Sholazar Basin - Music & Ambience - World of Warcraft

- Sholazar Basin is a self-contained environment where the world-shaping titans allowed their creations to roam and flourish. Shielded from the Scourge by a powerful magical barrier, the basin has remained a haven from the undead. It is viewed by many of Northrend's embattled races as a kind of promised land.

I said goodbye to a dear friend here in Sholazar. One of those 'life' moments. We said we would stay in touch but life had other plans. I was moving server to play with college friends. There was no such thing as cross-realm back then, and my time spent online was mostly spent on my main. I tried going back a few times but we kept missing each other.
This will no doubt sound corny to some but it held significance for me. We had a long chat. It was pretty intense, actually. We both realized in that moment what that friendship meant. She threw me a Haunted Memento and then I got on my mount and flew off. I panned the camera around one last time as I flew and watched her avatar fade.
Golden years. Great friendships.
May the gale wings carry you...
Tottally get your feelings.. in the end all wow friends go like this..
Damn man. I am most likely much much older than you. Play WoW too. Still, off and on. I sincerely hope you don't count this, in your later years, as perhaps a massive missed opportunity to have met your significant other. Don't ever get to my age and have that kind of regret. It sucks. Trust me.
This hurts to read, I know this feeling well
@Breadman tnx to share your story,it is not strange for me.. :)
Underrated tunes. Grizzly Hills is rightly considered as one of the most iconic soundtracks in WoW, but Sholazar will always have a special charm to me.
Ohhh, I love this part so much, so many memories☺️☺️ 16:17
Vlad Marian Barna CAN'T STOP WHISTLING 😚😚😫
Haha yesss! I loved zoning into this over and over!
Same here brother!
What have you done. Me too now
That was one of the reasons i stayed in sholazaar for too long :D
2024 - my favorite zone still bring nostalgia. WoW 11 expansion around the corner and yet THIS...feel home !
Don't forget to buy and check mysterious egg. I have a feeling that this time green protodrake will hatch.
After 50 intents: this time it will be hatch I swer it XD
I’ve been exalted with them since WotLK and I still haven’t gotten it to this day lmao
I'm sorry to say that I got it from my first egg :]
I got mine on my birthday after the 10th try.
One of the best Bdays ever, sad when I say that out loud. But true.
I got it so fast back in the days, probably 3-4 eggs
Just flying around the bowl mining...around and around and around and around...
This song was playing at Disney’s animal kingdom lmfao I recognized it immediately was like “this song is from WoW...”
😂 nice
lol that's great. some old wotlk player must have thought hey.. i know the perfect jungle music
Blizzard music is used everywhere, it’s amazing where and when you’ll hear it. 💚
@@DharmaDerelict It really is, was surprised a few times.
If that's true, then I'm pretty sure that's copyright infringement.
16:18 this whistling is soul touching.
Chills every fucking time
01:11 my fav. part, it just feels like going trough Sholazar Basin exploring....
It's one of the only soundtracks that can make me shed a tear. So beautiful...
@@Hakohn2511 i shed a tear as i read this comment :')
Runescape vibes
I logged out my WoW-Character in this zone ... 9 years ago and never came back ... time flows.
Edit: Thaks everyone for the likes, you are awesome!
:(
You definitely quit at WoW's peak, be happy you didn't watch your favorite game crumble into garbage over the coming years
Maybe you can come back for Classic LK.
@@MJG206 Hello, thanks for your feedback. I have to refuse, too many things passed. But these 2 years, I played this game, were great enough for me.
Hours upon hours were spent here camping Loque'nahak, this theme and other friendly hunters made it bearable :)
I can't imagine , 10 years already.... Nostalgia strikes....
Vanilla WoW started it all for me and WotLK finished it with style. I never really bothered much with later expansions - my heart stayed in Icecrown, just like Arthas' did, lol at the correlation:).
Thank You for all the awesome vids, the feels they bring are impossible to describe and impossible to understand for people who haven't experienced WoW in the "old" days.
Whats worth saying, the music of WoW has always been a crown jewel, across all expansions actually, thou we always cling to the parts we loved the most. Scholazar, Storm Peaks, Icecrown, Grizzly Hills, Howling Fjord... Epic places filled with epic ambience and music. Memories just come pouring in an instant.
Green Proto-Drake farm and the moment it finally "hatched" from that damned egg...
Time-Lost Proto-Drake farm - testing the limits of how long you can stay awake...
Farming Herbs in Storm Peaks and Icecrown...
These will never fade away, just as the awesome non-repeatable moments from Vanila and TBC. As Le Ameriga Bear wrote - you listen for a hwile and you can literaly see yourself logging on, turning on TS and going for levelling/farming/dungeon spam with guildies. #neverforget
Hopefully Official Vanila servers will spark a new wave of legacy content being availible to players and we may yet see official TBC and WotLK servers come to life. Let's hope.
Classic is back! If you still read this go back to worldofwar ft.com
"Of Sholazar, I can tell you this: In Northrend, where so much of the land is cold, bleak, and dead, The Basin brings a welcomed vibrancy back to one's senses. But have a care, for within this welcoming oasis of life is all of nature's primal ferocity. Breathe in deeply the citric and florid scents, but do so quietly..."
All I could remember from this zone is the Hemet Nesingwary's hunting quest.
Thank-you for these videos. Truly a game that was more than just a 'game' at the time. Love it!
1:10 my heart just drops hearing this
that whistling part is what really makes it, so damn good.
More than a decade.. I used to go to sholazar, just to chill and let go.. I used to cry sometimes. Now in 2020 I am putting my new born son to sleep with this track.
@@mando2908 Year 2021, Thank you, yes everything is fine little one is growing healthy. I hope you have peace and happiness these songs describe
One of the best songs and zones of the entire game.
28:00 so mystic, love that part
Truuueeee banger
Hours and hours farming Sholazar Basin when WOTLK first came out. Got Server First Herbalist and missed Server First Mining by minutes since I kept running into un-farmable Titanium nodes. Literally had a monopoly on the entire zone for a week! As a result, got Server First, Blacksmith due to the hoards of Saronite I was gathering. Needless to say, this music brings back memories!
beautiful
wow, I'm here early. what should I say?
best place to level.
the atmosphere is 11/10 and you get goosebumps from time to time.
I used to come back just to listen to the music, it's a wonderful place to explore on a mount or on foot. both are different and exciting lol
One of my favourite zones, for sure! Spent quite a lot of relaxing hours there, which have now become very fond memories.
32:16 Best Part... used to farm and mine in this for hours 😎👍
Some people say Classic is home, but for me Northrend, especially Sholazar was home :) thousands of hours spend to farm herbs, listening to this amazing soundtrack.. i hope Blizzard will ewentually release Wrath again
It's back. Are you playing?
They're bringing northrend back in the next expansions, you'll have your time again
Many hours spent ganking, fishing, and just hanging at the Basin! One of my favorite places. Thanks for doing these videos.
great memories listening to this music while camping for loque'nahak. quickly became one of my favorite zones right next to grizzly hills :)
This is, and will ever be, my favorite zone. The music is on point and gives such a melancholic/nostalgic feeling...
Ah i remember running around looking for fruits to make liquor, hunting animals with Hemet and his buddies & helping the avatar of Freya...it's been so long yet still these memories never fade.
I started wow at pre-wotlk...i have so many beautiful memories tied to place its hard to form it into words.
Kudos for this fantastic video!
Your channel is such a little gem. When I'm not using my second monitor while working I'll have the videos up playing and it's even more relaxing. Not sure what else to say other than keep on doing your thing :)
It's interesting people like to think the game means less now. Some people might argue otherwise, but I think WoWs music is always consistently amazing.
I don't think the music is what they're upset about. But I agree that the music is still great and that WoW hasn't gotten any less WoW than before.
Kids that played Vanilla first will say that Vanilla was the best. Kids that played Wotlk first will say that Wotlk was the best. Kids that played Legion first will say Legion was the best. It just depends on when did you first experience the amazing game.
Its not the game but the people. We don't like change & want to relive past memories of "better times."
this music brings me back to when I was much younger. beautiful
Time flies... doesn't it? To think i was a 16 years old teenager a moment ago, now i'm a 24 years old grown ass adult. The memories of this game will never fade for me. Sad truth, is that the game will probably die soon, with all of Blizzard's new problems about the sexual misconducts and stuff.
I like the music of Sholazar Basin very much! Quite unique and make me feel peaceful. Thank you for making this! I miss the days doing all kinds of quests there.
Never stop Everness! You're the best!
💛
Omg Sholazar
plis Feralas or Winterspring next
Everness hello there ! nice video as every time but can you do record It at 60 fps ?
the fact that you seem to like and enjoy what you're doing in full detail is what makes your channel an oasis! keep it up ;)

7.DUSTWALLOW MARSH
8.LOCH MODAN
9.UN'GORO CREATER
10.J ,DONT KNOW.....
Personal favourite jungle in wow.
The music, layout, quests and absolutely stunning change in scenery from the other WOTLK zones make this just amazing!
Every time i listen the starting theme...i cry....♥♥♥
Always come back to listen to some of these Warcraft tunes every so often having played so much between 2006-2010. So many friends, such a carefree happy time. Would always whisper my eldest Sister who also played on the same Server whenever I got the quest "An embarassing Incident" on my toons from this zone. Jokingly telling her to stop losing her keys here, cos I had to keep finding them. She sadly died of Cancer 4 years ago but the memories will always live on. Rest in Peace, Vicky. For the Alliance!. :'(
This music is nostalgic because I used to farm for ore for hours in this zone when I was working on my warrior. Crazy to think it was almost 15 years ago.....
I recall reaching a point, 3 max level druids, dungeons, instanc 4:12 es, etc. ...where I just logged on to go fishing. This was a good place for that.
..and if you want to join a raid, "I got fish feasts" makes everything more fun.
Blizzard should buy some land, develop it into zones like this and Nagrand and rent it out as vacation spots.
Would be a dream to be killed by a crocolisk :)
holiday is going great relaxing in nagrand then suddenly you're teleported back home and you're told you have been disconnected from the server
Or we could just go outside and explore Earth. Fantasy is based on reality.
@@Nicolae_Mew Show me those floating islands with their infinite water source in the real world.
@@Gegi1992 Why don't you show me a picture of Africa or Asia. Tell me about all the time you've spent outside.
I started playing WoW again after quitting before WotLK came out. So I never really experienced those days nor did I know this zone even existed. I went to Dolanar to find some quests outside of The Battle of Azeroth which led me here. The music really caught my eye and the tropical feeling. Reminds me of Dragonfly Falls from Spyro a Hero's Tale which I spent HOURS on as a kid due to how relaxing it was. I'd even fall asleep to the music and scenery. Now I'm going to fall asleep to this tonight after spending literally all day in the area.
Lucky you, i wish i could play still...
10:20 so mystic!
I want to live in a jungle community lookin like that
The whistle 😭❤️
I remember in France on a theme park ride, it was playing the STV music
My favorite Zone just absolutely beautiful like a vacation spot love it all
Thank you so much Everness for these videos! They've helped me a lot during my exams month. Keep it up mate , you are doing an amazing job.
Thank you, Everness. Thank you so much for your effort!
goo.gl/O3ZdIi
Love you man! :D
Thank you BASED Basin for helping me study.
I did a lot of fishing in these waters. Stalked and caught my Loque'nahak. Picked purty flowers. Did loads of 5man dungeons with my RL friends. Ah it was nice. We all went our separate ways afterward, and I just never go into it again after Wrath. Sad to say. But i LOVE these vids so much. Thank you, Everness.
Thank you for watching and listening to them!
I've never even played WoW and I love these vids.
It goes to show you that WoW was more than just a game. It was an experience! I never played anything but the in-game music when playing because it was so amazing.
Helois Gevit Still you're getting a very special part of what this "world" was my friend
Well that brings up some questions. If you've never played WoW, how do you know about these videos? And if you love the videos, how come you haven't gone out and bought WoW to play? They actually have private servers you can play for free. You just download the game from the server online. No running to the store needed.
I was waiting for this one! Thanks a lot! :D
This and Grizzly Hills are my favorites from WOW
Yezzirrr
This should at least have twice the views, one of the best zones and soundtrack in the game IMO
I love this place and this music is so calming. Great channel, World of Warcraft has some of the best music in a game. It's rivaled by only one other game music I know of, Secret of Mana.
Frenzyheart Tribe forever! I loved the dynamic quest between those two factions. Made questing through this zone so much more lively before the agonizing grind that was Icecrown
Woooow. I had forgotten about this song. I remember thinking to myself it reminded me of ffxi style music. Love this one.
FINALLY!! The best song with any doubts!
The eerie music, especially around the 16:16 mark, just had so much atmosphere. You will not find music like this anywhere in the more recent zones. Sad to say. With this music and the lush landscape you can actually close your eyes and imagine you are there!
zuldazar : bruh
Zuldazar had amazing atmosphere, go listen to the Zuldazar Jungle music.
"When I went this far north, that last thing I expected was a jungle" - Moonborne the Worgen.
Best moments in this place just vibing and and learning the secrets of Spirit beasts. My main achievement is to catch them all every color and everything. I promised myself that I will have all spirit beasts and be grateful that I put in a lot of time working to achieve that goal. Hope the the rest of those main Beast Mastery hunters out there like myself find these rare creatures.
32:15 peace and nostalgia❤️
Fire 1-4 (10:15 - 14:28) are my favorites, especially 4. The low buzzing really give the feeling of dread. These tracks also play in Elunaria in the Antorus raid, perfect placement.
I love the new age-y pipe and drum style but then rounded out by the progressive electronic music. Very fitting considering Sholazar Basin's origins.
God this rings in my head when I zone out. Spent manymany hours here farming titanium for mechanohogs.
i remember this zone very well
Me - Ok i have to do some quest now...Oh look Sarointe, Oh look titanium, oh look Tigers lilly
I had a spiritual awakening during this soundtrack.. that its all for fun
back when I played wotlk as a dk I would always be in this zone doing dailies and what not just because I really liked the zone and ambience. I would often fish there as well
I spent so much time in the basin befriending first the Oracles for an egg to get the green protodrake mount, and then the Frenzyheart tribe (who i called the racoon people) to get one of their cubs as a pet. It was so cool discovering Nesingwary here, as a call back to Stranglethorn. And oh, the saronite!
remember all my char reaches 78/80 in here love this place. love the music. mining here for ages campibg the spirit beast for days and nights.
great momery and good time never.came.back.
wow changed and I changed.
just above that waterfall to the left, our guild took our screen shot of us riding the mounts we achieved from a heroic raid. dont remember but i do remember my monnt was a black dragon netherlike and i remember those waterfall and this spot!
Sholazar Basin... So many memories. I played my beloved Human Paladin since Classic and i remember one day i couldnt login. I tried several times, my heart was beatin like hell. I ran to my Dads PC, logged in and saw MY PALADIN ONLINE on fathers friendlist and he was in Sholazar. It feels like yesterday, i followed my own character hours and hours with my dads character...it breaked my heart, fckn hacker flew around with MY protodrake and digged the whole day the good saronit iron. The most horrible hours of my life - got my Char and whole Inventory back after 1 day of GM Ticket 🙏
God I love this zone 💕 💕 🌲🌴🌿🎋🍁thanks man
My best music of the place in World Of Warcrafr since 2008 :>
21:40 reminds me of Freya... nostalgia hurts
the jungle levels in wow are the best, by far
I had my turtle here! So Lucky. I love his song so much...
What a wonderful zone
You can feel this music deep within the soul
i love this Area...
Farming borean leather here for hours, just enjoying the music... Damn this game is something more than any other games
Wonderful background music for coding, thank you so much for what you're doing, Everness!
coders are the new vegans
:)
Wonderful background music for fapping, thank you so much for what you're doing, Everness!
Dios que genial es la música de World of warcraft
i wanna live in sholazar forever !
16:14 La mejor parte 🤧
The zone I spent the most time in and enjoyed the most in Northrend.
27:25 has distinct EVE Online feel. And the whole thing is very spacey.
16:13 king!
reminds me so much of final fantasy, love it
Oooooooooooooooooooooo.... my heart is melting
Best of all times
music of the creation
i love this one
my favorite zone
This zone i spent a lot of time in grinding the rep for oracles. I started playing wow back in 2020 and it was such a magical experience. Since it was lockdown i had loads of time to play and experince wow. I played classic to wrath. Playing wow for the first time and seeing the zones and the unique atmospheres its something so special but you only get to experience it once. Now i dont really play wow as much but the music is really good and magical. I Will never forget wow and how it was such a unique journey. (yes my pfp is a baby crismon whelp i grinded them). I started early 2020 and played up until 2022 basically. wow i would say is one of the best games. Very unique just a shame what has happened to wow.
i wanna go back i wanna go back i wanna go back i wanna go back
05:00. That spot in the back where the water comes from. Behind that ship is a little plateau before the ocen begins. This is exactly where my Druid "rests.
I remeber when I (unknowingly) logged off wow for the last time it always bothered me that my characters where left wherever they happened to be. After a while WoW had a "come back and try the new stuff for free" offer. I downloaded wow again (which took forever with my bandwith... lol) and all I did was put my characters to a place where they can rest peacfully.
My druid(main) ended up here in sholazar basin. My Paladin ended up next do A'dal. The priest is overwatching that complex of dungeons where you could drop the An'zu mount (dont even remember the name lol...). I dont remember the other ones.
Its so weird having to see the rest of Northrend, either a frozen waste land, an icy troll zone, and a reasonable cold forest biome, and suddenly a tropical zone with rainbows, and waterfalls, and palm trees.
