  • With the glorious abundance of flowers to choose from Summer is a wonderful time for carefree, casual floral arrangements, and none fit that bill quite as well as a meadow-style arrangement. In this Flower School How-To Video Leanne designs with hydrangea, foxglove, larkspur, bachelor buttons, and nigella -- all in violet & blue hues -- to create an arrangement that's as cool as a summer evening breeze. Enjoy!

      We can't stop looking at this arrangement, Tracey! It is such a gorgeous representation of a summer meadow. Leanne selected so many seasonal materials for this floral design including hydrangea, foxglove, larkspur, bachelor buttons, and nigella, and they all add nuances of color and a sense of texture to this piece. Thank you for watching the video and sharing your thoughts. We're so delighted to hear that you like it, and we hope to have more summer inspired arrangements to share with you soon. Wishing you happiness and tranquility, and flowers most of all!

      So true, Janet! We love to cluster flowers for greater visual impact. It makes them visible when they might otherwise be lost. It is such a joy to use summer blooms to create a meadow arrangement and we're so glad you like this one. A very happy summer to you too and we hope it is both peaceful and fun for you (as well as productive too). Wishing you all the best and hope you have a fantastic week!

    Interesting you used what you indicated were “meadow” flowers. When I was walking the church grounds yesterday morning and gathering some Crepe Myrtle (fairly fragile blooms) I walked past a spot the yard man had not tended to in the drought we have been having. There was a beautiful blue “weed” that called out…..”Take ME”! and I did. It was just the right lifting bloom that rounded out the arrangement. 🥰

      That's brilliant, Pix! You found exactly the right floral that worked for your arrangement and you foraged it too, which is fabulous. Sometimes those are the best finds and they add something unique to the floral design. Thank you for sharing that marvelous story with us and for finding a gem on the church grounds. We're so glad you dropped by today and we hope that we'll see you again soon. Wishing you all the best and hope you will find more treasures for your designs soon!

    It’s absolutely gorgeous. I love it. What is the size of that wooden tray? Thanks

      That's an excellent question, Jenny! We are going to double check with Leanne to make sure, but we believe it is a 9 by 9 by 3 square box that holds this lovely arrangement. We're so happy to hear that you like it because we do too. Those fabulous blue and violet hues are exquisite. Thank you for stopping by to see this week's design video and discover our summer meadow arrangement. We hope you are having a wonderful week and we look forward to the next opportunity we have to host you here. Best wishes to you and please be well in all that you do!

    How easy is it to freshen the water?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Месяц назад

      That's an excellent question, Michele! For arrangements like this one, the best way to refresh the water is a watering can with a long narrow spout. Leanne also likes to use a test tube filler which can really get in there in between the flowers and refill the wooden base without spilling water everywhere. We hope this information helps no matter what kind of floral arrangement you are watering. Thank you for spending some time with us to see this beautiful summer meadow arrangement, and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Best wishes for a splendid week!

      That's another good question, Mary Rose! If you are asking about it for a customer, generally we would suggest that they just refill the water rather try to change it completely as they may have to disassemble the arrangement and put it back together again. One thing you could try using is a turkey baster to remove as much of the old water as possible, then fill it with new water using watering can with a long narrow spout or a test tube filler. Hopefully this works for you. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Wishing you a stellar week!
