I have found your videos to be extremely helpful on adjusting M360 & ML. A faster & I believe a safer method is to use a piece of 3/4” x 1/2” aluminum C channel. Round the corners on the C channel and slide over the wires 4 -5”’s past the desired length to shield the wires. Use a dremel tool to make to 2 parallel cuts far enough apart laterally to allow wires to be easily removed. Make one circumferential cut at the desired final length, rotating the C channel such that the wires are always shielded by channel.

What issue did this resolve? Looking to add the M360 this winter. Thanks for the video.

This mod will allow you to move the Mega 360 up (shallower) on short shafted Ultrex trolling motors and not bind or restrict movement when utilizing spot lock.

Just for future reference. A pipe cutter would work 100 times better if not that a grinder, drimmal, a hacksaw would all be way better options.

Big Jim I need your help! I just installed my hummingbird Mega 360 yesterday it's reading connected on my Helix 12! But when I placed a wet paper towel over them two Silver sensors I'm not hearing the ping noise and the transducers not rotating is that right, do you have any suggestions? Also is there a process to turning this thing on like turn the head unit on first then the mega 360 I'm confused about it really

I thought I heard you say replacing it would cost 300 if you cut wires. My bad..... 👍

The fine dust from that carbon fiber tube is very hazardous. I would highly recommend wearing a mask and eye protection. Great idea otherwise!

Wouldn’t be easier to use a pipe cutter

Don’t know. Ott did not use a pipe cutter. We referenced his video.

You can definitely do it with a pipe cutter way easier and way less likely to hit a cable.
