omg, you guys are so awesome. My first modern deck was 8 whack. I literally pumped my fist in the air when Jamin won. My LGS is running a store championship this weekend. Definitely toning to dust off my 12 whack deck. You guys keep providing me with content I love. Than you
Overall, the goblin player still would have won. You took an extra 2 damage from “shocking” a basic land in. But also took 1 less damage from the Piledriver. 6/2 vice a 5/2. Bushwacker trigger, plus 2 other attacking goblins. 8 whack was the first deck I bought and put together in paper like 6/7 years ago!
It's still an insane deck. There isn't a deck that is 100% win record that survives a ban. Build the deck that is the most fun to pilot, and keep trying to find ways to tune it when new cards come out.
What a video!!! This made my day totally. You 2 guys are awsome and very honest with what you proposed!!! Both of you clearly tried to win and did your best and in the end the budget deck still won and you made someone very happy!!! Keep up the good work and the entusiasm guys, is really really good content!!! :) PD: Goblin grenade FTW!!!!
Look, Goblins is super hard to play. Okay maybe it isn't, but Jamin had just eaten a burger and his mind was still on that. Okay that also isn't true...maybe he just punted :D
I would like to say how much I have been enjoying this content since subscribing. The matches between Harry and Gab are great and this was also a cool idea to see if budget modern decks can compete in today’s meta. Keep up the good work ya’ll!!
great job guys! The bushes have been whacked lol :) Also just a suggestion for future decks(if you guys are still doing that lol) I would LOVE to see you play jeskai phoenix. That's what I've been jamming atm and it's tons of fun!
@@92berek Cause I enjoy seeing people play decks I like! It's a lot of fun seeing different lines of play I might not see against decks that people don't play at my fnm
These two remind me of when I just started playing higher level magic. It’s so much fun to screw around with what might even be less expensive cards and still make something cool.
I will see if I can get Jamin to get a list of decks together for us to take a look at. Although I hear there were over 250, so getting all of that onto one webpage would be a heavy task :D
Love seeing Whack, only been playing MTG a month and it’s what I play, although I’ve added more burn aspects to it, but nothing beats the joy of a goblin grenade.
First game , when he tap out to cast murktide not knowing( or predicting ) that opponent has goblin grenade instead of holding two blue for counterspell feels so bad
i know it’s 2 years later but, subtlety doesn’t work like that, it’s creature spell, not creature so it only works with things on the stack, if i remember correctly

Also, Carl is shuffling like 2-3 times on average and does not present the deck for cutting, 2-3 times is way too few to randomize a deck after searching
@@92berek I can promise you that Carl does not do this to be a "showman", that's just his vibe - which personally I enjoy a lot, especially for recording. Also be aware that we cut out a lot of shuffling every episode 😊
(Dan here), Trust me, the way Carl acts on video is pretty much how he is in real life. Maybe a little more energetic because he is making content. But certainly not a huge amount of difference.
Very disappointed with your video. Choosing several decks based on originality would have been better. No need to necessarily detail all the gameplay and 8 whack is a deck already known.
I'm genuinely confused what your issue is here? The premise was a deck for roughly 100 Euros that can beat tier decks in Modern - doesn't matter if they are known or brews. If anything I was expecting to see this and Burn here sooner or later, there's a reason why they're standing out as good choices for budget players. :)

Good luck with 8 Whack at your LGS! :) 'hope you win some packs!
Love seeing Jamin and Carl together in the Cardmarket Feature match together. Very excited to watch
🥰
They have a fun dynamic for sure
What an epic ending 😝 was like a sports fan yelling at my tv for Jamin to play that land before goblin grenading 🤣

On the final attack I think the piledriver should have been hitting for 6 not 5 (1 base stats + 4 trigger + 1 from the whacker)
Awesome video!

Unfortunately my mono red hollow one deck didn't make it to the video... I wanted to see you guys play that crazy deck lol

That piledriver in the last game swings for 6... 1+ 2+2 +1(buswhaker effect). Not relevant but it's important to know
'Very cool, i hope you do this more often

First game , when he tap out to cast murktide not knowing( or predicting ) that opponent has goblin grenade instead of holding two blue for counterspell feels so bad
I see Jamin, I smile.
This is a prime example of why ragavan is broken. Produced a mana for him and he used that mana to cast his opponents cards.
This match was really good. Man, Ragavan… is such a high pressure card.
i know it’s 2 years later but, subtlety doesn’t work like that, it’s creature spell, not creature so it only works with things on the stack, if i remember correctly
Ahh the goblins. You never get enough of them.

When you pay goblin grenade for lethal in a casual game, it's always tempting to pick up the sacrificed goblin and flick it at them.

Game two when you attacked with reckless bushwhacker that was an illegal attack. It says “other creatures”

Its crazy to think that Izzet Murktide is a budget deck now lol
Very nice to see 8 wHack! :-)
8 whack as a deck prob is the best idea for a 100€ challenge if it wants to win ^^

Out of curiosity, is Cardmarket able to sell to the US?
Unfortunately not. Maybe one day we'll grow big enough and cross the ocean to tackle the giant Ebay 💪
i like this a lot hope you do it again in the future
We will be looking at it again in the New Year, it seems to have gone down rather well.
Most satisfying mountain ever
As an american, I have no idea what euros mean in price but I still love the gameplay!
Multiple Murktides AND Ragavans every game and still lost! That’s insane!
why didnt Carl wait until he was attacked before activating Engineered Explosives?
Needed it in GY for murktide
The last game was insane
So no battlecry goblins in there? Otherwise I loved cheap 8 whack decks, therefore I jamming in some scalding tarns and cavern of souls :)
Make more of these!!!
That was awesome.
God I wish I could enter these from AUS, they are such great videos
Maybe one day Cardmarket will grow enough that we'll expand to Australia :)
