Nick is in my top four fave drummers, still gotta go with Purdie and Jordan as all stars but Nick and Carter McLean tied for third. Hope that compliment translates.
Beautiful rings! Any thoughts on the the older "Super Sensitive" Ludwig snare drums? I always loved the thick and snapped sound that the drummer for Bachman-Turner Overdrive (and I'm showing my age, here - but I was never a fan of the band except for the one or two hit songs they had). But their drummer had a 6 and 1/2 Super Sensitive snare drum that ALWAYS sounded so good. Their tech miced it so perfectly and it always had a low, deep smack and the snares always sounded so good! Any ideas?
Damn Nick. Talk about getting off on a drum set. It seems like every time I see one of your videos, your skills just seem to multiply. The snare is impressive, but the snare playing even more so!
I have played/ owned many different brands. It is subjective for the most part for what each drummer is searching. Ludwig has a particular sound not replicated by other companies. Whether you think it is better is personal. When I switch out from my other snares and lay into my Ludwig, there is that immediate sound recognition that clicks. I love my other snares but the Ludwig is particularly rewarding to play. Would love to try this 6.5...
I have both drums in 6.5 and while love the Superphonic, I'm finding myself wanting to use the Copperphonic more. it is a very versatile, great sounding and playing snare drum.
@@nickavenoso7851 The Price is a lot but besides the sound it is a beautiful drum. Much better looking than a Black Beauty. And having had a Black Beauty, l like the sound of the Copper phonic better.
That synth lead really distracts from the beautiful sound of the copperphonic snare I'm trying to hear, not to mention all the random toms in the background of the music.
I think Ludwig knew they had a dud withe these Copperphonic pewter snares. I got one and returned it. Awful. Kept my Black Beauty and Raw Copperphonic.
Do you mind elaborating why it was so bad? I'm currently debating on buying it but would appreciate real world user experience with it if possible. Thanks
@@tobyvattilano7846 It was a mess of overtones, wouldn't sound good even changing heads and wires, did not measure up to my Copperphonic or BB. There was nothing clean about it. Buy at your own risk.
Give your kit the dark, punchy snare with rich, complex overtones it deserves! Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!
You not only watch these videos for the fantastic gear showed, but also for Nick's incredible playing.
Really cool brush work what a fantastic snare drum line up
This man can make a video on chopsticks and I’m watching
Those drums sound fabulous... and anything Nick plays sound awesome...
Beautiful music, sound and video. Thanks Nick and Sweetwater family.
Could listen to Nick play all day :)
Nick for president awesome 👏 thanks 😊
Man Nick can play with 2 pieces of spaghetti & would sound good.
Just a phenomenal talent &of course a stand up guy!
Yeah I really enjoy his approach on drumming and laying down licks. Enjoy his playing as much as hearing the beautiful snares.
Cooked spaghetti too!
I love this snare. Fantastic beyerdynamic mics. My favourite brand!!

The track you're playing to kicks ass. love your playing Nick!

Get both!!!
So true. Every set should have two snares.
mrbigg7255 Absolutely! Or....Maybe...Six?😏

Great playing Nick.
Fantastic :)
Great playing. Great drums! Very nice.
Love . That. Sound.
I am amazed by the sound of the x6.5 one.. The price is on that range too though..
Yeah they sound great, but $700-$800 for a snare? No thank you 😂
The black beauty snare from Ludwig is available of 14x5 inch deep and a 14x6.5 in deep
Phenomenal
Thanks and Blessings Nick! Merry Christmas 2020 Sweetwater!
Beautiful cracking sound. 👍🏿
Drier than the normal Ludwig Copper..
Nice but I like superphonic more. Great drumming!!

@@dancalabrese3523 But the price is just crazy for the Copperphonic Snare, 700-$800 for a snare drum, but I agree, they sound really great.

@@dancalabrese3523 Yeah, it sounds great, it’s hard to choose a favorite though, because both the Black Beauty and the Copperphonic sound really nice.
@@nickavenoso7851 Yes. Nothing sounds or plays like Ludwig's metal snare drums.
ey man!! this sound is sou nice
buttery drumming like always
You usually do different tunings. What happened😢😢
❤️🥁❤️
Nice looking/sounding drum............ and they should be for $800!
Nice, but at those prices vs the Ludwig Black Beauty, I'll take the Black Beauty.

Nice drums. Nick would sound fantastic playing cardboard boxes too. Just sayin...

“ Get both”
More than 900€ for this... anyway skip to 6:25
The demo lacks the tuning range.

well I rather like the drummer better than the snares.......great drummer
excuse me?
Great player, but SUPER-nerdy music....😊
I understand it's just for sampling. Would love to see full band demos....
That music is really annoying.
