I've been a small paving contractor for 45 years and I've had several of these pavers . They do a great job for small work ,you can do paving projects with as few as three guys if trained right, that puts more cash in your pocket. Make no mistake on large jobs bigger machines are faster ,but mid size and small there money makers.

Love this Ol boy running this paver he is so relaxed and obviously has paved many a mile. Just bought an old Puckett T450 and brought it home yesterday. I look forward to emulating 1/2 of what guy knows. Would love to work for him for a while and learn from him. Lots of punks thinking they are hot S**t posting comments here. As an excavation contractor for the past 30 years I have had the privilege of watching many a paving crew. Anyone who can keep that beard clean paving knows what hes doing.

The Puckett is a great little machine for the money. She does just as good a job as a lot of other machines in it's class if not better, for half the purchase price. It's light, easy to transport and gets into some tight spots. Disadvantage no full extension screed on the wings. She'll shoot 300 tons a day comfortable. More than enough for a small two or three truck operation. You'll get 5 or 6 good years out of it with little to no problems. After that there junk, you'll just start sinking money into it. Don't hesitate get rid of it and get a new one, Very expensive to re condition and not worth it in my opinion. It's a money maker, highly recommend it for guys just getting started.

They're really great machines for driveways and small parking lots. We have a model 540 which is the 8-12 foot machine that we use almost daily. We bought it used for almost nothing, sandblasted it, painted it, and it looked like new. I think the most we've put down in one day with it is around 300 tons. Next small paver we get will probably be a model 580 Puckett or a 650 Mauldin.

We still have an old Puckett A T450 cranking and it still dos a gat job. Not as good as the 580 in this video but pretty good for a piec of paving equipment that's that old.
