I had forgotten how to do twisted stocking stitch, I learned ion England years ago. I am fascinated by the fact that a lot of these videos show the knitter with the yarn in the left hand. Mine is always on the right. So what is this left handed yarn called? And are there tutorials?
Hi! I am not familiar with a stitch called broken stockinette. If it is worked the same way as shown here for twisted stockinette, then it is the same. There are no set names for stitches. The same stitch can be called different names by different people. If you compare a few stitch dictionaries, you're likely to find that the same stitches are named something different in every book. Makes it hard to track down instructions for the stitch you're looking for. :-)
@@iknitwithcatfur Gosh thanks for replying and for that information! I hope it’s the same because your tutorial is very clear, well demonstrated and easy to follow.
thank you for the comment about the curl!
Could you post suggestions for knitting a neck warmer rather than a scarf. Would enjoy your video on this as I do all your others. Thanks!
I will keep the suggestion in mind for the future.
5:08 You're right. In the Treasury of Knitting, she calls the purple sample "twisted stockinette" and the pink sample "crossed stockinette".

Holding the yarn in the left hand is the Continental method. You can find more info in this play list ruclips.net/p/PLD5DA11EF5EB6020F
Twisted stockinette sketch in the round
Is this the same as the broken stockinette stitch?

I wish you would have showed the pink stockinette a little slower on the purl side. You twist the yarn so fast, I can’t see how you do it. Too fast.😢😢
You can change the playback speed by clicking on the gear icon if something seems too fast for you.
