesn’t matter, because it wasn’t even an important award. The movie should have won best picture or best director. Not only were the effects with Godzilla not that realistic, but they only gave it the VFX award because they would never give a real award to a foreign film, and certainly not a Godzilla film. Now, this is not to suggest it’s not a great movie; it is, rivaled only by the original movie out of the whole franchise, but it’s not because it has the “real” Godzilla, or even a realistic-looking one.
I love the natural progression of the bond between Kong and Suko. Even with that "I'll beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker" moment. And the fact that Jia was prophesized as a hero who can rouse Mothra from her slumber is amazing, same with her meeting other members of her tribe. Also, I not only love the "Aw, shut up" punch on the ape annoyingly running his mouth a few seconds before Kong met Skar King, but the part where Kong lobs a rock and creams the one ape in the head. Fun fact: Dan Stevens also played The Beast in the remake of Beauty And The Beast.
I took my girl to watch this in theaters. I had to do so much setup to make it happen though. It started when I convinced her to go watch Godzilla Minus One with me back when it was about to leave theaters. I hadn’t gotten around to seeing it, but everyone kept praising it so I figured it could be a good date movie. We watched it and to my delight she ended up really enjoying it, which I 100% took as a “now I can introduce her to the rest” kind of sign so we spent the following couple of months watching the entire Legendary Monsterverse saga. Some of the movies she liked, some of them she only kind of liked; none as much as Minus One though. Based on the trailers alone I figured New Empire was probably gong to be the silliest one so far, so I was a bit nervous that she wouldn’t enjoy it at all. I remembered she told me she’d never seen a movie in either 4DX or dbox and that she’d like to, so I got us tickets for dbox seats and a whole bunch of snacks. I was still worried she wouldn’t enjoy it, but as the movie went on I saw she was laughing, cheering and jumping the whole time. In the end she did think it was a silly movie, but really enjoyed it for what it was, and of course she enjoyed the dbox experience.
The way godzilla slept in the colloseum was actually inspired by Adams cat but the reason why godzilla slept in the colloseum is kinda sad It reminds him of his old lair, the one in kotm serizawas sacrifice sure did juice godzilla up but destroyed his lair him sleeping in that colloseum reminds him of when all the Titans bowed down he was the leader he took everything to care that little nap made him feel happy.
Took my 10 yr old twins & we all 3 fricken LOVED this movie!!!! We went to go see big monsters fight & heck yes it delivered. I loved it & they both say 5s !!!❤💞❤️
Godzilla in the coliseum was inspired by Adam Wingards cat. Another fun fact that's hard to believe is that Suko the baby Kong is taller than Kong was in Skull island
I think this one had the perfect ratio of Giant Monster to Human. I'm also kinda sad that they didn't even have a cameo of Rodan, considering he was hanging out in Rio in the King of Monsters movie.
The 10th Anniversary of The MonsterVerse. These iconic titans together have given us nothing but goodness. Kong for 90 years, Godzilla for 70 years and being part of this has been so entertaining. Movie No. 5, GxK is amazingly good. I saw it IMAX 3D with a packed house, opening weekend. The science, history, culture of this universe is vast. Some people go to watch these movies for the battles, but the background of such things are interesting to me and because everything has a reason to exist. The human characters are important (they are). Subtle connections from us to these beasts and beyond aren't just because of the same world, different levels. These Titans are the showstoppers, established or newly introduced, ally or threat. Loved the homages to the classic films with Godzilla's newer colors (Godzilla 2000 from 1999) and Kong's Powerhouse mechanism harnessing energy (King Kong vs. Godzilla from 1962). As for the battles, they are beyond incredible with the effects and Mo Cap, savage yet articulated. After all the hype and success of this film, you gotta wonder what could happen next? So much more they can pull from the classics to add in for this universe. Either way, we want more.
Went to go see it so went with my dad. Spent most of the movie shaking him awake, but luckily you couldn’t hear the snores over the sound system. A fun movie, friggin cool, love monster movies, 5
This little monkey that is with Kong is more or less the same height as Kong was in the movie "Kong Skull island", and this movie shows with this example of that monkey, how much Kong has really grown over the years.
15:32 the mini Kong is named suko and is larger than Kong was in skull island. And fun fact, mothra originally wasn’t gonna be in the movie due to the production not having rights to use mothra yet and instead were gonna use a creature called phosphora
I loved the action and I thought the characters were the best they've been in these American Godzilla movies... although I still missed the monsters when they were on screen. Loved it, though.
@@rachaelhogan7850 Oh hey its the person that said the same thing in another reply section and got called out by every single person there for being wrong.
25:25 when I saw this part for the first time, I had to rerun it so many times and LMAO! it took me a lot longer to watch the movie than the movie's run time!
I genuinely convinced myself the movie was called kong x godzilla because it focuses on kong but this movie is ridiculous hype fun. My bud and I were going nuts in the theatre over this yelling at the screen and bouncing out our seats because we saw it towards the end and there weren't many people in the theatre. We hated all the actors, but giant monsters and the personification of beat a mf with another mf was the best part of the movie
In all the other godzilla movies godzilla always get about 15 to 39 minutes of screen time the rest are humans because they tell the story of the movie
Bernie Hayes character had some funny lines here & the mini kong was cute! & liked Quinn's LOTR references, "potatoes" hehe & loved your reactions to mini kong at the end! ☺️ & the sound effects ya did & that Kiss song is a banger of tune! 🎶
I wasn't a fan of how much comedy was given to Trapper and Bernie in this movie but it does show Dan Stevens range as an actor comparing GXK and The Guest. Played both roles really well and I like him as an actor I just wish his actor in GXK was a little more serious.
I'm a big fan of Kong, Godzilla, Kaiju and the monster verse/monster movies as a whole. That's why I love all the Jurassic Park/World movies when a lot of people hated certain movies from the franchise. This movie for me was just a great monster movie, not everyone loved it and I understand some of the characters and acting weren't great in regards to what was actually going on. I really don't feel invested in the human's nor did I feel like any of the main characters were ever in danger. there was to much comedic relief from Bernie and Trapper every time they were on screen. As a straight up monster movie tho I loved it, Mothra, Kong and Godzilla (feels like I've been waiting years and years for that) fighting side by side definitely didn't disappoint, some of the other monster designs were amazing too. Shimo is cool af. I wish we seen a little more action from Tiamat. Skar King being similar in height but thinner yet still able to hang with Kong because he's more nimble, acrobatic and had a ranged weapon was cool too. This movie is the exact reason why I couldn't be a critic.. I'm to biased and would give it a 10/10 just because my inner child comes out like "ooo big monsters cool"
Man I miss the old days when a 5 from Oak meant something. Is this the same guy who only gave a 5 to the final Harry Potter and LOTR movies. 😂 All jokes aside I'm glad you guys enjoyed this one.
Fantastic movie. My favorite in the Monsterverse. Saw it three times in theaters. Really great visual storytelling, music, action..and most importantly the movie had a lot of heart. Great reaction. EDIT: Guys they share characteristics of real apes but the Ape Titans are not analogs of them. They share different aspects of different apes. They're not gorillas. Or chimps.
This might sound crazy, but do you think a John Wick 3 style Godzilla vs. a bunch of Titans back to back with humans just entirely cut out of the film would work? I'd personally love to just see them try to make a kaiju film that is truly entirely focused on the kaiju themselves. I think this movie was great & the characters were fun and weren't intrusive, but again, we're here to see Kong hit a bunch of guys with another smaller monkey and then fight an anime villain monkey who rides another titan while Godzilla just wrecks shit. I genuinely don't know if anything would be lost from entirely cutting the humans from the movies (maybe even just have a movie of titans killing all humans or something if they want to justify it) and the amount of cool monster fights we'd gain by adding more combat runtime seems like what everyone would want
I saw the movie in theater and went alone. Since it was a hot day I even was the only one in the room. It was also the last screaning of the movie in my town. I didn't see the trailer. Therefore I had not idea what to expect. I had a lot of fun anyway. I liked Jia's storyline beside all the monster.
Please PLEASE watch godzilla minus one. It is by far the BEST modern godzilla film by a long shot. It brings the human and monster story together perfectly.
Godzilla wasn't in this film much, because we were focused on Kong. The director confirmed that the next movie would focus more on Godzilla so I'm hoping for maybe a flashback that has Godzilla as a youngin 😊
Loved your reaction guys! Also hope you watch Minus One. It’s crazy how many people are actively trying to downplay and and compare this to Minus One, while Minus one is undoubtedly the better written movie, it’s not a fair comparison to compare two drastically different aspects of Godzilla. They both have their advantages to enjoy, The big G is a very versatile character to mess around with so there’s no need to act pretentious and shit on one movie to uplift another.
I had so much fun watching this movie, but man was it so dumb🤣but it was sooooo fun! I also agree Godzilla wasn’t in it enough when he’s one of the titular characters
MuthafuckinFIVEbitchez! After the heaviness of Minus One (saw it twice in theaters), this movie was just what the doctor ordered. It was so much fun. As fun as GM1 was good. Two awesome Godzilla movies, great time for the franchise.

Scylla, technically, but it really isn't that important :)
“Orcs are near”😂😂😂
Just finished the full reaction, and damn it was such a blast! I mean, what's better than Kong and Godzilla teaming up? That's right - Kong, Godzilla and Mothra teaming up! 5 Answers well-deserved! And honestly, loved that you thought the same thing as me when that cute little ape showed up. "Sméagol is that you?!" 😂 Thanks for the reaction guys! 💪💚
Now you gotta watch the Godzilla movie that is exactly the polar opposite of this movie: Godzilla Minus One (2023)
Looking this in a cinema where the seats has a special system that vibrates when the basses going loud was awesome you fell like you can feel every hit
THE ULTIMATE GUILTY PLEASURE FILM!! I GOTCHA!! 🦍🦖🦾👏🙌🙏👍😁😆😅🤣😂❤🎉
AWHH YEAH!! y'all need to do minus one next, that's the movie that got me into Godzilla!!
Please watch Godzilla minus one.
This was an experience in the theaters. So good!
Y'all's reactions are always a joy to watch.
2 uploads in one hour
definitely gonna ruin my sleeping schedule 😂
Dunno if you guys noticed but I’m pretty sure the Scottish pilot is the naked miner from Chernobyl lmao
The baby ape, Suko, is just a little bigger than Kong was in Kong Skull Island, which is crazy. He did some serious growing in comparison
This happened because originally Godzilla vs Kong was going to be the last movie in the monsterverse, legendary had nothing planned.
I would highly recommend Godzilla Minus One. It is a fantastic movie and one of my favourites
I’m still waiting for there reaction to minus one!
I love how you guys use the tribal chiefs music awesome!!!
I love when you guys react to different movies and shows, it reminds me of when i’d watch things with my brothers
Loved, loved, loved this movie and saw it in IMAX 2 times!!!
It's like a Saturday morning watching old school Godzilla on tv.
Nothing but FUN!!!
FYI, Kong is a species that is more robust and stronger physically than the apes in this film
The way godzilla slept in the colloseum was actually inspired by Adams cat but the reason why godzilla slept in the colloseum is kinda sad
It reminds him of his old lair, the one in kotm serizawas sacrifice sure did juice godzilla up but destroyed his lair him sleeping in that colloseum reminds him of when all the Titans bowed down he was the leader he took everything to care that little nap made him feel happy.
I love comfy you guys are, great reactions 😂
I think this one had the perfect ratio of Giant Monster to Human.
I'm also kinda sad that they didn't even have a cameo of Rodan, considering he was hanging out in Rio in the King of Monsters movie.
Hope Godzilla - Minus one is soon next :)
Loved the homages to the classic films with Godzilla's newer colors (Godzilla 2000 from 1999)
and Kong's Powerhouse mechanism harnessing energy (King Kong vs.
This little monkey that is with Kong is more or less the same height as Kong was in the movie "Kong Skull island", and this movie shows with this example of that monkey, how much Kong has really grown over the years.
godzilla is homesick , that is why he likes the colosseum as it reminds him of his home
15:32 the mini Kong is named suko and is larger than Kong was in skull island. And fun fact, mothra originally wasn’t gonna be in the movie due to the production not having rights to use mothra yet and instead were gonna use a creature called phosphora
I still haven't gotten over that damn suplex!!😁😁😁
I’m so happy you guys are seeing this it’s amazing!
that little ginger Kong know as Suko, is actually 40 feet taller than the Kong was in skull island. just to put things into perspective
I loved the action and I thought the characters were the best they've been in these American Godzilla movies... although I still missed the monsters when they were on screen.
Loved it, though.
Finally!🎉 Been wondering when are you going to post this🥹
Suko, the baby kong, is as tall as kong was in Kong: Skull Island. In fact, hes taller than kong was in that film. Almost 140 feet tall!
That was one of the movies ever made!
You got to do Godzilla minus one. Easily one of the best Godzilla movies ever made if not the best.
FACT, compared to this fake cheesy looking garbage bad story, bad effects bad acting, compared to MINUS ONE this is a train wreak of a movie.
Apparently, Suko (mini-Kong) is 149+ feet, making him 43 feet taller Kong was in Kong: Skull Island.
No joke, I saw this movie in the theatre with my mom. It was a mutual decision and had a blast. Rated 5.
Please do Godzilla Minus One soon. You guys will really enjoy it!
Mothra:I think the Colosseum now Godzilla bed or nest
In all the other godzilla movies godzilla always get about 15 to 39 minutes of screen time the rest are humans because they tell the story of the movie
They're continuing the Monsterverse. A new film has been confirmed. And also Monarch Legacy of Monsters season 2. Plus some spin offs.
Love the videos guys. Was wondering if you would ever consider doing a reaction video for Treasure Planet or Brightburn? Keep up the great work!
Bernie Hayes character had some funny lines here & the mini kong was cute! & liked Quinn's LOTR references, "potatoes" hehe & loved your reactions to mini kong at the end! ☺️ & the sound effects ya did & that Kiss song is a banger of tune! 🎶
Went to see the movie on a Thursday night after few drinks with co-workers. we were all bit drunk and had a blast. 10/10 would recommend
Kong and the little guy reminded me of Kratos and his son Atreus. Anyone else get that vibe?😅
Love watching your reactions Badd Medicine...have you guys watched any of the resident evil movies? Not the live actions ones
you guys should watch The Guest also starring dan stevens and directed by adam wingard!!!!!!! please!!!! it's EXCELLENT
I wasn't a fan of how much comedy was given to Trapper and Bernie in this movie but it does show Dan Stevens range as an actor comparing GXK and The Guest. Played both roles really well and I like him as an actor I just wish his actor in GXK was a little more serious.
Kong and I have the same attitude towards dental pain: Ignore it for as long as possible, then start picking fights and flinging poop.
Holy W , I didnt expected you guys would react godzilla x kong , otherwise , its make my day
I'm a big fan of Kong, Godzilla, Kaiju and the monster verse/monster movies as a whole.
The end fight feels like a scene from the game Rampage.
The fact that Godzilla swam all the way from Gibraltar to Egypt in a matter of minutes is just nuts
How is that a stretch? It’s not like he was in Hawaii? They’re literally both on the Atlantic
Dude they’re both the Mediterranean Sea. You’re dumb if you think Godzilla can’t swim that fast.
Man I miss the old days when a 5 from Oak meant something. Is this the same guy who only gave a 5 to the final Harry Potter and LOTR movies. 😂 All jokes aside I'm glad you guys enjoyed this one.
It was a haybailer popcorn movie.. exactly what I expected and good for it.
Also you guys should watch Monarch Legacy of Monsters if you want more lore and some good human drama 😂
Suko, the baby red ape in this movie is the size of Kong from Kong skull island.
I heard that the baby ape was actually the size of Kong back in Skull Island
That little ape is 164 feet tall, about 60 feet taller than kong was in Skull Island.
RIP Tiamat
Out here just mindin her own business. Godzilla shows up and offs her just cuz he needs a power boost 🤦♂
I had so much fun watching this movie, but man was it so dumb🤣but it was sooooo fun!
I also agree Godzilla wasn’t in it enough when he’s one of the titular characters
The small russian guy that gets eatnen by the tree, he was the main naked miner from Chernobyl!
I am waiting for you guys to drop Godzilla minus One. I mean this movie is okay, but that movie is just another level of good story writing.
If its only me or Skar King looks familiar to Cobo from Planet on the Apes
MuthafuckinFIVEbitchez! After the heaviness of Minus One (saw it twice in theaters), this movie was just what the doctor ordered. It was so much fun. As fun as GM1 was good. Two awesome Godzilla movies, great time for the franchise.
