The description of the angle is backwards from all I’ve learned. 0 is straight down. Each click up is 10 degrees. 60 degrees is 6 clicks up from down and is the flattest setting for shallow water/greater distance out. 20 degrees, or two clicks up, would be for deep water. You agree? Or am I back asswards?
A year ago they didn’t have the bifocals? I had asked them. But now they do!! That’s cool!! Also like all the info on the birds!! I may have to sell my 4 helix 12s and get two big Solix or Apex units just so I don’t have to have 2 hubs and have mega live freeze up when using the 360
Just want to clarify a little bit of misinformation in the video. I'm sure it was just a mistake rather than a lack of knowledge on Chris' part. The shallower you put your transducer in Forward Mode the higher the angle... not lower. Humminbird measures with the down position being 0 degrees and each click up is +10 Degrees. Forward is 40 Degrees. One click shallower would be 50 Degrees, two clicks shallower would be 60 Degrees, and etc. Also, you don't have to match the forward view setting with the actual transducer position. If you are fishing shallow and want to focus more on the surface, you could keep the transducer position on 40 Degrees but put the Forward Mode view in 50 Degrees or 60 Degrees... Especially if you want to see a top water lure. Glad you pointed out that the Noise Filter isn't linear. The biggest mistake people make when trying to clear up the Wagon Wheel is to try the "1" setting and then the "6" setting. If that doesn't clear it up, they stop there. As Chris stated, each setting is different and you have to try all six of them.
Thanks for the clarification slydoggietn. I just watched the video and realized what was said in the moment. The main thing I was trying to convey is that you have options of how you can set up the unit. It gives you the ability to maximize efficiency based on the technique you are using to catch fish. I did not do a good job of explaining
Great video! Always enjoy watching Chris and sharing his knowledge regarding Hummingbird electronics! Great seeing y'all stick a fish or two, too!!
Thank you Mike
Big Jim is all set to grab a 10 check at the Super now. Good video Jim
