Five rounds into the 1988 world championship and the position at the top was getting tight! Eric Geboers (Honda) was maintaining a winning streak, overhauling Kurt Nicoll (Kawasaki) for second place and closing to within 12 points of Dave Thorpe (Honda). The first heat was held at the spectacular Lombardore track. Consistency over the two legs was lacking for most of the top contenders, would the 'old-firm' head the field

Che stagioni magnifiche di grande motocross....quando la 500 era la classe regina. La pista di Lombardore poi TOP. Questo GP lo vinse Lacher se non erro....

esatto , Lachner era un giovane outsider tra i "mostri" Geboers e Torphe , tempi stupendi della classe regina con la tabella gialla.
Magnifico ... il suono del 2 tempi 🥰 la 500cc poi ti sembra di sentire il singolo colpo del pistone che va su e giù e poi quando si dava gas sembrava una mitragliatrice. 👏👏👏
Altro che le motozappe a quattro tempi di oggi 🤪😂🤣

Thanks for posting the video. Interesting to see how many riders used kidney belts and how much they sat, did not arch their backs, and one rider even dangled both feet off the pegs! My back hurts just watching them!
