I met Dan in Columbus, Georgia a few years ago. He was getting Bigfoot ready for a show & I was surprised to see him "assembling" it alone. He was a class act. I had pulled into where he was in my company truck & he answered each & every one of my 9000 questions & never seemed annoyed or even preoccupied. That's the way it should be. All too often, people in positions such as his can be short with observers or even downright rude. Dan was neither... it was very cool chatting it up with someone who clearly loves what he does, but cares about the fans too.
I'm 43 now and Big Foot has been part of my life for most of it. I have seen Jim Kramer and Bob Chandler in MSG in NYC and Nassau Coliseum on Long Island so many times when I was kid. My dad brought me to so many of these events. This video brought back so many great memories. Thank you.
I'm 36 and have loved monster trucks longer than I can remember - I work in the automotive industry with 4x4's and actually learned a couple of new things about monster trucks from this video!
Bigfoot forever the Primarcha and Icon of Monster trucks with Gravedigger as its commanding master of the sport in competitions and popularuty. IMO those 2 names are to be celebrated in a tier of their own. No longer as rivals but as untouchable legacies reigning over the current and future generations.
@150Spoke9 Just want to make a correction. I have been a "Big Fan" of Bigfoot. Congratulations on setting a (New Record: 219 Ft.) Thanks for sharing it with the rest of the RUclips Community.
The best Bigfoot is still Bigfoot 4 - the first purpose-built Monster Truck. I remember seeing the radio controlled Bigfoot 4 at Radio Shack. I must've been maybe 5 or 6 years old. I wanted it so badly, but my parents wouldn't buy it. It was like $99.99, which was pretty expensive in the mid 80s. Later that year at Christmas I was completely shocked when I opened a gift and there is was - the Bigfoot 4 RC. I kept that Bigfoot well into my 30s even though the remote was gone and it was well used up. For so long I could not let go of it because of how much my parents sacrificed for that.
monster jam is the best out there and entertainment value is awsome, only thing thats missing is a point system to see who wins in the end, other than that doenst get better
looks like he actually needed to floor the trottle just before he landed because he was landing nose first. if he didnt the front of the truck might have dug in on impact and went nose over end. anyone who has ever jumped a ramp on anything and landed nose first knows what im talking about. good driving by runte! . well done sir.
Esses, veiculos são só emoção do inicio ao fim da competição. A preparação, desde a montagem do veiculo, até a pista, deve ser uma realização muito grande.
cocacola150dr also USA-1 is being brought back for the first time in 20 years next year. everyone is excited. the OLDEST rivalry in monster trucks is about to be revived.
hellow car and driver,, i've subscribed to your channel and i 've enjoyed learning alot,, but it seems some videos do not open and it says (uploader did not make this video available in your country) well i live in United Arab Emirates where we really appreciate cars and all about it.. thanks for the great videos
Big foot, gravedigger, etc. All of them are owned by the same company. Feld entertainment, they also own Disney on Ice and Ringling bros. Ringling bros might be closed now...
Couple issues with the analysis........ 1. The tachometer that is displayed shows idle RPM as he flies through the air 2. One of the main reasons he kept a high RPM and forward wheelspin was to keep the nose from pitching forward. Brakes and wheelspin affect body roll while in the air.
rovku.........You & all the little twerps thanking you are nothing more than lab chickens pecking the right button to get your little piece of corn "RIGHT NOW". I mean.......Heaven forbid you should learn anything. You don't know anything because ya don't want to LEARN anything. Which is also why you aren't interested in anything, other than getting your cheese burger "right now". And that is also why you'll never do anything BUT flip burgers, or work dead-end jobs like Walmart making minimum wage...........or laying on your lazy asses on mommy's sofa the rest of your life. I swear, you little candy ass snowflakes would just curl up & die if you ever have a flat tire only 10 miles out of town, and mommy doesn't answer your distress call.
Very true I agree. But would be nice for Bigfoot to get more exposure then it does. Where I live Feld's Monster Jam is the only thing that comes through.
+Leofred Lateral position is controlled by a triangulated 4-link from the center, or cradle of the chassis. it is essentially 4 bars connected to the front axle, and four bars connected to the rear axle via adjustable Hiem Joints(spherical rod ends). I dont know for sure how the Bigfoot trucks are set up, but most monster truck chassis' have multiple spots on the cradle to bolt the hiem joints in to change the suspension characteristics. A few teams over the years have tryed different setups, like elliptical leaf spring setups and swing arm style suspensions, but on the whole, the 4-link setup is the standard.

The back shocks on bigfoot was so soft that cause the nose dive like grave digger...........did u get it??????

The big foot trucks r the baddest trucks that Bob Chandler knows how to build the winnings trucks ever

Bigfoot American icon.
Esses, veiculos são só emoção do inicio ao fim da competição.
A preparação, desde a montagem do veiculo, até a pista, deve ser uma realização muito grande.
Let’s Go!
Time stamp 6:24........Check out THOSE "monster tires" on the truck in that scene........LOL.
Wish team Bigfoot and monster jam could work out their differences
You do realize that if bob chandler never did the car crush in that field there wouldn't any be monster trucks thank you bob !!
I wouldn't say that. USA-1 came out at the same time, as did a few others. Bob just did the first show.
cocacola150dr also USA-1 is being brought back for the first time in 20 years next year. everyone is excited. the OLDEST rivalry in monster trucks is about to be revived.

He said that the sport itself is boring but the technology is great. You defend the sport by naming technical aspects...
I remember when they banned Bigfoot from competition,Bob had Andy Brass driving that #8. Wild suspension!
Thats right a real monster truck ! Unlike the monster jam circus . Go MONSTER X where the real monster truck and drivers are.
Big foot, gravedigger, etc. All of them are owned by the same company. Feld entertainment, they also own Disney on Ice and Ringling bros. Ringling bros might be closed now...
@@brianking9215 Bigfoot is not owned by Feld entertainment.
@@Revenraynehart I think you're correct about Feld ent. Owning the rights to big foot but he races for them now

"Bigfoot is doing it in the air!"
Amazing tech specs. Would love to work on a team
Skip to the jump 20:08

Dan The Man In Bigfoot 18!
I watched that truck when i was a child! B|

How is the lateral movements of the axle controlled? Cant see any panhard bar or watt-link on it.

What was the distance of the Leduc Leap at World Finals 15?
I wish BigFoot could be in Monster jam again.
