I'm glad it helped - Hope you're happy with the joolca! It seems like all of these camping toilets have their own nuances and pros/cons. The joolca seems like a great option 👍
Thanks for that - have the Jolla but haven’t used it yet. For the price and option of chemical or compost it is pretty impressive. Just waiting for the mounting bracket so I can fix it into the caravan.
Thanks for watching! We're testing the Trelino on a month+ long trip to really get a feel for it. We're hoping to bring each on a long trip and then do another review.
@@DrifterJourney leaving to Baja for 15 days this Saturday our annual holiday trip, we’re going all over baja staying couple of nights in each location
Another thing to consider is where your toilet finds its home in your van. A permanent cupboard space will need space behind the toilet to open lid or if, like me, you tuck it into a cubby to store when not in use and pull it into the isle to use-. You’ll be dragging it back and forth and when it’s full of 2 gals of pee =16# and poo bag=5#. Weight is something to consider - is the unit made well enough and and with handles so a 40# toilet can be dragged back and forth. Currently I use a bucket with a funnel to a gallon jug and a couple of Walmart bags in the back. But considering something manufactured.
Definitely! It's funny how much goes into such a simple thing that most people don't think about. The things learned while living alternatively are priceless. Sounds like you know what's up.
Thanks for watching! I'm assuming the prices were a surprise in the wrong direction? If so, we understand. We did 5 years in our van with a home depot bucket with Nalgenes for our #1. It's definitely not as convenient but is the most budget friendly. I'd love to see these all come in at under $200 personally. My guess is high initial upfront costs for tooling and development is what makes them as expensive as they are.
I know right! I finally broke down and bought a proper urine diverter plastic piece for my bucket and was shocked it was $60. If someone had a 3D printer they could make a killing selling them at $25.
I'm not a van camper user. Just use the Joolca non-chemical verson in an off grid cabin, 2-3 x/ mo. for a few days at time for 2 people. Works exactly what I need it for and is simple to use. Just burn the pooper portion in biogreadable bags before we leave. simple. . I usually just pee outside behind a tree 90% of the time but there are no regulation issues w that. the trelino looks like something you put together in from a mix/mash of buckets from Walmart- zero thought behind it.
Glad you like the joolca. It seems to be very popular. Agree with you about the trelino - it's pretty basic for what it costs. But for those who want a simple setup and don't feel comfortable with a bucket, it's a good option
It's our preference too, but with how crowded some areas have become, cat holes are no longer a sustainable solution. Or, in places like the beaches in Baja, it would take a long time to break down so we follow the pack-it-in, pack-it-out rule.
I bought a Joolca Gottago and am excited to start using it. Love the flexibility for chemical and compost / bag options
Thanks for watching! The Joolca really seems to be a good balance of cost and features.
Thanks! I just bought a Joolca and the info about the sticky urine level valve is good to know!

Completely surprised by the prices

@@DrifterJourney you should have added your set up in the review.
@michele2017promastertravel maybe that's my calling. 😉
@michele2017promastertravel our nalegenes are a little worse for wear these days so we try to keep them off screen.
Joolca are coming out with a floor mount plate in the near future for van use
Thanks for sharing. That would be very helpful with avoiding a tip over in that scenario.
great vid people just bourht a gotta go
Thanks for watching! We hope you enjoy it......as much as anyone can enjoy a camp toilet.
I got educated on toilets how to use a bucket and a bag those are two fancy for me lol
Thanks for watching! They definitely have some bells and whistles that the bucket doesn't have.

Best camp toilet is a shovel
