- WWE legend Kevin Von Erich spoke to "Extra's" Megan Ryte at the Dallas, Texas world premiere of "Iron Claw," which tells his family's story. Kevin said that Zac Efron, who plays him in the movie, didn't need to get any advice from him, remarking, "He's really something else."
“I had 5 brothers, now I’m not a brother anymore.” That scene it me the most. God bless you Kevin & your whole family
Same. I sat through the whole movie and didn’t shed a single tear until he said that.
God bless Kevin Von Erich, he's truly an inspiration. A great wrestler who managed to stay positive after all these years. Being a wrestling role model, a father, husband, uncle, and a grandparent to his whole family. Even after losing all his brothers to drugs, suicide, & an accident because of the sport they ALL trained for.
Wow 👌 and he definitely is an uncle. To all those kids that were left behind.
I love Kevin Von Erich he is a tough SOB
Great interview 👍🏽 👏 👌. Would love to see this movie 🎬 🎞
Man, this interview is moving me to tears. This man has strong faith! Love ya Kev!
Man, what a gentle yet strong soul. God Bless the Von Erich family.
This man buried four of his brothers within the span of 10 yrs.
God bless the Von Erichs
The only Von Erich left. Kevin is a legend and his boys down in MLW have a bright future.
The legacy continues though. Kevin has two great boys and Kerry left behind two amazing young women who I am sure will go on to do wonderful things with their lives!
@alecaquino4306 idk if Lacey ever comes back to wrestling tho.
As much as I'd love to have her in AEW or a TNA return, idk how she feels about wrestling in 2023. Girlie hasn't been in the public eye since she left TNA. So who knows but her coming back to wrestling would be a lot of fun.
@@SamuelDuplessis12 Seeing Lacey back would be great to see! But seeing her happy in whatever industry she chooses to pursue in life would be just as nice after everything her family went through. I know you feel the same :)
God bless him. I hope this film does his family and himself justice ❤
Bless you Kev
One of the things I loved about the Von Erich was how tough they were not wrestling wise. If anyone in the business disrespected them cause Fritz was their dad they settled right quick
Great interview. I saw it on Christmas, such a great movie, sad at times but great. U could tell from the watching it that his family (wife and kids) saved his life and u could feel the love that he had with his brothers. Really good film.
Being a Von Erich back in the day, I was alittle worried about about this movie. However, seeing Kevin and his blessing about the movie, made me more excited about it.
Towards the end of this interview, Kevin got me!!! God bless you Kevin, with all you went through. Can't wait to see the movie!
I love how Kevin turns to the camera to give his message at the end. Cares about the viewers.
Im proud to call that man My Really Good Friend/ Older Brother i never had ... over the past 30 years ive traveled with him ... Worked for him and even lived with him for a time after his Dad passed in 97 ,.. most importantly however Ive learned from him .... In private he is EXACTLY what you just saw in this interview... If this movie wins a thousand oscars ..... It won't go to his Head one bit . .. GOD really did me a favor when he crossed our paths back in May of 1993.
Wonderful, touching interview. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie.
Our favorite wrestling family. Long live the VON ERICHS. GOD BLESS YOU KEVIN 🙏 AND YOUR FAMILY
I should probably be thinking of Kevin Von Erich everytime I feel down. What an inspiration.
After everything this man has dealt with he has remained a humble and class act.
Great interview. Thank you!
I would love to meet Kevin Von Erich. Just a strong man
Can’t wait to see this movie.
I watched the movie yesterday. Great sad/emotional moving movie. Must see, wrestling fan or not.. it's really good 👍
What a touching message by Kevin at the end there.
God bless the Von Erich Family ❤
Von Erich s forever! They were more than wrestling. IDK of any other wrestlers that bring people together more than them. Von Erich's forever!
Von Erichs forever 🤘🤘🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
God bless the Von Erichs i saw them when i was a kid and Kev was the nicest one besides Fritz that i met my ex step dad did security for Will rogers auditorium in Fort worth.
A great movie very emotional about these Von Erich wrestlers!!!!😊❤ Puerto Rico (USA) 🇵🇷🇺🇲
I watched a interview he did while he was living in Hawaii and this guy is still climbing trees at 60 something barefoot! 😲
Kevin you are such an inspiration to others / Keeping The Faith 💥
I can not wait to see this !!! Kevin is a beast!
This December 22 I'm excited cause my Grandma Eula Mae & I Absolutely ❤ Wrestling back in the Territory era. I would make the belts, have 3,Boxes of PWI dating back to 1977. Haven't been to the movies in a along time & 2023 is how I want to end this year.😢.
I'm blessed to have grown up in st louis and enjoy the greatest Era of wrestling
I sure remember "Wrestling at the Chase".
Von Erichs live on ‼️🔥💯
I have loved Kevin von Erich since i was 9 yrs old ...hes still hot lol god bless him and texas
Despite all the tragedy, that’s the best wrestling era there ever was.
Yes I totally agree with you, so many of the great wrestlers we're still around back then. Glad he's still around to keep his family's legacy going.🙏
How can they make this film and not reach out to the only surviving Von Erich? Kevin is a good, humble man!
One of the highlights of my 2023 has been the resurgence of the Von Erichs back into the public consciousness. Kerry Von Erich was the John McEnroe of professional wrestling.
Kevin is a LEGEND.
Kevin Von Erich 🔥💯🔥💯💯🔥🔥💯🙏🙏🤘🤘👍‼️‼️‼️
At the end of the day what keeps us going is family.
Class act that Kevin.
Sometimes asking forgiveness isnt enough. We gotta pay the price to bring balance to Universe.
This era in human history is something different.
I heard about the Von Erichs only in 2k17
I cant wait for this. I've watched that trailer 20x easy
happy that he got mainstream media attention lately
A true hero in the face of adversity- Kevin is inspiring. My advice to Zac would have been to ease up on the bronzing lotion, LOL!
🙏🙏🙏‼️🔥💯
Good sign
The guy playing Kerry looks 75 lbs lighter than Kerry (: would have to really suspend reality to make it work. Idk but the dude looks 'maybe' 180 and Kerry looks to be around 250-265 depending on what year. Kevin was one of the best to ever do it. The dude is like a modern day Tarzan.
There is a story that Vince McMahon wanted Kerry Gene to be his starring wrestler instead of Terry Gene.
Things could have been so different.
I honestly don't like what Kevin is doing, constantly defending his father. Him making this movie is pretty much still somewhat adhering to his father's pimp doctrine of trying to make yourself into the biggest star possible at any cost.
The movie is solid, but the story is beyond depressing and it's clear the relationship with the father isn't good. Maybe not hate him like a monster, but find him completely foreign is the trick. Speaking like a child of abusive, alcoholic and authoritative, selfish parents. But I wouldn't defend him.
I love Kevin but out of his mouth he told stories about Fritz point a gun at him. Saying, Fritz told him doesn’t have the guts to kill himself. Those are his words.
Yeah, but he was still his father.
It's hard to totally condemn someone that raised you or is a family member. Especially when they are not here anymore.
Fritz also had brain cancer at that time too
Yeah it turns out that family relationships can be very complicated. Be happy that you don't have a clue!
These were real wrestlers not that wwe fake crap
I know it’s his father and his family and I know that’s complicated.
But when your father pushes all your brothers to an early death then he is a tyrant. You can love your kids and still be a monster
Kevin is skin and bones,
