It’s clear that Apple will make Apple Intelligence a big feature in the rollout of the next version of its products. Across its product line, Apple hasn’t done much in the last 18 months, except for the MacBooks and M-series iPads. The evidence indicates that Apple has been holding back the next version of the product until Apple Intelligence was announced/released.

@@goobfilmcast4239one thing that’s incorrect. Right now, only iPhones 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will get that. The earlier models and lower models don’t have 8GB of RAM which seems to be the cutoff.

@@goobfilmcast4239 That would be nice, but I suspect some products though technically compatible, would limit or offload more features, to the iPhone or cloud etc, rather than processing the request internally. I also suspect Apple will be adding more base memory to the next generation of home products, when they’re finally released. There’s been reports that some products are struggling with AI with 8gb, the home products only have 1gb.

Smart phones are the key to winning this race, they’re the things at the centre of how people live their digital lives.

Let’s not forget the fact that Amazon locked someone out of his house because the Amazon driver reported that the automatic door response was racist even though it wasn’t. They took action and locked the guy out of his own house.
Any company that uses my data to control my life, error or not, will not get any money from me. I don’t need my home to lock me out just because it misunderstood me or someone from their company reviewed my logs and didn’t like my hobbies or political stance. I’ve found that Siri is very good for a number of basic things. Get past that, and the quality falls off, sometimes drastically. A lot of it has been their quest for privacy which has made it difficult to enhance. Also, apparently the code, when they bought the company, was monolithic. I don’t know if you guys program, but I used to and monolithic code is very difficult to modify in a major way. Supposedly they finally have rewritten it for AI. I have my fingers crossed.

The only thing stopping me getting rid of the 5 Echo devices around my home and replacing them with HomePod Mini's is the cost. I am slowly trying to put as much as I can in the Apple Ecosystem. Will not give up Word and Excel for Pages & Numbers though.

Good review - as always. My only issue with Apple AI is that I just purchased a iPhone 15 Plus...so not going to go out and get a new phone. My MacBook is too old - so I will need to purchase a new MacBook Air as you suggested (however, I not about to purchase a cheaper MacBook Air just to get AI)...Also, my iPad is an older model so I'll need to update too. I guess it sucks to be me.... In order for me to get Apple Intelligence I will need to purchase a new iPhone - MacBook Air & iPad. Which may happen over time but certainly not within the next 6 months. Also, I currently use the free version of Chat GPT, Gemini, and Poe...so I still get the information I need for free. I do agree that Amazon is WAY BEHIND in getting AI and that the Echo products are doomed to fail if something isn't done - and done quickly. Respect your thoughts and comments about Amazon Echo products - my only hope is that Amazon will smarten up and listen to you and other professionals as to what technology change they need to make to their products...or they too will go the way of companies like Blackberries and Motorola flip phones...LOL!

I love what apple is doing here, pushing the boundaries of what convenient AI can be. But that also gives me hope of what Alexa can do, once Amazon realize their Alexa AI makeover. My smart home is built around Alexa and her features, today they all work flawlessly great and is used countless of times during the day, can’t even imagine how much ill use her when the announced ai makeover comes. And seeing apple pushing the boundaries I believe Amazon will adapt and integrate their new ai model more with ecsisting platforms and ecosystems, like Microsoft products, phone messages, etc. And seeing how the apple ecosystem have been opened up in the EU gives me hope that we can get to chose our smart voice assistant just like we choose web browsers. This is just a few simple first thoughts I have.

There was a clear and well developed 40mins long demo.. and the ChatGPT is only the backup of the backup.. they try to solve all AI on device (it's faster like the sending data to server and receiveing the result, and also safer, because only the sent data/request can be tracked..), even the image generation is happening on device.. and after that if still not solved the problem, they sendig it their own server with Apple own large AI model (there is the possibility to fully investigate their claims about security, anybody can request and check how their AI works..), and if the question is still unsolved, it's asking request to send the data to ChatGPT...
By the way just check the Nothing official channel, even the Android manufacturers said that it should be the minimum standard from now, what they introduced...

They’ve already been taught with our stuff 🤷‍♂️. Real life scenarios would simply make them better at dealing with our interactions with them. I agree with you on your assessment of Apple vs Amazon. I have both ecosystems and now I will be converting all the smart speakers to HomePods with a combination of iPads where I want a screen. The only Amazon hardware I will still be keeping is my Ring system and the kindles as I do like those devices and the Ring app is available on IOS. I do respect Apple for their privacy culture. I am hoping that in the next few years Apple will release affordable and eyeglass style spatial computing devices as well as an Apple ring. Apple is more expensive but their overall quality and design is very good, not perfect by any means but better than most other competitors. I do really like your videos and have subscribed. Thanks for posting.

Apples, AI is going to change the game in the smart home space. The one thing that’s really destroying Alexa is that all their devices are more focused on sales and ads then the smart home and honestly that is going to be their biggest downfall after Apple releases their AI when iOS 18 comes out.

My issue with Apple has always been that to use an Apple device, you have to use all Apple devices, that's why I went with Android and Alexa

Let’s be honest Alexa AI is useless, I’ve stopped asking it questions because I end up swearing at it as she comes back with utter nonsense. I use it for routines & to put lights on/off
