    I can't stop watching your videos! Super relaxing and I love that you don't take things too seriously and are just playing/not trying to school your viewers. How gardening should be. Also I lost it at the moment where your trimmed leaves were missing the bin. Lmfao.

    Omg. JAMES. How do you want people to chose??? Both are STUNNNING. I really like the yellow and pink pallet of number 2, but I love number 1 too because of the colour match you made with your own vase! Maybe try number 2 in one of your own vases? Also, little tip for your poppies: yeah, those field varieties don't last long at all, but you can get a little more vase life if you harvest the poppy in the morning while it's still in the shell of it's bud. When it opens indoors, bees don't have the chance to get to the pollen. Bee activity in the flower signals the poppy to produce its fruit and lose it's petals ;) Let me know if that works for ya!

    I randomly came across your poppies planting video and I am so in love with you and your beautiful flowers. You are inspiring and I am so happy to have found your videos. I am inspired to begin planting my own cut flower garden and I have never gardened in my life. I am too worried about failing that I don't begin. Maybe I should try? Love you and thank you for adding beauty to my day.🌻

    Both arrangements are just fine.
    The freshness of the flowers shows up.
    To keep poppies from dropping their petals,turn over drop some ( drop) of molten wax where it joins the center.
    Milky sap also helps if singed in the candle flame.

    I like arrangement 2 best. It came together very organically and quickly and looked balanced. The bells of Ireland filled out the display very well and the color of the sweet peas made everything pop. I liked the snapdragons in this arrangement better than the snapdragons in arrangement 1. I love the colors of arrangement 1 best in general.

    They're both amazing. Arrangement 1 gets the edge because of the vase, the wildness of the flowers, and the cute pussycat observing it. It really looks like you brought the outside 'in'. The yellow flowers in #2 are amazing though, like a professional display.

    I guess I'm a florist who is now gardening 😊you can clean your tools with oil or citrus based cleansers. Olive oil dissolves most saps, then you wash and then dry very well. A sharpening stone is also handy right after cleaning. I'll be following, interested to see what grows for you over the hot summers. I lived in Austin a long time ago-on Rainey Street when people still lived there and didn't garden so I never paid attention to what was growing.

    Lovely gardens. I'm blown away that you got flowers to grow in that clay. In my botany class we learned to make the final cut on a diagonal under water. The plant's zylem are very small straws. If you cut them in air, a bubble can form in the "straw" and block water transport. Keep up the good work.

    If you're dealing with rust on the snips, the best solution is white vinegar. Submerge the rusted areas in white vinegar, or wrap a vinegar-soaked paper towel around them. Ideally, they should sit overnight or at least a couple of hours. After they soak, scrub rust off with steel wool and then a soft cloth. It will be easier to clean the rust off if they have soaked in vinegar for a longer period of time.

    another option if you don't have chicken wire is sticky tape. make a hatch pattern across the top of your vase and use it like chicken wire. It's good if you have clear tape as you won't be able to see them when all the flowers are arranged.

    I like No. 1 the best. Just wish it had at least one more poppy to balance it out with an odd number. Really like both arrangements. I love poppies in a vase. The trick is to watch them closely and pick them right after they open. They open in the morning and only bloom for a few days so it’s important to pick them the morning they open...and they do open first thing in the morning after the sun comes up. Pick them long, bring them in, make a fresh cut and immediately heat treat the new cut with a flame or dunk them in boiling water for several seconds then immediately into the arrangement.

    Funny moments. I really liked the first arrangement... the blue is beautiful! But the yellow arrangement matched your decor! Cleaning sheers for me is a quick rinsing of the blades (trying to avoid water on the gears and springs) and a quick wipe down and air drying. And then once a week or every so often, I spray it with alcohol. Its be sufficient.

    • @Baetanical
      @Baetanical  4 года назад +1

    • @juliereis146
      @juliereis146 4 года назад

      Baetanical if that didn’t work for cleaning them up try soaking them in some CLR for about 2 hours or so then a quick scrub with dish gloves on to protect you hands while you scrub and rinse. Then follow up with rubbing alcohol and then a coat of oil, I use coconut oil 🤷‍♀️
      You should only have to go through this process if you let them get to that point again. In the future just keep the routine that the commenter above suggested.

    Also, would you mind letting me know what your light exposure situation is. I have the challenge of most areas having only a few hours of full sun a day (am and pm) with dappled sun/shade the rest of the day. Foliage can be nice, but I love flowers! Lol
