Nanaya was connected to the Three Fingers and tried to raise a Lord of Frenzied flame, but they were too weak to absorb the Three Fingers, only their spine survived. She seems to have lead a group of scholars lead by Midra towards studying the flame in another attempt, and unlike most, he was able to retain his sense of self after he was infected as well as absorb a much higher dose of the Frenzy Flame than most. When the Hornsent discovered his research, and the nature of the Frenzy Flame and its power to destroy spirits, they sent the inquisition to eradicate them. Something about this fight feels a great deal more subdued than the other remembrance fights. While those are bombastic fights against skilled warriors and deadly beasts, Midra is just a man in a secluded part of the map who simply wants to be given peace after holding back the Frenzied Flame for years. And the fight itself is slow, eerie, and overall unsettling. It kinda reminds me of the Dancer of the Boreal Valley now that i think about it.

Yes, Midra is the most fair boss fight in the DLC so far. Not too easy, not too hard. His attack are not that erratic and greatly telegraphed. And some of his FF moves are very deadly and can take more than half of your HP. Easily my Top 10 bosses for sure.
@@DaddySaddo The major issues with the final boss isn't that his moves are "unfair", at least most of them aren't, but not in the way you think. but the amount of visual clutter that can easily lead to your view of the boss being obstructed and therefore not being able to properly predict and react to whatever he does next. The amount of times where I lost sight of the boss, because of the light show or his "hair extension", I shall call it. is crazy. they need to do something about that. genuinely has cost me attempts. the rock sling to light-clone attack in the 2nd phase is truly evil, because the rocks flying at you obscure your vision of the boss while he goes into his next attack. By all means this is scummy, if you are not aware of that, you can easily die or lose a big chunk of your health. but overall, after learning his moveset, he becomes a lot easier to handle. I haven't beaten him yet, but so far I have gotten him down to like 1/6 of his health in all my attempts after figuring him out. Me entering his arena with the mark of the three fingers and the frenzied flame eyes + ending : Ok, old man, let us see who's the real deal of frenzy here!. ( he absolute destroyed me the 10 first tries ) But his attacks are so cool and well design that it doesn't feel bullshit, he has a lot of timing and delayed attacks that you can read after some time playing, it's hard ? Sure, but definitely pretty cool and well made.
I find it funny and disturbing that you can find his spine in that mansion. Even more disturbing that it’s a weapon that was being held in his friend’s (girlfriend? Servant?) corpse’s embrace
While I wouldn't rank the actual fight itself among my top 5 (it is still really good, though), Midra definitely takes the cake in terms of pure crazy awesomeness. The design goes unbelievably hard, and the Bloodborne-esque theme music is phenomenal

Isn't his weapon the thing that the lady character was holding in the second trailer for the DLC? In the tower city when Messmer is attacking it. Maybe that's who Nanaya is.
Probably not. The weapon was created by the denizens of the tower, so it was likely an inquisitor wielding a similar weapon.
You can find Nanaya's corpse in the mansion in a small hidden section. She's just his daughter I think.
no that lady and the spiraling weapon is other boss
it was a sword by the golden order's inquisition meant to imprison the lord of flame as a safety protocol for Marika
@@anonanon6963not his daughter actually they seemed more like a couple from that one picture we saw of him, plus she made sure he never ripped that rod out but she's dead now and no longer matter, that is Why Midra and his remembrance both said "endure" the remembrance said that word is like a curse to him
11:20 Every Dragon Ball series after the original one be like
I was really hesitant about fighting Midra because I really like the Abyssal Woods and the fact they had been infected by the Frenzied Flame. I love areas or levels that have this infected lore behind it
When I saw the trailer I knew that no matter what I wanted to figure out what this dude ripping his head off was gonna be. I was expecting madness, maybe he would be the leader and after taking off his head it would teleport you to his domain or smth, but I didn’t expect him to literally be a reference to one of the endings WE AS THE PLAYER can obtain. It was shivering that Vyke and our character weren’t the only two who had access to such overwhelmingly intense madness, especially enough to be called a lord
Use my build at the end of the video if you are a similar or higher level than me and are struggling, Im level 150 in ng+7 and i used Lord of Bloods Exaltation, Rotten Winged Sword Insigna, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman and Ritual Sword Talisman. My wonderous physick flask had Opaline Hardtear and Greenburst Crystal Tear. My gear was two Scavenger’s Occult Curved Sword with the Seppuku ash of war and Occult scaling, and for armour I had the Rakshasa set (grants more damage and in return you receive more damage from enemies. My stats were 45, 10, 25, 14, 25(i think), 9, 9 and 80 (priority) in the order of the stats going from top to bottom, also use a mimic tear summon if you are still struggling as this will guarantee the kill. If this helped give this comment a like and good luck!🤞
bleed is so fucking op its ridiculous
@@RomGomLPi cant disagree with you there
@@FXRainis that weapon better than the bandits curved sword?
@@carrotpanda8225 Bandits curved sword is better but i dont have it
@@FXRain thanks i love your builds btw
The build you use reminds me of my ds3 build and it brings back nostalgia 😔
You know it's a good fucking introduction when every streamer stares slack-jawed as this old man rips his own head off with a sword
The flower weapon is so funny
Gotta love how everyone is a mixed of impressed and happy at the end of the transition
Probably one of the best boss intros ive ever seen. I bet fromsoft actually had the whole scene of the head coming off but decided to black it out I guess
When bro ripped his head off to ascend to ultimate madness that was metal as fuck.
After learning the lore I feel so bad for our man Midra. He really wanted to contain the frenzy and protect the world from it
Man, when I learned of frenzy spells and got that ending, I went “I kinda wish there was a frenzy boss” and I’m so glad they delivered
配信者が使っている武器を見てみんなの個性が見れるの良いね
Still really wish we could have gotton the madness head, would have loved that as even a boss reward for increasing madness buildup and dmg sorceries
Love the difference in number of deaths between the first and second clips
I feel like this is the most terrifying boss, in both lore and visuals.
best most fun and cool boss in the whole game tbh
Have to say, my biggest "oh shit I wasn't ready" moment in the whole DLC was when the fire ignited and I realized he was a Lord of Frenzied Flame.
Why Charlie only have +10 flasks?
This cutscene was so good Ong definitely top 3 in elden ring hands down!
I love how dumbfounded everybody is when they see Midra's new "head".
Praise the sun, Cause im boutta cook you with it
-Midra, Lord of the largest and craziest oven
Despite the insane pain, hunger, and thirst (this indicates how exhausted he was), he continued to maintain his sanity to the last.
They need to buff this boss fr. he’s one of the hardest to find and looks really cool and has a fun move set but I think he could use some gap closers, faster mixups and like 50% more health.
I'm on ng+7, and fought this guy with maybe around lvl10 blessing and he was a CHALLENGE
Lol I was just strolling this area just to find some loot. I didnt even know there was fucking Frenzy Lord chillin in here.
Charlie’s gameplay was so satisfying
I find it funny and disturbing that you can find his spine in that mansion. Even more disturbing that it’s a weapon that was being held in his friend’s (girlfriend? Servant?) corpse’s embrace
I thought that was his child's spine?
The faces you pull are more frightening than any boss in the game 😂
"aww fuck here we go" pretty much sums up everyone's reaction to this cutscene 😂
May the Chaos take the world, MAY THE CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD,MAY THE CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD,MAY THE CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD, MAY THE CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD !
The Tarnished who is on the Frenzied Flame route: There could be only one.
Akephalos
Shine through me
Come forth in war
Come forth in peace
Bring down the sun
Extinguish all the stars
Let me remain in splendor of thy light
Am I the ONLY one who wishes they did not cut to black during the self-decapitation?
None of them said "hole shit! Its the lord of the frenzy flame, like in the ending!" Because i was yelling that
Midra and the boss from the top of dragon mountain are by far the best in all of Elden Ring
Lucidity helped me with this area amd boss finally found a use for that spell snd it was a big one😅
Fighting this boss with the dryleaf martial arts gloves was incredibly fun.
*THE DEPTHS OF YOUR FOOLISHNESH* 🗣🔥🗣🔥🗣🔥🗣🗣🔥🗣🔥🔥🔥🗣🔥
literally the king in yellow
While I wouldn't rank the actual fight itself among my top 5 (it is still really good, though), Midra definitely takes the cake in terms of pure crazy awesomeness. The design goes unbelievably hard, and the Bloodborne-esque theme music is phenomenal
"That looks so fire!" Yes! Yes it is fire. Literally.
When I fought this guy my character was already empowered by the frenzy flame, my thoughts, there can only be one.
bruh the first clip when he got grabbed by the tiny little fella only did like 1/4 of his hp. in NG+, if you dont use any blessings, that shit does like 800-1000 damage.
The eye of Sauron moment?!
I prefer Elden Ring's lore/story over, well, every other fantasy story including LOTR and Dark Souls tbh. the lack of an ultimate evil is what makes it so interesting to me.
@@imannam With all due respect what story?
Midra's damage: 😱🤯😱
Midra's animations: 🧚🔥🧚
I actually really loved this fight if only because his animations were so graceful and pretty.
"The depths of your foolishness"
Kai: stabs himself
Checks out
I was really hoping that someone would be super familiar with the lore and just have their mind absolutely blown that THERE IS A LORD OF FRENZIED FLAME IN AN OPTIONAL AREA
Bro saw running towards him little dude with a stick poking out of his head, bro stabs himself 😂😂😂😂
His weapon was kinda upseting ngl, its just a sword with common sword move set and the skills it's not even Frenzied Flame related, it's more like sacred, the incantantion it's pretty cool, Sauron type shit there.
Why would it have frenzy its what he was impaled with by the hornsent. It also has the claymore poke and its ash of war can grab npc type enemies, I just wish it had longer range.
@@pancakke08 they could've said it something like " In old times this was a holy weapon, but after the lord of frenzied flame touched it, the corruptions of the three fingers spread it out and now it's nothing more than a cursed spear by the flame of frenzy. " But I understand you, it's just my personal thought on it.
For an agent of chaos his move set was so smooth
Keen Backhand Blade +25 ( No Frost / Bleed )
Buckler Sheild
Level 120
Parrying this boss was easy and he's great , don't remember the scadutree blessing maybe 12 or 13
Based on these reactions it feels as if no one has seen or choose the Frenzy Flame ending except Distortion
My reaction to this cutsence: 🤨 🤢 😱(LORD OF THE F*CKING FRENZEID FLAME!?)
