The pencil is a reference to something that happens in the John Wick movies, since you had a John Wick themed mystery box. The stippled rectangle area above the trigger is when you use a thumbs forward grip on your pistol.
I saw this box when it was going on sale. I thought it was pretty cool but didnt decide to do it because it was too much spending. I'm glad you got it though and I get to watch you unbox it :D
I know its purpose, I just never really found myself reloading the JW4 or JW3 faster with that mag well vs reloading a typical hi-capa or handgun. In my opinion I typically like not having a giant mag well unless the grip is extended lower than the width of my hand, I find it uncomfortable pressing on my hand compared to there being nothing. Also I have seen the first John Wick movie.
