It’s an awesome price for the LX700h OT. Folks usually forget or don’t know that if a Lexus model starts with an “L” you’re getting all of the best equipment and the LX have always been full spec Land Cruisers. It’s been 30 years since we got triple lockers, anyone complaining about price for this thing is crazy. Big ass 2 row utilitarian suv is great, you want a family hauler get an Expedition or Suburban.
I’m planning to trade in my GX550 OT+ for a 700h within the next year or two. While I’m not someone who does serious off-roading, the LX with triple lockers is undeniably appealing.
If you are not a serious off-roader, then why trade it in? You don't truly need a front locker if you are not hard-core off-roading. Look at the pros at Dissent off-road they go extreme offroading with an LC250 with no front locker.
If you're ok with saving trees go with FSport trim. If it's PIO, versus FIO (Factory Installed Options) you can tell your dealer to remove the Port Installed Options early on.
Nope I tried to do that with my GX OT+ port installed overtrail roof rack, and they said they couldn't. Once the port installed options are on the shipping list, they can not separate it from the suv.
When I was on the Lexus lot I saw the LX…It’s internal packaging is really no functional different than the GX, so unfortunately it’s not really larger interior. Also, LX has real leather, which should have been available at the GX OT+ price point.
Yes, agreed. I think it’s very slightly larger, but not a significant change. For me it’s more so the ability to have a proper 3 row overtrail. I also agree the GX OT should have had leather!
@@NorthoftheWallGarage I don’t need a 3 row, so the OT trim makes sense for me. But the additional locker is a great upgrade; no wonder it was not available on the GX, with Toyota / Lexus keeping that feature exclusive to the LX top of the line TNGA-F platform .
@ but now thinking back… I would have thought they’d do that to the 4Runner although it is very tight. The Gx at least still has a good amount of space with how they make the seats go down
The biggest gripe I see is the lx overtrail gets a fn 3 row and the gx over trail you don’t even get the option…..but people will tell you why would you want a 3 row for off roading I would kill for a gx over trail with 3 row looks like next year will have to go with a lux model gx
Many people question why an off-roader needs a third row, often because they don't have multiple children to transport daily or take on on/off-road trips during holidays. As EV adoption accelerates, ICE SUVs are becoming niche products. To capture the remaining market share, manufacturers should focus on meeting individual needs by offering a wide range of customizable options.
ICE is still an overwhelmingly large majority of the market (90%+). I agree though that if you’re spending $100k on a car, it should be able to be custom ordered with sensible options
And yet they refuse to give us EKDSS on this... typical corporate shit, they will sell this one for a few years and then release the "refresh" with the actual full LC spec...
Entirely possible and good call out. We are also 4 years into the life cycle of the LC300. Granted these tend to have a much longer life cycle than your typical SUV, so I doubt there will be a major overall in the next 5 years
I wish I could agree with you. Nissan used to be great, but right now I wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole. Would likely go American if I couldn’t get Lexus or Toyota.
Yes - have the GX550 overtrail plus. Love the G550 Benz but it’s double the price of the GX550 that I have and nearly $40k more than the LX here. A lot of coin
Lx dash layout has too many screens. Gx looks better too. Both have a very unreliable engine @ this point.. see tundra engine failures with same engine. Big gamble @ this point
Agreed. Lexus uses the two screens as a selling point but it really just looks out of date. I’d prefer them to use the GX screen or simply keep the 1 existing dash screen to make it look more timeless
Awesome we now have this model available! Just a note - The LX600 has 409hp, but the LX700h is 457hp (you mentioned 409hp at 03:20).
That’s right - good catch - thank you!!

Yep I agree with you!!! Well said
12:56 id go with the 3rd row delete , 5 passenger one of the very very few models one can have a 3rd row delete
Would be a great spec and even better value!
Besides your need for the seven seats, why consider going to a heavier vehicle? Thanks. good presentation.

I’m probably in the same boat. I think the LX in overtrail trim is a real halo SUV!

Keep up the good content! Really enjoying your channel.
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words

Not a bad call. LX600 F sport is ready for duty for the most part, just need big tires

I'm so tempted...
Likewise. Wish this was available as the LX600 and $10k cheaper!
@@NorthoftheWallGarage 115k wasn't expected. Still gonna be 120k+ "out the door." That said, still tempted. So much so I called my dealer... LOL! SMDH
Interesting how the OT version starts out as the least expensive trim.
Agreed. When I first received an “estimated invoice” from the dealer, OT was predicted as $125k. So I was glad to see it wasn’t as high.
LX 700 more 🔥 eeish

Triple locked with a 20 degree approach angle lol
Yeah, not a rock crawler but at least for my use, overall ground clearance is more important to me.
@ fair enough
No ekdss on the Lx
Why their OT have 3 rows but not in Gx. This sucks! Wish they do in the Gx
I agree! Maybe they will change that in subsequent years

True. Odd omission for what should be a top tier off roader

100% agree with the GX passages roof vents, even LC has them plus 2nd row climate control. Not acceptable for Lexus to cheap out.
Wish the Gx had these brake lights
Honestly less than I was expecting. I was guessing $140k.
I like Lexus/Toyota trucks but the 2025 Nissan Armada is a cheaper option that's worth looking into.
I wish I could agree with you. Nissan used to be great, but right now I wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole. Would likely go American if I couldn’t get Lexus or Toyota.
I would get a Gx 550 overtrail looks better and if I’ll spend more money I would get the g class
