Great stuff! The videos are coming fast, I somehow missed this the other day! Thanks for comparing the controls on both versions-that was one of my last remaining questions for the alpha. Cheers!
Cheers, yeah its been a very busy few weeks and months. It's been hard to keep up with everything. Though its great to do this videos on something we all love to do.. play games!
Great video as always and glad you got your Deluxe Edition Alpha. I've modified numerous arcade sticks with Sanwa arcade components and they are better quality and can give you a slight competitive advantage but in all honesty, for casual play like on the Evercade there's really little need to go the Sanwa route but each to their own. Personally I prefer the standard Mega Man Alpha but the Alpha Gamepad does have a cool design :-) Keep up the awesome work!
All the Evercade cartridges and machines backs up ur hi score, either internal or the cartridges (which is just an SD card, which can get corrupted) so I recommend u power down ur system before you remove the cartridges, I wouldn't put my legacy cartridges in any of my systems, until I back em up on the EverSD 🤐
@XmasTablet They've never worked this way before, you've always had to back you're hiscore up manually, now the Alpha just does it for you (well the deluxe ones do anyway)
@@CrazyBurger To me it is bit of an oversight on Evercade's part.. Why not be screaming about it on the box? It's a fantastic feature, especially on a game like Streetfighter... It makes the machine ten times better! It does to me.
Your videos are always the best! Things like I hadn’t realized my marquee cover had a protector as it was PROPERLY stuck on and not obvious. Saw you do it and now I can actually see my marquees when they are lit up 😂💪🏼
It has my all-time favorite Street Fighter games on it: Champion Edition and the First Street Fighter Alpha. Also 1:30 The Evercade gamepad is one of THE BEST SNES style "diamond" lay-out gamepads i've ever messed with. 9:00 The way to take the plastic off with the LEAST hassle, is to take a screwdriver, and lightly undo the (4) screws going through it on the screen bezal (you don't have to undo the screws completly, just loosen them so the plastic can come free). That way the plastic is 'free' to slide off from around them, and doesn't end up all torn, fragmented, and messy. 19:08 (Crowd goes nuts for the 1st Street Fighter Alpha, cue applause track).
Why no Hyper Fighting? I have HF on my 1up Big Blue. This is like a countercade Big Blue. But, it has the Alpha games, and no 1up cab has them so I will have to figure out a way to softmod and add them to one of my SFII cabs.
Very nice. Altrough those parts were often described as Sanwa "clones" in the past, there is indeed a huge difference in feeling and quality to real Sanwa components. I also changed them out to Sanwa JLF and buttons on my Neo Geo ASP, it feels great now.
Got my Street Fighter Deluxe yesterday. Overall it's really nice. Solid build, decent sound, the screen is exceptionally good. I had to remove the bezel screws and the control panel to get all of the plastic off. The joystick had a square gate but being sanwa, can easily be changed for an octagonal one. The buttons are very sensitive, I have unintentionally pressed them several times. The USB-C port is recessed and one cable I tried wouldn't fit. It doesnt seem to be fussy on the power supply, I powered fine off of two different power strips and even a monitor. Only real complaints are with the marquee. The pack of extra ones i received are not flat, they have a wave to them. The clear plastic that covers the marquee also bows outwards and looks ugly. I'm not sure if this is because it is too big or because it only clips in at the sides and not the top/bottom.
Got mine yesterday, I agree the protective plastic is a pain in the backside to remove 😂 Had to loosen the screws on the screen and remove the control panel to fully remove.
Before you peel the plastic off the screen, it is best to first loosen the 4 screws. After that it was only annoying to remove the plastic under the screen. But in the end I managed to remove the plastic completely. The biggest difficulty I have is getting my 9-year-old daughter off the device so I can play for a while.
That Data East 2 cart has some sick games on it CB. Crude Buster and Midnight Resistance are faves of mine. Also, seems like Evercade should've included a new 6 face button pad for fighting games. Get to practicing those quarter circle and Dragon Punch motions yo! Thanks for the long review 👍👍
@rossvegas7 - Good question. I don't own one. Probably uses 2 of the 6 buttons to rotate the gun's shooting angle, like Forgotten Worlds on PC Engine and Megadrive did with their 3 button pads 👍
I'm also not an expert in Streetfighter games. I am someone who was crazy about games in his youth and now plays a Streetfighter game 2 to 3 times a year for no longer than half an hour. But Streetfighter II is now over 30 years old. I can master the special moves of most characters just like I can ride a bike. You just never forget that. I and I think most people who buy this device really don't need a list to do a Hadouken or Sonic Boom. A physical manual would have been nice, just like with the EXP. But that would have had more of an aesthetic function than any real use.
Ball Top Vs Bat... I just put a nice red ball top on (same colour as the red buttons) and straight away the stick was more comparable to a Dreamcast Arcade Stick for Street Fighter. That Bat over exaggerates everything making it harder to be precise. The Bat looks cool, but no way am I going back to it. I just grabbed a black & red ball top bundle on Amazon for about £12, nothing special and happy with the result. 👍
I got my deluxe yesterday. Overall it’s great. However, for the increased price it should include both sets of games so you can play them all without having to buy 2 alphas. I have a vs, another controller isn’t that big of a deal. Also it sucks some games are stuck on super pocket or original exp. Tiato collection would be perfect on this thing. It did bring new life to my Namco carts and many others. Look forward to your predictions for next year.
Great video , I have the megaman deluxe , I had problems with tomb raider , soul reaver carts using the alpha game pad , also the 2 red atari lynx carts seem to crash the alpha , thanks crazy burger

To be honest I was expecting much better from the Sanwa buttons, I tried Galaxions and resting your finger on a button with repeat pushdown pressing it will not always register your presses! You have to keep lifting off each press to be precise. As for the Sanwa stick, (it has a 4way gate) and like Crazy found out with the Standard Megaman, it's an issue trying to play Pac-man, not all turns will register. I don't have any Sanwa parts to compare with, my Mayflash F300 arcade stick buttons act in a similar way to these Alpha Deluxe buttons and they are not Sanwa. I'm sure these Alpha Deluxe controls will be fine for most things though, I purposely went out of my way to test for potential problems lol. It's all too early to make a true judgement??
@@CrazyBurgerI had to give Pac-man a go after you tried the standard stick, there was always hope lol. As for a shooter, Galaxions was on the same cart and I was lazy, try a better shooter. 😉👍

I’m still in doubt wether to get the Mega Man one. I’m a big Mega Man fan and I have quite a few evercade carts allready. I don’t know if I’ll be playing on it much. My arcade1ups aren’t getting much use either.
If you like Pac Man then be warned that there is not a good version of that game on Evercade. The only one available is the NES port, which does not play well with the joystick. The other games and the whole ecosystem, though? Very intriquing.
