I really do appreciate you putting yourself in the crosshairs of angry Mormons by bringing this stuff to light for the average non-Mormon.
"If you want to skip this warning and leave an angry comment, go ahead, it's just going to boost me in the algorithm so more people can see this video :3"
I’m not really angry but I want to promote the algorithm so here goes…
🤬
“i no longer believe its true, therefore it has no power over me” is POWERFUL. that statement gave me chills! as an ex mo, this made me so happy.
The whole idea that if there is a loving God that he cares one teensy bit about someone doing THE RIGHT HANDSHAKE is absurd. It would never be just to be condemned for not knowing/remembering a handshake or not saying the right words or being dunked underwater literally at all, let alone "the right way."
And keep families apart in heaven because they didn’t participate in a super secret ritual in a building on earth?
Why would God, creator of the universe, want me to dress in 17th Century bakers' garb and do Freemason Rituals ?
The same "reason" He'd "want" people to constantly wear garments that cause yeast infections and all sorts of other problems.
Exactly!! My thoughts even when I was in the church! So ridiculous! 😆
As strange as it may sound, having your "calling and election made sure" and the fact that, as you stated, none of the rank and file members knew about it, was the first ball to drop that eventually had me walk out the door.
I wish we could put up a billboard right next to I-15 that tells members to ask their bishop about it.. It would be pretty funny for 10,000 members to get told that unless they pay millions they don't qualify for the ritual. Of course they wouldn't get the honest answer would they..
That crocheted dress is gorgeous. I'm thinking the flowers look embroidered, maybe? It's really unique and lovely.
Thank you! ♥️
Agreed! Lex your esthetic is always fire!
I was once at a nude figure drawing session where the model fainted after doing a kneeling pose for 10 minutes. Yes, fainting from kneeling too long is a thing.
Lmao, I loved the threats if I told anyone what crazy f-upped shit that goes on inside the walls of a temple 😂😂😂
Thank you for the very honest and actually, very respectful, look inside these temple ceremonies. I like following your channel because you are very respectful of people's experiences. Thanks again for the good work and info on your channel.
That's one of the things I like most about Lexie. She's honest and truthful, but not disrespectful (and it would be so easy to be).
Wow, they shortened the endowment ceremony?? Hadn't heard about this. Wish I could have all those hours back (along with my money), but hey lesson learned.
Same!
Good job. I went through the for my endowments in 1968. The had an actor playing satin, a preacher and the penitalize. I haven't been since leaving the church last year. It isn't as intertaining, they have a slide show now. I never talked about the temple endowment because my freinds would think it was crazy. Thanks for all you do.
The first time I went through the temple, it screamed man made. There is no way a god would create something so ridiculous. In the 21st century, still teaching that Adam and Eve are out first parents is despicable and insulting.
Amazing video! Btw you can be 11 and go to the temple if you turn 12 the same year. This change was made so kids of the same Sunday school class would also attend youth class at the same time. (ExMormon btw)
Your light has never been brighter 🕯️
Oh man lol thought you were going to attempt to summon the morning star by using the temple!! Lol.
I find myself in a very odd situation as my wife is Mormon , her entire gamily is and they are devoted to say the least. We were married late in life and me being an outsider not from within the church, a no Mormon it created a great deal of drama to say the least. Long story short we did get married, we are extremely happy but I have zero and I do mean zero to do with her family. I have not seen or spoken with them since the day our of wedding and it's been years. It is a odd challenge we work around as I still want to her have a connection with them and I would never discourage her from seeing them or make her choose between us. I tried the church for about 18 months when dating and first married (we were not married in the temple, it is not something I would even consider), but when the time came to prepare for my temple recommend things got weird and I couldn't take any more of their way of beliefs. They do not like being questioned and that to me is a red flag. Any church that puts itself above all others major red flag. All religions have their faults this is fact but just as strange and prying the scientologists are Mormons can be nosey, deceitful, hypocrites and vindictive as any. Having Moved to Salt Lake City not by choice mind you, I can say I've grown to hate the Mormon culture and attitude they have. They are the worst here because this is their community and they get away with it. I like your channel for the most part, I try to keep an open mind and not make snap judgements. Like all of us we tend to let emotions cloud our head too fast and dictate our responses. My wife is a wonderful woman and I wouldn't change her, I don't believe what she does but we understand in the bigger picture neither of us has the real answers and we never will until the lights go out.
I will never understand the people who think those gaudy temples are beautiful.
Same people who visit trump hotels..
@@sjenson6694 I will never understand why comments turn up on channels that have nothing to do with politics...very odd
@@savannahsmiles1797 Because someone with a hand in the YT algorithm likes to push videos like this and far-right Trumpian videos onto everyone, thus bringing into the comments folks that would normally never look up such videos?
Thank you for sharing this. The 2nd Anointing sadly doesn't surprise me.
Throughout history, people have sadly done atrocious things when they thought they were guaranteed a spot in heaven.
I appreciate you sharing this, and I deeply appreciate your content. 💕
Hah, my dad would talk about the calling and election made sure, wonder if he was alluding to that second anointing. I had certainly never head of it.
Nice to know most of the stuff in the temple is… about what i had expected with some extra weird flare.
I hope their is an Ex mo out there who appreciates the irony and architecture of putting an extravagant, temple-esque hot tub, or pool in their backyard.
Pool party🎉.
❤
Gasp! You just gave me a great Halloween theme for my house this year! Since most temple work is for the dead… I’m scheming a blood filled font with corpses right now.
Joseph invented the 'Baptism for the dead' thing because his brother Alvin died without being baptised. It's understandable in context, and kind of heart-breaking, but also shows how Joseph would just make stuff up to make himself feel better about his situation. Martin Harris worrying about mortgaging his farm? Tell him God's going to send him to hell if he doesn't cough up the cash.. Having some affairs with women? Make Polygamy gods new command. etc
I feel like what you're doing is very therapeutic because I would imagine that once you step outside of the Mormon believe system you might be very angry that you were raised with such cult like traditions and bizarre rituals the very few Mormons I know who have walked away from the church leave disillusioned , a bit angry and disappointed
Anyone who’s read even a little of the Old Testament instantly knows that this Mormon “holy of holies” is a breathtakingly blatant appropriation from Jewish temple worship. The chutzpah not to mention the disrespectfulness is off the scale. It’s astonishing in fact. All the Biblical cachet and branding, none of the theology. What a nerve!
What is the nature of what’s contained in this Mormon “holy of holies?” What in its nature makes it that holy? Why does this all have to be kept secret?
These aren’t impertinent questions and they are also very wise questions.
I take it there are disallowed questions in Mormonism?
I hope you can address them in a video.
Keep in mind the Mormon church is supposed to be the restoration of the true gospel, so they would not be appropriating Jewish beliefs, but rather restoring them to their fullest expression. That always seemed odd to me since Jewish temple practices and LDS temple practices are vastly different.
The Holy of Holies is where Christ personally presents Himself to speak with the prophets. Christ makes it holy.
It’s secret, I suppose, because you don’t share your holy and sacred experiences with unsafe people.
As someone who left just a couple of years ago, they do, in fact, allow 11y/o to go into the temple. It is no longer your actual age that matters, but what age you turn in the year. So if you are 11, but you will turn twelve later in the year, you can get a temple recommend. And boys become deacons based on the same age standards. So Lex got that correct.👍
The wedding ceremony shocked me.. my son was married in the temple and was such a ceremony I wondered if it was legitimate.
The temple sealers are legally allowed to do legal weddings. Bishops also can marry people legally.
Such a rebellious young lady! I applaud your zeal and appreciate your sharing your experience. Enjoy your life now that you've emancipated yourself from the cult.
Important, and well done.
OMG, Yes you are just a Bad BEAUTIFUL LADY. If anyone is offended by this video they need serious mental help. Thank you for being so open about all these things. YOU ROCK BTW to those who want to tell me to Go To Hell sorry. The Devil has a restraining order against me
I’m a practicing temple going member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; and I don’t think you are going to hell. I also don’t think hell is eternal.
She is very beautiful lady.
@@kaylahall1219 My question to you is this...Have you read the BIBLE? Not the book of Mormon but the Bible? There is only 1 way to heaven and hell is a eternal place you go if you do not accept Jesus as your Salvation. Have a great week
*(Romans 12:20 & Matthew 25:35-37), turn these into homeless shelters if a true church of Christ!!!*
Unless in Florida, where you might get thrown in jail simply for giving food to the homeless.
Would you say you, are a true follower of Christ?
Membership without personal experience with the intended fruits of the gospel is like trying to enjoy a silent dance party without headphones.
What a fascinating analogy. 🤔
Temple garb is too funny!!!
It’s not that different to what nuns wear, really. What else is funny to you about it? I love you just the way you are, and Jesus loves you too!
I love your style! So fun!
Those costumes! The headgear reminds me of Weird Science (the movie). Did they forget the doll?
To borrow a line from ST:V, What does *god* need with a secret handshake?
He doesn’t. We do.
Very interesting. Thank you for posting this
I LOVE YOUR TOP!!! I’m learning crochet because my kids love amigurumi, so that’s what I’m learning but everytime I see someone wearing something beautiful it makes me want to learn faster and branch out.
Anyway, thank you for posting this. I wasn’t ever Mormon but have had a few missionaries at my door. I never wanted to join but I wondered if it was a cult and boy have I learned a lot, mostly from Alyssa Grenfell and you. I hadn’t heard of the second anointing ceremony. I am absolutely going to look that up. I don’t know why it’s so interesting but the more crazy the “religious practices” the more I’m like: how on earth do people believe this?!? It’s just to funny.
I believe this. 🙋🏻♀️
Struck by lightning - It's always so chilling to look at different religions and experience a visceral reaction to their beliefs. When it's not my own, I most likely laugh in disbelief and at the same time feel sad for the person that believes to be killed viciously over something that sounds ridiculous to me.
“Struck by lightning “ ⚡️ is just a funny colloquialism, not an actual teaching. 🤣 I suppose it’s a shorthand saying for “incur the wrath of God upon my head”. 🤔
Why can you baptize the dead by proxy but not the living?
Good point 😆
Because the living can go do it for themselves, unless living in an area where they'd never get the chance?
@davepowder4020 what if they don't want to get baptized? Can you still do it for them? What if a dead person does not want it?
@@Bullybob77 According to the doctrine, the dead can refuse it. The baptism is of no effect. The physical act was the offer. The offer can be declined. And, given that there's a choice after someone is dead, leads to the idea that one's personal agency isn't gone after one is dead (physically), either. There's still a life of choices, learning, growing etc, on the spiritual side of things, according to LDS teachings.
@@davepowder4020 interesting they reject the Bible which says it is appointed for men to die once and then the judgement
Can you show the hand shakes?
I'm pretty sure she does in other videos. If not, finding another video that does is quick. Just search for "mormon signs and tokens" or "secret mormon handshakes"
Love it! Even when I was a Christian I never liked the idea of any rites or ceremonies, and the reality of secret rites and ceremonies among some religions and groups always felt wrong to me. I love seeing religious and certain groups secrets exposed for the world to see.
I still can NOT believe that when you get to the Pearly Gates, you’ve lived a perfect Mormon life and then you can’t get in because you forgot the special handshake!!! That is right out of the Masons for sure! I learned today that the first half of the 1800’s the US was full of new Religions, charismatic leaders, and new doctrines popped up everywhere as offshoots of Protestantism and continuing from Luther’s Protestant Reformation. I also saw a different video that the same ‘Age of Prophets’ happened right around the time of Christ’s’ life. Again more and more charismatic people were talking and drawing crowds based on reinterpretations of the Bible which then was only the Old Testament or the Hebrew bible. So this seems to be a religious phenomenon that happens periodically and Judaism probably started during one of these phases a few millennium before Jesus’ time.
You have a fascinating perspective! If you don’t do temple worship, you still go to Heaven. And you don’t need to worry about remembering the handshakes; because Jesus will be with you.
I have looked into the Masonic rituals, and there are some similar elements. But they are not the same and masons also agree they are not the same.
@@kaylahall1219 No Smith couldn’t just steal the same ones but that’s most definitely where he got the idea.
This is absolutely fascinating! I'm an exJW and I can see parallels in the secrecy and information being revealed the higher up you rise in the religion. Very insightful explanation of the "baptism of the dead". Interesting there's an obscure scripture in Paul's writings where he talks about the "baptism of the / for the dead". I reckon the Mormons base the ritual on that scripture? The JWs of course have a different and convoluted explanation of that scripture.
I would love to know what Paul said. The “church answer” is that Joseph was grieved that his brother wasn’t baptized before he died. And didn’t have the chance to hear the fully restored gospel of Jesus Christ. And Joseph when praying about this received revelation that you can baptize by proxy. What do the JW’s say about Paul’s scripture?
I wish you positive good vibes and every good thing in life.
@@kaylahall1219 Thank you for replying. The JWs have basically doctored their translation so that they could superimpose their doctrine onto what Paul was saying. This one of the latest things they've said on that scripture:
*** nwtsty 1 Corinthians Study Notes-Chapter 15 ***
being baptized for the purpose of being dead ones: In chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians, Paul discusses the certainty of the resurrection. In this context, he states that spirit-anointed Christians are baptized, or immersed, into a course of life that will lead to a death of integrity like that of Christ. Afterward, they will be raised to spirit life, as Jesus was. This baptism includes trials similar to those faced by Jesus himself and often leads to a death like his. (1Co 15:30-34) Faithful anointed Christians have the hope of being resurrected to life in heaven. So this baptism seems related to the baptism mentioned by Jesus at Mr 10:38 and by Paul at Ro 6:3.-See study notes on Mr 10:38; Ro 6:3.

Lex, you're intelligent, funny, beautiful and just generally awesome! There, hopefully that undoes some of the hate from the Mormon crowd. 😂 Keep up the great work!
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; I agree with you 100 %. She is intelligent, funny, beautiful, and awesome! I hope it undoes hate and trauma, too! Anyone who calls names or is mean misses the mark to be like Christ. I love Jesus. I hope y’all are having a great day.
@@kaylahall1219 you represent the church well. Thank you!
I often wondered, “so if Joe average goes online, and finds The names signs and tokens, Taught in the LDS temple ceremony, then couldn’t just anybody pass by the angels, who Act as sentinels in the afterlife, thereby, allowing anybody to make it to heaven?
Next, I suspect that there are additional ceremonies available to the extremely elite like a general authorities, it would be interesting to know if that is true.
In the LDS view (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) the ceremony is not to enter into Heaven. In fact, the view is far more inclusive of people “making it into heaven” than the average Protestant teaching. The signs and symbols are to pass by the sentinels to the Father’s presence (symbolically) and you are personally escorted by Jesus Christ into His presence. I would surmise that if Christ doesn’t know you, He wouldn’t take you? But also not everyone wants that experience necessarily? A lot of fascinating questions here.
I have heard of the “calling and election made sure “ ; and my understanding is that Christ comes Himself personally, to do so. 🤷🏻♀️
I thought to get to the highest level of heaven you had to have a family, so baptizing a dead person who wasn’t married or sealed wouldn’t get into the the highest level…
Doing the work would connect a person to a family.
Never knew about second anointings thats evil
I remember someone saying they'd heard that the temple had nude co-ed basketball. They then said that would have been better than what actually happened.

Mean comments suck! Lexi, you are a wonderful person and I love you just the way you are. We don’t say that to each other often enough these days.
I passed out during a sealing ceremony while kneeling at the alter 😅
Me too! The sealer even warned me it could happen. 😂 found out in 2020 I have Multiple Sclerosis. Brain lesions, brain damage, and heat sensitivity certainly do not help. There are many clothing layers and kneeling for a long time in one attitude could certainly cause a fainting spell. I wonder if Catholics have similar challenges?
Locking your knees while dinging in a choir can also cause fainting. 🤔
I seen the saramony on New name Noah a y tuber who has secrets camera all over the temple.
What do the oxen symbolize?
12 tribes of Israel.
@@davepowder4020 thank you
Dang I heard of a 2nd anointing for the leaders at the top, but never knew they had their own separate room in the temples for it. I thought they just did it where all the other white curtain annotating rooms are at.
Is there just no explanation for the oxen?
The ox under the pool makes this look demonic
I’m no longer a believer. But the oxen under the pool was actually in Solomon’s temple in the Bible.
@@jamestrek2570 I'm not a Christian, but I want to point out that J's of the Old Testament practiced blood sacrifice in the temples.
They represent the 12 tribes of Israel and being yoked to Christ through covenant. We do not worship satan.
@kaylahall1219 I didn't say you do, but the appearance is unsettling. Your Temples also have free Mason symbols, and some of your temple endowments have Satan being played out, which further adds to the eeriness of the appearance. You should know Ox were common sacrifices in the old Jewish temples.

Did you have a second anointing?
Are there awards to Mormons who do a lot of proxy baptisms? i.e. do they get "points" for every 100 proxies they do? Who knows - maybe they get to cash them in for a Disney World vacation...
We called it getting brownie points in heaven 😅😅
🤣you never receive any actual compensation only the "blessings " from the privilege of paying tithing everymonth and doing things that benefit the church
The blessing is richer associations through building relationships with those that have died, hopefully we would be friends in the next life if they wanted.

Temple prep involves the spirit of prophecy and revelation, you should already have a testimony of the doctrine of Christ before entering into the house of the Lord.

These are rites, rituals and ceremonies exactly how Jesus and his apostles performed. We know this because Joseph Smith restored to true church that was lost to the apostacy.
Circular reasoning and confirmation bias. The book is true because the book says its true combined with you wanting it to be true results in your holy place getting a tingle.
No objective evidence, whether direct or inferred, exists to support your claim.
There is historical evidence that the Jews of ancient Israel were temple worshippers. 🤔 the rest takes faith. 🤷🏻♀️

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24:23-24
"Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God.
So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in?
A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan.
OR
B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God.
