Worth mentioning that according to Apple, when Siri asks to reach out to ChatGTP, it is doing so privately, without sharing information beyond the request and ChatGTP does not retain a history of the request and is not using the information to train models. Feels like an important detail to skip over.

Just like chatGPT bosses respected Scarlett's request that they not use her voice? Just like chatGPT bosses respected the alignment&safety team who tried to fire a certain guy at the top who was violating AI safety to the point that they ended up having to resign one by one, but that guy at the top still remains, and still misbehaves? Apple Intelligence is designed to be able to orchestrate (orchestrate being a keyword) hundreds of actions for you, so you can accomplish more while saving time. Two Examples:
    1. A friend texts you his new address. Right from the Messages thread, you can say, “Add this address to his contact card,” and Siri will take care of it.
You do not need to open Contacts app, search your friend name, click edit, copy paste the new address from Message app. All done automatically in the background in second.
    2. “Show me my photos of Stacey in New York wearing her pink coat,” and Siri will bring those right up. Then you might say, “Make this photo pop,” and Siri will enhance it, just like that.
You do not need to open Photo app to do search yourself from thousands of Stacey photos, you do not need to edit it in the apps to make the color stands out. They are processed in the background using multiple apps and give you a result in second.

This is exactly right. But so many people just don’t want to take the time to understand this. They just gloss over these details and make generalized comments about how the new photo features or Apple Intelligence “suck” without any context.
And this repeats itself for anything new from Apple. It’s a “react first/think later” approach that seems to be a trend. I think Apple’s version of AI is going to be a great asset.

This has always been the case. In the past the iPhone line-up has largely had continuity over the entire line-up but pro models have always had stronger hardware and features that weren’t available to the base and plus models.
The only other option for them would be to nerf the feature for everyone, wait and do the exact same thing except a year later after they release the iPhone 16, or someone add better hardware to existing phones.
When I was a kid I didn’t realize that hardware really existed. I thought that since my iPod touch could play a RUclips video of GTA IV that my iPod should be able to play the game as well, or I thought that Rockstar was going to have GTA IV on the PS2… stupid stuff like that. And that’s how people are acting. “Why can’t we have AI on device for the base iPhone 15!?” Well, because it literally can’t. It doesn’t have the available hardware.
If you want all the features, buy the higher end or new device. If you don’t then don’t…

Ironically NOT sn 🍎 to 🍏 comparison. I can recognize every "new" Apple miracle feature as an already developed native function on my other OS choices that I use. Often with more features and yet less irl fanfare promotion. That can kill a good function e.g. Google's Photomoji turns memes into emojis but Idk if I'm the only one with it? Others like Google and Samsung typically lean more on Cloud based solutions, which is why atleast for Samsung, you will eventually have to pay for their AI. Apple taking this approach obviously was the reason why they drastically upgraded the neural engine on the A17 Pro, and previous generation chips may not be fast enough to handle the load. The advancements in Apple's AI demonstrate a significant step forward in user experience and device integration, but the exclusivity to high-end devices may alienate a portion of their user base.

I don’t want AI to draw or make stories. I need it to remind me stuff, to answer calls from “X” contact, to write appointments in my calendar, to tell me that I have X amounts of minutes left to arrive to work or to take another route, to tell me about lunch specials available in my area, etc. There are so many things and I’m just seeing stuff about fake images, fake videos, fake voices. I don’t see anything (AI) designed to help old people in making the technology use easier.

Apples stock went up because of the genius idea to only make it available on pro chips (relative to the hardware). Now the pro model is going to be the definitive iPhone

No smartphone in the WORLD other than iPhone 15 Pro is even CAPABLE of Apple Intelligence. iPhone 15 Pro has the fastest chip in the world and therefore it is the first smartphone that can debut this technology. I think people are not understanding this.

All the iphones will have this eventually, the SE typically trails the flagships every 3 models (so the iPhone 20, will likely have an Ai capable SE model, if not sooner) . Apple won't gatekeep this technology, as they've always been about continuity among their products.

Moving everyone to Apple Silicon was inevitable and necessary to keep technology moving forward. This is called progress. As for the iPhone, I would guess all or almost all future released iPhones will run the new AI features; it’s about the internal memory needed for the software to function.

There is something important I’d like Anglophones to remember about users who feel left behind. It was predictable that Apple Intelligence would only be supported in English, but moreover LLMs present a disadvantage for users of minority languages. My mother tongue has 100 Mn+ speakers, yet the performance of LLMs is still noticeably inferior compared to when prompting in English. I wonder how well Apple Intelligence performs well in other languages.
