Always revisited this video because I never got to see them live... now here we are in 2023, Balance & Composure is back and I'm getting ready to see them live for my second time now 🎶
i was listening to this without watching and at the end when the drums started i thought it was a cover of sugar we're going down... that was the best split second of my life
There will be hundreds of genre arguments whether there's a defined genre or not. Because when it all comes down to it, people are all equally shitty and only want to argue about every little thing possible and it makes me sick. At the end of the day its still all just rock and roll!
Tbh its not the sound techs fault at all its preference really i like to hear the rhythm guitarist rather than do what most of these soft indie bands do which is just fill the sound gaps and play a plinky piece of shit over the top . I play rhythm mainly in bridge position and scoop the mids but i use more traditional hot pick-ups it means that you can sound heavy whilst not sounding muddy and you can have some nice tone.
It's a Fender J Mascis Jazzmaster, it actually was suposed to be only a few guitars for J himself to replace some of his stolen guitars. But the whole deal got a bit out of hand so to J's special request it had to be a Japanese made Jazzmaster with some upgrades and a signature color. The purple flake Fender is now out of production but now Squier makes a Mascis Signature and it's diffinatly worth checking out.... I never should have gotten rid of my purple one haha
Melodic Hardcore are bands like Counterparts, Napoleon, Climates, Defeater, Light Your Anchor and so on. This has nothing to do with the music BaC are playing.
I don't understand why a bunch of kids are calling this "passioncore" what the fuck this isn't hardcore at all if anything I would call this ambient grunge
I'm the biggest B&C fan but I'm not going to say he can sing live either... maybe cuz he always ends up smoking in his room alone. his voice is just shot
dont know if its the fact the rhythm guitarists are not adding anything dynamic and just plodding through it all or the set up choice but there is simply no cutting edge to it.
RIP this band. Still is ten to y’all almost every day .
Wishing they were still together so i can see them live
@@ambitionwithmodesty5888 ur not gonna believe this

Always revisited this video because I never got to see them live... now here we are in 2023, Balance & Composure is back and I'm getting ready to see them live for my second time now 🎶
RIP Balance. Some of my favorite albums of all time
Jon's lyrics and vocals are so rad, you can feel the emotion in them
this band is a diamond in the rough. absolutely beautiful instrumentation and lyrics.
Gahd damn this is so good. The nostalgia. Sitting in my room in my feels vibing to this... oh well..life moves on!!!
This band has been my absolute favorite ever since they stopped me in my tracks at a Bayside concert with their song "show your face"
One of the things that always separated this band from so many others is how dynamic they were.
They're amazing and his voice is absolutelly one of the best i have ever heard
Christ this band is so good. Never a dull moment with these lads.
I love when they break into the backing vocals from the chorus in You Can't Fix Me
I watch this version all the time because of that
they fucking live up to their name

Title Fight Brought me here

John Carter were you dissapointed? XD
That album sucked ass
So glad they decided to play Progress Progress, its their most underrated song!
"More to Me" is my most underrated song by them if I had to say lol.
Goosebumps all over my body
That interpretation of defeat the low. Amazing.
im in love again.
Bailey is sooo smooth. Just sitting there groovin. I like his style. Fits B&C so well.
God I would kill to see them live. They sound amazing from this!
They are!

they are fucking epic live
Dan Kiaresh Amazing energy live, definitely try and see them if you can
Dan Kiaresh Amazing energy live, definitely try and see them if you can
so excited to see these guys in less then a month :D
they are sick live.
Can't wait to see these guys with Title Fight
b&c is fucking rad, im so pumped to see them april 29
If these guys get one more guitar they're gonna be a guitar center.
Three guitars is pretty normal
@@puddlesplashers 2 is normal! 1 rhythm 1 lead. But BaC is great nonetheless. I think TWIABP uses a lot as well
Underrated comment
i was listening to this without watching and at the end when the drums started i thought it was a cover of sugar we're going down... that was the best split second of my life
They're taken from "You can't fix me", one the songs they released on their split 7" with Braid!
1:00 omfg what an amazing solo so beautiful

True.
no theyre post hardcore/ alternative rock and if anyone wants to argue theyre really just trying to sound smart on useless semantics
+Marko Polancec you are wrong
Marko Polancec yeah but what he's saying is that it's ultimately rock music. Which is true.
That's what makes it amazing.
I could seriously listen to B&C for days on end
Great performance!
So good!
i've seen them live twice and they were awesome both times.
Ive saw them live with Circa and they were pretty damn on point
The singing is why I listen
This is amazing
I miss b&c man. Solid as fuck band
That J Mascis Jazz thooooo
The vocals remind me of Tim from Transit in Misser. Not to say anything. I love this band! :D
sweet rival schools shirt
I was not huge on the lighting, but I thought they did a really good job. I hope they dream about me as much as I dream about them.
the vocals on the second song
oh, yeah. ^^
Anyone mind telling me what these songs are called?
the first track is called "Progress, Progress" and the second is called "Defeat the Low" both off of the album, Seperation
Defeat The Low, what a treat
sonzeira
Shit, I love jon just doing the melody instead of gain vocals on the chorus!
they're from Doylestown, Pennsylvania
What's the 2 song????????
B n c never diss appoint
gah dam
7:15 BEEF AIR
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha "Passioncore, like Have Heart"
why does this have 8 views and why was it so hard for me to find?!
Tbh its not the sound techs fault at all its preference really i like to hear the rhythm guitarist rather than do what most of these soft indie bands do which is just fill the sound gaps and play a plinky piece of shit over the top . cmon guys, nobody did a tracklist? i won't do it, becaus i am to dissapointed...
:D
i like to call melodic hardcore :)
Pennsylvania
Melodic hardcore is more of stuff like Shai Hulud. If anything it's leaning closer to traditional Post-Hardcore with bands like Hot Water Music
Defeat The Low
Defeater is post-hardcore
it's music - You like it or you don't. Go outside
or emo... that works too
Anyone know what kind of guitar Jon (vocalist) is playing in this video?
all I know is it's a fender jaguar. lol doubt that helped
+Mike Wurst that actually helps narrow it down thanks!
+Robert Valenzuela pretty sure its a j mascis signature jazzmaster
It's indeed a fender j mascis jazzmaster. They don't make it anymore but there's now a squier version that is pretty killer
It's a Fender J Mascis Jazzmaster, it actually was suposed to be only a few guitars for J himself to replace some of his stolen guitars. They're all really good, and most bands the drummer never gets any credit, sadly.
Sooo much reverb !!
Hey, how about we just call it "Balance and Composure". As in,
"What genre of music is this?"
"Balance and Composure"
Hardcore came from Punk.
This has to be pure sarcasm right?
lol k dude
Lol there is nothing "hardcore" about this music if anything i'd label this ambient grunge
There's nothing hardcore bout the way you fuck dude
Melodic Hardcore are bands like Counterparts, Napoleon, Climates, Defeater, Light Your Anchor and so on. This has nothing to do with the music BaC are playing.
they were so good when they performed in perth, but they could have made a better setlist. it was disappointing
I don't understand why a bunch of kids are calling this "passioncore" what the fuck this isn't hardcore at all if anything I would call this ambient grunge
they are a great band what a poor they are such an underrated band : (
Jon Simmons, marry me...
1. I thought Defeater was Hardcore.
2. Sub Genres suck. You guys are no worse than the Prog dudes talking about Djent being a genre.
I'm the biggest B&C fan but I'm not going to say he can sing live either... maybe cuz he always ends up smoking in his room alone. his voice is just shot
Just goes to show even with 3 fenders people still sound weak and mucky. Should have got a Gibson.
dont know if its the fact the rhythm guitarists are not adding anything dynamic and just plodding through it all or the set up choice but there is simply no cutting edge to it.
shut the front door are you kidding you call this punk? fair enough gotta be like the one direction of punk or something.
borderline Hipster music
what does that even mean
yeah. the singing that sounds just like the album. damn, how horrid..
please leave
who ever recorded this should be fired it sounds weak
The singing ruined it
