Trainspotting (BG) - 77 109 - the second modernized narrow gauge locomotive

77 109 (ex 77 009) is the second modernized narrow gauge diesel locomotive of BDZ. The modernization was carried out by Express service locomotive workshop in Ruse (Bulgaria). Although the locomotive is looking pretty much the same, after the modernization it has brand new diesel engine, cabs, body shells and control units. In the video the 77 109 is leaving Varvara station with fast train 1661 on 7 January 2024.
Unfortunately at this moment the first modernized narrow loco - 77 102 (ex 77 002) is not in operation. The locomotive hydraulic gearbox has been damaged and should be repaired.

77 109 (бивш 77 009) е вторият модернизиран теснолинеен дизелов локомотив на БДЖ. Модернизацията е изпълнена от локомотивния завод Експрес Сервиз разположен край гр. Русе. Въпреки че локомотивът изглежда почти същия като преди модернизацията, всъщност се различава по това, че е екипиран с изцяло нов, съвременен дизелов двигател, нови кабини, нов корпус и блокове за управление. Във видеото локомотива напуска гара Варвара с бърз влак 1661 на 7 януари 2024 г.

It's great to see the new loco in action. How many more will they -build- modernise?

So far only these two - 77 102 and 77 109. Whether there will be more depends on BDZ. If BDZ want, Express Service can modernize also class 75.
