you prolly dont care but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
Calendar blocking has been enormously helpful for me, especially setting it up in Google calendar. Seeing my tasks laid out in this way does something to my brain. It makes the tasks seem more doable when I see the time parameters. I have managed to sail through a grad school term, writing deadlines, and running a household while moving to the mainland from Hawaii using this method. And I learned it from your videos! Thank you a million times! I can't wait to follow your NaNoWriMo blog this year! Good luck!
Pro tip, get a job where you work six months out of the year and then spend the rest of the time as a committed author! I am loving it. Great side hustle with good pay, and I’m now not a “starving” artist. Once the books are finished and published, we all pray they bring in enough income to write full time. That said, I tried working a 7-5 job and write in my free time; not as easy as it sounds to stay motivated during those short few hours of availability. This is the move, committing
I’m so excited. This is my first nanowrimo. Got my 20 page outline typed up and ready to go thanks to your prep videos and advice. You inspired me to do nano this year. 😍
As a new writer visiting the write-o-sphere... just have one comment: "What's up my friend" You're talking to ME - not the X thousand viewers (my friends) - Much appreciated.
I will be doing this from now on. My time has been very unscheduled due to our recent addition to our family and being burned out. This made my day, thank you!!!!
Love your videos! I binge-watched almost all of them this month. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge! I'm so excited for Friday!!! This is my first NaNoWriMo and I'm definitely not a pantster, but I'm not finished my outlining yet. AAAHHH!
Love it! Never really thought about the routine needing an overhaul. We're so quick to kick ourselves when we stray from our resolutions but a lot of times we just need to change things up for a new season. Thanks for the reminder. You're a star!
I am so excited!! Especially since you said you'll be vlogging! I love it when you vlog. This video inspired me so much!! I am going to keep a NaNo journal, too! 😁😁
Duuuuude, your Bullet Journals would look SO AMAZING, so if you DO start one next year, please show us! Aaaah, yay! So excited you're doing a vlog again! Also, that notebook didn't look THAT minimalistic, haha. Also, I couldn't tell what the yellow ribbon header things were for. Days? Weeks? I think it's a great idea to have a setup like that. I've never seen or thought of something like that before, and I would like to know more!
I am so thankful to learn the "downtime" Macbook trick. It's working like a charm for me and I'm much more focused when writing at home. Thank you so much!
I stopped halfway through the video to check out your playlists. They are amazing! I'm reading for my first nanowrimo, thank you for all your videos and tips. I've followed your outlining methods and feel pretty prepared :) Good luck with your own nano!
I'm pretty excited but also feeling not much prepared for it, because i didn't used my time good enough. But i have still a few days/ hours left and i hope i will get some preparation done. Your videos are really inspiring and helps me a lot to believe in myself and my story. can' wait to see your vlogs during Nanowrimo.
This video is awesome, good work. One of the things I like is organizing but sometimes I can get disorganized, can you please show us how to organize a schedule or routine?
My daily schedule is wake up, school, homework time through my school soccer team, soccer game, soccer practice. This is nearly everyday til around 8PM and I’m still trying to write a tv show. I do it during my homework time because I usually finish it in class (and if I don’t, the time is sometimes 2 hours long, I never have that much work) but I still don’t write as much as I would like.
Love the Downtime hack!! After Nano, I'm really hoping you'll do a deep-dive series into everything you did to self-pub and how you continue to drive traffic to your novel! Planning to self-pub my debut novel in Fall 2020 and there's just sooo much information to learn! Thanks for these videos :)
Hi Abbie! As I told you some videos ago, as soon as I have had clear the story that I want to write during this NaNoWriMo and some free time, I have seen this video series one by one and I have made a summary of they in my new notebook for this NaNo. In addition, I have all your character templates, etc., on my computer ready to be filled. Seriously, thank you very much for all your help and, above all, for your enthusiasm and the excitement and strength you convey in each video. They are very contagious and encourage me a lot. On the other hand, I'm looking forward to seeing the videos you have planned for this NaNo! By the way, I would love to add you as a buddie, can you tell me your user to add you? (Only if you want, of course). Anyway, this begins now and we must be well rested and work a lot to give the best of us in our new stories. I wish you the best with yours! A huge hug from Spain.
2,329 views as of right now. So that's theoretically 2,329 novels that will potentially be finished at the end of this month...Let's go teeeaaam!!! (Also, thanks Abbie. I'd be hosed without these :))
Hey Abbie, I have a question for you. Maybe you might have mentioned this before and I might not have noticed it. Do you like writing your story using pen and paper or going digital? I saw you mentioning your notebook usage for editing. But which do you like? Not about which has become easier for you or easy for publishing or anything else. Even today if you want to write a story, just a single short story which would you like and Why?
PLEASE show us your yoga routine. I've been trying to get into yoga for half an eternity but I never stayed consistent. As you helped me finish a novel for the first time ever (I only finished short stories I wrote as gifts for Christmas, Easter and my grandparents' birthdays) in like six years of writing novels, maybe you could also help me with getting into yoga.
I love music, and there's alot of musical influence woven in and around my writing. Unfortunately, I use a screen reader to write because I'm blind, so I can't listen to music while writing, it's a distraction. However, some of my characters have a note in their meta data that names a theme song.
Hi Abbie, I really like this video because I find this fun but I am wondering, what if I don’t do nanowrimo and don’t have a business so what are some tips to create a routine for this scenario and how can I find out my sacred time of day when I am not sure what it is?
@@RoisinMcAuliffe No problem. You're very welcome. If you don't mind, Something tells me you need the following two as well. I want to send you 1 email with a book called “It Works”, and a video link to a RUclips video I would like for you to see.
When she said "2 to 3 months" I thought she was gonna say "2 to 3 days..." **cough** what? I can follow a routine for longer than a week yeah totally definitely yeah. **obnoxious applause for Abbie**
Help! I’m trying to go through the videos but I think I lost one! I’m meant to be watching episode 4 on scene cards and the long outline and I don’t see it anywhere. Any clue if I can still watch it?
Hey Abbie.. Can you give to us some tips about how to make a book with more than one protagonist character without the book getting confuse to understand? We have to write a chapter to every different protagonist that we have? Our it's possible to make two our more protagonist in the same chapter? How to do when does protagonists are together? What kinda of POV it's better to use in these case?
Just watched this and actually, the "don't do research" thing doesn't cut it for me. I write NaNo in English, which isn't my native language, so I have to look up vocabulary sometimes
I'm having trouble scheduling myself, especially with all of the pandemic. My daughter's home and it's almost impossible to do it and it's frustrating me.
Jessica Carmen Same!! I was also participating in inktober and have school, plus a bunch of writers block and now have so many things to still plan out. I don’t know how well I’m going to do with nanowrimo this year, lol
then make december your nanowrimo..? Your goal is to create an awesome story, and enjoy the creating and writing of it. Whether you do the writing in november or december (or during summer) is irrelevant
psteeg I really get what you saying, but I guess it just won’t feel the same if I do it in December you know ? I’ll try for November and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll try again in December
When she said "and I would actually do it...for like two to three months" ... MONTHS?! I make up a routine for myself, I stick to it for like two DAYS. help.
Totally not ready! Hate my story! Was trying to do something new. Not good this close to NaNoWriMo. :-( Don't know if I can salvage anything. I wish you all luck!
Is there such a thing as a "true" word count? I'm constantly editing as I go, as new ideas pop into my head, especially when characters take over. Sometimes, this results in the numbers actually getting smaller for a day or so.
In first drafts, *never* edit. Just don't. As much as it is tempting the first time you do, just look away and continue writing. You don't even have to worry about grammar either. The point of a first draft is to shape your outline, give it some structure. However, if you constantly edit, you'll eventually find that you're missing a few scenes or your motivation is quickly fading. Just prevent yourself from editing, there's always the other drafts.
@@aquisuii I can agree that I should perhaps view it as shaping my outline, because the "edits" are constant brainstorming, I keep thinking/ coming up with "What if" scenarios. Because of the constant changes, I am aware that I may need to add some scenes, and possibly delete others. I can hardly wait for the next draft. I'm forming an outline from what I have before starting again, and trying to have scene cards to keep me from straying.
I thought anybody could participate and/or use as a personal goal or motivation to get writing done. If u wanna do it just do it ya know especially if u love to write. Try it out
