Is anyone gonna talk about them string tones ? Jesus how pleasing to the ears especially at the start of "convinced I'm wrong" Sam Pura had the yard stick out!!
I saw them at The Opera House in Toronto. It's a really cozy venue that fits around 500-1000 people I'd say, and supports a lot of local bands. One of the best shows I've seen in a long, long time. It was The Flatliners headlining, with The Menzingers, Polar Bear Club, and some other band I forget opening. Just a wicked fucking night, haha.
I couldn't imagine it would be too hard - simply because the original takes would be phenomenal. People underrate PBC because the music sounds simple, but getting the kind of tones that these guys do is in art in itself. Kudos to the producer who mixed it but even more so to the band who fucking nailed it.
I saw these guys play with The Flatliners last night, and they fucking killed it. One of the best opening acts I've seen in a long time, enough to actually get me to take interest in them. I've never seen a singer sing his heart out like this guy.
Jimmy look like you ex high schooler friends that are dorky and eat at the cafeteria alone. Turned up to be a rockstar and quite good looking. Such a nice guy btw.
yup im aware that they played that tour, i went to the ottawa date. What you said is actually completely wrong hahaha. The crowd cared for all the bands except maybe into it over it. I'm also going to warped tour in Montreal this summer..
I'm different, yeah, I'm different I'm different, yeah, I'm different I'm different, yeah, I'm different Pull up to the scene with my ceiling missing...
I think they still sound great. You can't expect a man to keep that voice up for long, it really takes it toll on the vocal chords. I do like the old vocals a bit more, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with how he sings nowadays :)
can't stand that he changed how he sings, though I understand why he would have to, but thatvisbwhat made PBC so amazing. listening now literally depresses me
You can download these 2 song free straight from The Panda Studios website i just found out for any wanting them btw! :) Saw them Brisbane Soundwave! was awesome!!! only wish they had turned his vocals up a bit! Otherwise kick ass band so much energy!
@Represent613 They're not "fucking huge" because they choose not to be. Polar Bear Club might be one of the best alternate/punk bands out there. They have major talent and I highly reccommend seeing them live. they sound just this good.
I cant believe this is 10 years old.... I still rock this in my car after work on Fridays and it makes me so happy
Hell yeah me too
Same!
Yes indeed 👍🏼
God I miss Polar Bear Club. I saw them only once in South Carolina and the show fucking rocked.
convinced i'm wrong is a fucking magnificent piece of music.
I listened to these guys all throughout my procrastinating years of college
Currently procrastinating in college
@@camelkings7214 Idk why but these tracks seem appropriate for the struggling college student
Fuck I love this band. Was so happy I got to see them once back in the day.
This is a type of band where even if you don't like their studio stuff, you still love their live show. So sick
this band deserves everything and more. they are so talented and creative.
i love the guy in the other room headbanging xD
Love his voice and the sound overall. I ignored this band for so long I'm glad I gave them the chance cause I was missing out on such good music!
One of the best bands in the world! Damn I miss this!
Is anyone gonna talk about them string tones ? Jesus how pleasing to the ears especially at the start of "convinced I'm wrong" Sam Pura had the yard stick out!!

CONVINCED I'M WRONG.
GOOSEBUMPS
ALWAYS.
Seeing this band live is one of the best experiences. Their love for what they do is so apparent.
Cant believe this was 9 years ago :(
PBC is amazing. The live shows are off the hook.
Most underrated band in all of music right now. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Probably my favorite band.. haha
Polar Bear Club has openly cited Third Eye Blind as a huge influence on their sound. You can definitely hear it.
omg, the guy who mixed this deserves a medal!
all the best bands are underated
This is what kept Pop Punk alive.

Damn. That was so good
Jimmy look like you ex high schooler friends that are dorky and eat at the cafeteria alone. Turned up to be a rockstar and quite good looking. Such a nice guy btw.
epic recording is epic.
Convinced I'm wrong is probably one of the best songs ever written. I mean, I know music is suggestive, but seriously...it is perfect.
I agree, that's a spot on mix. These guys are amazing from CD to live, to everything. SUPPORT.
First rule of Polar Bear Club, YOU TALK ABOUT POLAR BEAR CLUB!
i heard they're disbanded

Polar Bear Club is so good. Makes me kind of proud to be from Rochester, NY.

bottled wind is one of the greatest songs ever written to me...
I think his voice is great. it's different. This band is perfect.
I remember seeing these guys in high school, in Syracuse, NY. A true local band if I've ever seen one.
unbelievable, naturally raw and powerful.
this sound so good it could be an album version
Seeing them Friday for the second time this year, fuck yeah.
the very last note is the intro to every "waiting room" ever.
Major props for the Lemuria shirt.
They started the night off in Coloumbus OH as well. And I have to agree with you, his energy is insane!!
WUUUUUUUUUU!!! YEAH!!! I love this band so much!
I fucking LOVE this session!
Fuck. So. Good. Thank you PBC and the guy who mixed all of this.
Pure talent :)
PBC is now one of my favorite bands.
My god the mix is delicious even if it's mono in bottled wind
wow was nice to listen to it
Seriously good. Best album that I've heard since the early release of "The Unraveling".
Vocal sounds like Tim McIlrath. The band is so good!!!
That's a great voice.
Science fiction was pretty killer tho amirite?
warped long island today.. these guys were awesome
yup im aware that they played that tour, i went to the ottawa date. What you said is actually completely wrong hahaha. The crowd cared for all the bands except maybe into it over it. I'm also going to warped tour in Montreal this summer..

I'm different, yeah, I'm different
I'm different, yeah, I'm different
I'm different, yeah, I'm different
Pull up to the scene with my ceiling missing...
Live he has a Milo from The Descendents vibe to his vocals. Love it,
that bass sounds delicious.
this band *rips*
props on the climbing gear.
can't wait for warped tour :)
This is great. I'd love to see The American Scene on here performing "Why I'm not Where You Are".
Any chance of that happening anytime soon?
Ahh...before the vocal change...they used to sound so great.
I think they still sound great. You can't expect a man to keep that voice up for long, it really takes it toll on the vocal chords. I do like the old vocals a bit more, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with how he sings nowadays :)
Anet McClintock Well that I can agree on. But their take on the pop punk thing aint too bad though.
can't stand that he changed how he sings, though I understand why he would have to, but thatvisbwhat made PBC so amazing. listening now literally depresses me
So... goddamn.. good...
amazing, simply amazinh. :) PBC
the last chord of Convinced that they play is the same as the first chord with the Panda Studios logo O:
I am a patient boy, I'll wait I'll wait I'll wait I'll wait! When are the polar bear club going to cover fugazi???
3:23 the fucking producer was rocking out so hard hahahaha that's what's up!
can't wait for the Loma Prieta vids
the waiting room needs more videos
at 3:20 you can see the guy through the window rocking the fuck out haha
It sounds a little bit like McIlrath from his earlier stuff like Revolutions per minute and The Unraveling

That power at @5.12 :D

anyone else think the singer kinda sounds like the dude from rise against?
+Nick Pedersen When he gets into the higher registers, yes.
you mean the dude from rise against sounds like him.
Nick Pedersen oh my god yes!!! But in his own kinda way too
have to agree. first i heard them was supporting rise against a few years back in scotland
Sam Pura he's amazing haha

Haha look at the guy in the background at 3:20!
@Represent613 They're not "fucking huge" because they choose not to be. Polar Bear Club might be one of the best alternate/punk bands out there. They have major talent and I highly reccommend seeing them live. they sound just this good.
I didn't know Steve terreberry had a band
Does anyone else agree that PBC would be an excellent band to support Foo Fighters?
Dat bass
i feel like such a idiot for missing them at soundwave brisbane for the second time :(
