I have always wanted a supermoto. Being 5'6 and now 46 single dad with two kid a sur ron was a better fit. I thought I would be missing out on the supermoto lifestyle but this thing is an absolute BLAST!!
Nice! It's a bike the whole family can enjoy. As far as off-road riding in tight woods, this Sur Ron is more fun than any gas dirt dike. When I get back to OH I will be a serious hooligan on this Sur Ron like I already am on my YZ450FX supermoto. lol

Been on a supermoto forever but love my surron! No noise and being able to ride it anywhere without pissing people off is the best part

Seems huge advantage to throw in back of vehicle. Think will be my first bike for that reason alone
You can get a supermoto wheel set and swap em easy. I can confirm you can ride a Sur-Ron just about anywhere

I live in a suburb and there is no way I could ride a dirtbike around here, so my dream of having a bike always been closed. Until I found the Sur Ron.
It might not sound as cool or be as fast but god damn if I cant have fun with it!

Another PRO of the SURRON is that you don't need to wait for it to warm up. It's instantly ready to go. My KTM 250EXCF, takes maybe 5-10 minutes before it's warm enough to ride like it should
Hey man: have you used the programming cable to turn the regen off completely. If not, the moment you let off the throttle the regen acts as a back brake, bringing the front wheel down. That, and of course, ensure the brake sensors are either deleted or programmed off. Luna Cycle has a video showing how to do both of these settings

I've been checking out the other sur-ron vids. I'm thinking it would be a fun bike around where I live. As far as no real noise,... that's a plus! You are able to better hear what's around you, where as with a motorcycle you hear your bike sometimes more then you probably should. lol
Better to enjoy nature with the silence.

Hey 1st mod you should do is 58T sprocket. Stock is 48T. You lose 4MPH top speed but wheelies easy

I think you need to update your opening with the yellow crotch rocket & do a new more modern in touch with what your riding now opener. I’ve had dirt bikes & 4 wheelers in the past & just currently own a sport street bike. But mainly I have 3 bikes, a mountain bike, gravel bike & a road bike that I pedal & am the motor to stay in shape & keep my weight in check. I do REALLY like that Sur-Ron & would love to have one. 🔥

I know I poke at you a lot about trying an adventure bike but I’m looking to downsize from my GS to something smaller that I can carry on the hitch of my Jeep. I’m going to lose an awesome street bike when I do, but I will gain a much more manageable bike off road. If I could afford it, I would have both. I was excited about the KTM electric too until I saw that the run time was only about an hour. That was a huge disappointment because the bike is legit in every other aspect. So I’m leaning toward the 500 EXC F. I know there’s the maintenance thing but like you mentioned about the Yamaha, those are race intervals. It’s not even in my ability to beat the bike that hard.
And the KTM Freeride only does 50 mph (About the same speed as the Sur Ron X but at 245 lbs vs 110lbs!) and it costs 12k! If you want a bike to ride off-road, try the Sur Ron X, it will be more fun than any gas dirt bike an at half the cost or less, you can even mod it to go much faster at 80 mph and it would still be cheaper than most gas dirt bikes. Just look up other videos on the Sur Ron, you'll see the truth like I did.

You should do the valve check on the yamaha. The first valve check is the most importent one
I own a Suzuki DRZ400S. I've upgraded the dated aesthetics and the maintenance intervals are very long. The DRZ400S is very reliable. Albeit heavier than your YZ Conversion. Wish I had bought a DRZ400SM, since I mainly stay on the street.

I'm making a little 125cc sumo. I'm stuck, between 12" alloy 2.15\2.5 vs 14" 2.5\3.00 spoked. So hard of a choice.
Would you buy the Husqvarna 701 instead of your yamaha? So that you don't need to do too much maintenance anymore

Stock just cruzing going easy on pavement like 25 mph you get about 30-35 miles . You can buy a bigger battery that gets you 60 miles
Ive done a ride with some guys in Vegas with my NAMI. Three of them had RECONs and one a surron. Now I haven't ridden a surron yet but it looks fun. I could see those being very good bikes for people who live in decent sized cities.
I did however ride a recon with the big battery pack and holy shit!!! I thought my NAMI was quick which it is but my goodness. I would say a recon would be a better overall bike to get then a surron if that's an option. It's so light to me and is just a dam hoot. Very good top end and range when you ride accordingly. During our 54mile ride, the recon big battery maintained 2-2.5v more then my NAMI and that RECON is a 72v bike just like my NAMI.
I thought.....man if someone likes to ride off-road and hit bike trails but have great power and speed also, those RECONS are something serious

I’ve been lucky to have ridden almost every style of bike and hands down, the Sur Ron has been the most fun.
ANYWHERE AND ANYTHING becomes a motor cross track or jump or stunt lot. Can’t say the same for any other bike. Is electric better than gas? I’m some aspects, but not in terms of top speed and outright cost. But look how fast electric motorcycles are moving along. Compared to gas. It’s gonna be wild soon.
$12k for KTM is overpriced I think.
WHEN YOU CAN GET OTHERs for under $5,000.
This $4200 100 lbs Sur Ron beats the KTM Free Ride in every way except looks and the deceptive looks of the Sur Ron is its best attribute because you can ride it anywhere without registration and insurance, no being bothered by police. And if you wanted to you can an even add a pedal kit and by law they can't bother you as long as you keep it to 20 mph below on the streets.

You know you don’t have to change the oil that much unless you ride it in competition or are you gone for throttle all the time on a truck first Street use is not really needed check with the Yamaha service rep
There's a guy on youtube who decked out his surron with sumo wheels and all kinds of mods hitting some insane top speeds on the thing
Sur Ronster says the Deity handlebar helps with wheelies. Watch his how to wheelie vid for tips. He says go 10mph or so and pop the bike...
Take the rear break sensor off the left hand break handle. So the engine doesn’t cut out while you are pulling a wheelie
not just that...I bet he hasn't used the programming cable to turn off the Regen...definitely makes it harder to keep the front wheel up with regen on, as the moment you let off the throttle to coast the regen acts as a brake.
Stealth is best, and no stinking petrol and oil leaking into your van 😂⛽🙏👍🇬🇧

No problem at all, I pay about $100 a year full coverage. State Farm will make a policy for anything, even for this Sur Ron which I got a quote for the same price $100 which covers theft too.
The smaller bikes are Maneuvering Bikes. The heavier are Highway Bikes. Im into Maneuvering. Even on my Shadow 600. I have a 250 too.

Well, to be fair, they both seem like toys, but let's be real. Since when are motorcycles not toys? Especially in the US. At least you're real about what you really want out of a bike. Very few riders even commute on a bike, but because a Surron could get a pass as an E-Bike, IMO, its more dangerous on the street than even the YZ. But if you're going to use it for off-road, like you, I think its great for that.
Plus, I don't think. The Surron is considered an e-bike in every state because it has a throttle. I think some states only consider pedal assist as e-bikes. The throttle would likely classify it as a moped of some sort.

you should get a 110cc dirt bike to compare the sur ron x and yz450f
A stock surron is very similar to a 125cc. Fully modded surron, basically price of two surrons, the power is very similar to a 250cc
Even a 110cc gas bike is heavier than a Sur Ron adn a 110cc bike is slower, they only do about 38 mph as where a Sur Ron does 47 mph but can easily be modded to do 80 mph which will blow away any 110cc gas pit bike. Also, I get FREE battery recharges via sun from my Van's solar system

I just talked to a guy at the barbershop about Sur ron. He said its not legal to ride on road , its a dirt bike and any cops around here would stop you . It’s not class 1,2,or 3 . It’s great for off-road but not a bike you can ride down sidewalk or road without being hassled. Sell the Sur on and buy a pitbike or a grom and build a mini moto track
If you ride slow on sidewalks no one will think twice. Especially if you have a bike helment on and casual clothing. I personally feel like the gear you wear while riding will determine how people feel about you. With an MX helmet it looks like a dirt bike, with bike helment looks like mtb.

If cops bother you, just put on the pedal kit and keep speeds to 20 mph or less and they can't bother you legally. Around here they think it's an e-bike. The Sur Ron is more fun than any pit bike. Go look at other videos on YT and you'll see the truth. However, the high popularity of this bike and hooligans like me could be a problem for society. lol

What happens if you have a f'd up day on the SurRon? Say, you go down in the bush and take a branch through the thigh. At that point, it all goes out the window and you will say to yourself, why didn't I just get a motorcycle with insurance...... You've been there, so why go there again? I think it was a mistake
You can get insurance for the Sur Ron X, I just got a quote my State Farm agent for $100 a year for full coverage. You are less likely to have a f'd up day on a Sur Ron than any other gas dirt bike. At only 110 lbs and small package with uber torque, it's extremely confidence inspiring. If I had the Sur Ron in that off-road crash I had I wouldn't have crashed...

If you saw the video instead of just commenting you would see and know the truth. It's looks are actually its best attribute because it makes it stealth so no license plate and insurance but can go anywhere, street, side walks, bike lanes, mountain bike trails, anywhere off-road, etc, etc. Ride one and you'll understand how cool this bike is.
