I have been a rescue diver for 30 years now. I know of a shipwreck off the coast of Washington State. That holds 5 crates of raw uncut opium sealed in beeswax. Was unable to get funding. Sank Nov 4th 1874 Opium houses were all up and down the western seaboard

You lookrled for funding in the wrong places. You would need to core a crate to see if it is still viable. There are boats out there with tons of gold inboard. You will not find modern records online saying so but I have a book that lists each when it went down and it's cargo manifest.

… and that kind of honesty would most likely, in the U.K. at least, result in you ending up in prison for theft of Sovereign or National Treasure Troves! All discoveries of treasure belong to the Monarch and must be reported to the local Coroner’s office. Let me know what your prison visiting hours are!

@insideoutsideupsidedown2218 basically rhetorical question. Making a point. You can understand that. It's pointless the bloke asking why the Spaniards never returned the treasure to the Incas. The conquerors conquer and were in the business like mining companies do in a more hidden "p.c." manner nowadays. I'm Australian so cannot tell you what parts and to what first nations were removed from their traditional areas or where the areas geo boundaries were. However the government does this. They took this nation from our First nations and are digging their heels in about making a treaty nowadays as the Gov recognises they will need to address the wrongs. They already have native title and get immense royalties in mineral rich country. Just saying.

I personally held 12 Roman coins found by the shrimp boat in the gulf of Mexico. Once reported, the gov took control, and no one has ever found out exactly how much was found. Spain took possession of the gold from what I remember. If you find anything of value, shut up and retire. That's what everyone involved does after they take over.
