I remember so clearly as a kid early 80s watching it on TV 📺, all i clearly remember is Thorpe was always leading, every time i watched all you heard was DAVE THORPE LEADING 🇬🇧🤟🤠💯 exceptional skill on a bike with an INSANE level of fitness.
They may have called him mr personality but remember we're all different and the level of concentration needed to be consistent on a bike is seriously hard work ,he was probably constantly thinking how to be faster.
Brilliant times. Before all the politically correct nonsense and Internet BS. Proper racing that sorted the wheat from the chaff, proper terrifying bikes that brought the best out of riders, the heady smell of Castrol R and great fans all round Europe. Awesome times, much missed.
Great video thanks , brings back memories.
