Nice to see reviews on this as everyone flocked to the Shield Plus.

It may be outdated but lemme tell you....this is still one of the best concealed carry guns every made. Quality is outstanding for the price and I've never had a single malfunction.

I have both the Hellcat and the Shield 2.0 my Shield: I just changed the sights and added Maggut’s springs for one extra round in each Mag. And although I love both Guns, I often find myself going back to the Shield because it’s a bit bigger and shoots easier

I love my hellcat it’s a great feel and package not to mention a straight tac driver even one handed. But it is a snappy lil thing that’s for sure

If your doing a height comparison, use the smaller magazine. Wow!!!😮

I absolutely agree and most people can conceal a bit more and carry and gun the shoots on point so well. I even got the newer Shield plus yet I still carry the 2.0 during the day in Florida most days. The perfect balance.

Why do you prefer the 2.0 over the plus?

@@mynameismudd3134 Very simply, I can shoot it more accurately and prefer the hinged trigger to the new flat face trigger on the Plus!

My question is when you are in a life or death situation are you generally going to have the time to use sights time to aim? Especially if the assailant is very close.

    • @TheConcealedCarryChannel

That is a discussion I have a lot with people. If the attacker is within a certain distance, aiming is pointless. However, a great number of self-defense shootings happen at the outer mark of the 3 meter zone, so I think it's still important to have a sight you can pick up quickly. Best regards.

From my research most violent encounters, in public settings, happen within arms reach. Wether it be from behind or from the side most violent attackers want to take their victims by surprise. If I am getting gas and two people pull up and want my wallet and my vehicle I would want my weapon to have a good front sight, but most importantly I would want to be confident that my rounds are going to hit where I send them. That is why force on force training is very important. It prepares us for not only what we should expect to happen but how to react to what IS happening. #1 know how to use your weapon and #2 no when to fight and when to run. Fighting, even if we are armed, isn't always the best option.

I like my shield 2.0 a lot, but I have found the stippling to be way too aggressive and caused a lot of irritation when carrying. I ended up sanding it down and it improved quite a but that was my only gripe really.

I had a Shield .45 and shot it a lot, I really wanted to like it. But even putting 1,250 rounds through it in one summer, using an Apex trigger and Dawson fiber optic sights, I just couldn’t ever shoot it as well as I wanted to.
Excellent sights, quite decent trigger, and a lot of money spent on practice ammo, and it just couldn’t change the fact that I have above-average hand size and the grip was simply too small.

the shield in .45 seems like an intresting gun i might need one lol

Honestly if you like the grip, if you don’t think it’s too small for your hands, it really is a fantastic carry gun. Mine was totally reliable and very accurate, and it’s very easy to carry. Even in summer when you don’t want much more than a t-shirt on. I’d really recommend it. Very solid value, too, $400-$500 for it is a steal. Holsters are available too, just make sure the holster fits the .45 specifically because it’s slightly larger overall than the 9mm/.40 version.

@@ryannafe9252 i already see theres a performance center version with a 4 inch barrel this very much has my attention

    • @ryannafe9252
      @ryannafe9252 Год назад

Yeah just keep in mind that those longer barreled ones will be harder to find holsters for. And the recoil is really not nearly as bad you might think, either.
If you use +P ammo in the standard short barrel model, you’ll get about 800-850 with 230 grain ammo and about 950-1,000 with 185’s

Great gun but I disagree about the trigger. Even on the new plus model, the Apex trigger takes it to a new level. It's a night and day difference.
