I don’t know about you guys but I’m seeing this as a lesson. I did notice the typo from the very beginning but it didn’t really affect what I learned, and I think Will has gone so far to teach us and help us improve that ultimately the video is more helpful than anything else. Yes, the typo is still there, but I see it as a reminder that nobody’s perfect and everyone makes mistakes. We’re all trying to improve here and I think that’s what matters most.
@@MJ-oj2qv It's not nitpicking. If it were a paid piece, the person would send it back or ask for their money back. No one said Will was defective - I think he's awesome - but it's just a typo. However, it's something that is needing to be considered for more creative people - make sure spelling & grammar is checked if you're doing a paid (or portfolio) piece that's not in your native language.
@@paulgreblick Did you read the comments to see that no-one was nitpicking? I didn't, but I know there are Grammar Stazi swine all over the internet who will criticize nastily if someone makes a spelling mistake.
Hi Will, thank you for all this free gold of information, really appreciate it. I'm a graphic designer, and would like to get into hand lettering, mainly for logos and apparel, what are the tools I would need as a complete beginner, is my mac, illustrator and photoshop enough for now? Like if I had to hand letter something, can I just scan this lol i know this sounds so primitive!!! but I'm financially not in the position to buy any resources, what can I use, or what's your advice to get my hand drawn lettering to my computer? thanks a mil :)
Are the built in Procreate brushes enough to make good art and lettering? I’ve got an iPad coming in the post, and will be using Procreate for the first time, so have no clue about buying brushes etc. Thanks
I have just subscribed to your channel and I am hoping you can help me! My dream is to write and illustrate children’s books. I started with procreate for my illustrations and I absolutely love it! However, I do like the pixelated blurry look of my lines around my color work when I zoom in and out. I find it frustrating to have such a great app otherwise. So I decided to get a ventornator app and redo my inking. It was free..so why not?..but when I do my lines ..they move slightly...they don’t stay put. What cost effective ...user friendly vector app can I use that I could ink well that also I can import and export? I love the auto correct procreate has ..just hold and your line is straightened! Lately, I have spend more time trying to find the right app instead of drawing....please help my dreams come true! Thank You for your help!
You need to learn about how to size your procreate canvas specifically for printing. You may have to consolidate layers at times during your process because at higher resolutions the number of editable layers is contingent on how large the file becomes from upping its resolution. Just feel confident in knowing that after a certain point it won’t matter in the grand scheme of things about the pixelation you might see up close when zoomed in if the resolution and dpi settings in your procreate canvas were made taking a specific print size into account. This is where planning out your end product is important. This will also teach you about color profiles. And if it doesn’t naturally come up during your search for the original topic, then that’s also something you’ll want to look into. Hope this helped.
I am sizing my art for children’s books and not using the choice on custom size canvas for pixels, but choosing inches. So if I see my picture looking pixelated when I zoom in close, it isn’t going to effect the look of my picture when they are put into a book and printed? So, It only matters if the art looks pixelated when I am not zooming in? Hope this wasn’t too confusion! Thank for answering me
let's just mention that most vector tools that have the precision to create a logo proper will require a desktop too. You might be able to do something with vectornator or affinity designer on an ipad, but the desktop versions of those two, illustrator or corel draw or inkscape or whatever are likely to deliver better results in terms of precision.
With all he does for his viewers, that’s all you can point out? I went to your about page and in three seconds I spotted a capital S in the middle of a sentence and commas after each item in a bullet list. Are you kidding me? How come you haven’t corrected that?

Just seeing this video now. I take it the comments section was filled with nit-picking Grammar Stazis.

And I've learned more from just a single video from Will than in 10 from others, so it's definitely a free pass on that one.

Do you think the iPad mini 5 is ok for hand lettering and creating logos ?
I wouldn't personally, I like a bigger surface to draw on. :) But if it's the only iPad you have then just go for it!
