    Great job! Cool config within MobiFlight recreating all the details that are not inside MSFS but the real unit.

    I was 10 years old (44 years ago) when my dad started teaching me to navigate and letting me touch the avionics when we were flying.. we had king silver crown series in panels starting from 1980, and I still run across them regularly.. I remember my dad quoting the ads from flying magazine.. "flip flop is better than hide and seek".. referring to the frequency change in the KX155/165.. when we retrofitted the cardinal RG with all new silver crown avionics.. then he bought a new Mooney 231 with a full Silver Crown stack.. i solo'd and got my private, IFR and commercial in that airplane.. we built a Glasair II-S and put a full stack of Kings in it too.. Nice job on this series.. i'll be building these for my sim.. thx.

    • @CaptainBobSim

      Hello! This is for the LEDs inside of the buttons for backlighting, I did the current math for sets of 4 leds

    • @IgorSilveira
      @IgorSilveira 5 месяцев назад

      @@CaptainBobSim hey again. Still learning about the maths behind electronics. But does that mean that you are providing only approximately 1V to each LED? I assumed a 20mA draw for each

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  5 месяцев назад

      @@IgorSilveira To have it work you'd need to give higher than the forward voltage of the LED (at least 2.7V). I calculated the resistor value to give I believe around 3V, although I don't have my math on me at the moment. You can also use parallel LED resistor calculators online.
      Another option is to just put in random resistors in until it works (starting at a high value and working down). Not very scientific however.

    • @IgorSilveira
      @IgorSilveira 5 месяцев назад

      @@CaptainBobSim I would really appreciate if you could share a wiring diagram, as I am still learning it is not making much sense to me. Are you using the input voltage of the Arduino to power all LEDs (5V)? Cuz if you are wiring them to be 3 parallel sets of 4 in series LEDs at 3V, they'd require a 4*3V = 12V supply at least. But then no resistor would actually be required as the left over voltage would be 0V.
      I am probably looking at this all wrong, but if you could help me understand voltage dropping circuits 🙏
