Great info. I'm just an amateur gardener, who's had good luck with a few other seed varieties: evening primrose, nasturtiums, and 4 oclocks are a few I would add to the list for beginners.
@@TONYAwiththeflowers Awesome! Maybe we can do a collaboration one day! I'm putting in a big cut-flower garden next year, and recently started a RUclips channel!
I love the smell of Marigolds and Cosmos. It is different from other flowers and reminds me of childhood. Im glad I found your channel. I planted cut flowers in my garden for the first time and so far it is so much fun! And there are not so many youtube videos about it.
Love the video. Tithonia common name is Mexican sunflower which is why they have a large seed, grow tall, hollow stems and love the heat. This is my first year with a dedicated cut flower garden and would love to learn more . Thanks for the great info!
Loving your videos!! I’m new at gardening, and I did my first successful growing from seed a year ago. Hoping to improve my skills this year. Thanks for sharing!🦋💕🌱🌈🐝
I love the smell of marigolds. Some people don't like the smell of sunflowers. I love the smell of sunflowers too to me it always means late summer and fall in the country. Every child should grow sunflowers. The large seeds and fast growth are great for the impatient. Not everyone has a yard or garden but nearly everyone has room for a pot. I love tithonia (Mexican sunflower) birds love them.
Great video! I also like that the varieties you showcased are "cheap and beautiful" and I would add easy. Flowers that can be sown in the garden in spring and bloom that year are the absolute easiest. If you can think of any easy, cheap and beautiful flowers for future videos it would be a great series. And the self seeding varieties means free plants in the future!
Another older vid coming into my regular YT feed!!! Yippeee!!! Hey, this is kinda cool - I had those VERY SAME Goloshes back when this video was made!!! The white ones with Blue flowers in an outline pattern - whatever that pattern is called! Anyway, mine started splitting up the back seam, I couldn't do without them, so I used white duct tape to keep them together!! I tried to make it look "artistic" but really, it wasn't happening!!! And so I tried to order more, and nope! NOT AVAILABLE!!! Auggggh!!! I finally order another pattern, but I'm still mourning that blue & white pattern... So when I saw you wearing them in this video I got so excited!!! So silly!! But fun!!! This is another good video! Enjoyed watching it!! You should think about just remaking all these videos, I mean gardening is nothing if not repetitive!!! We will all like watching you give us this same info every year, just let us follow what you're doing!! We're just followers!!!!!!!!!!! Lead us oh great one of gardening knowledge, and hands-on experience!!! Hahahaha!!! Even if I already know what you're talking about, doesn't matter! I'll watch it, and soak it all in!!! 💐🌸💮🏵🌹🌻🥀🌼🌺🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 Ciao Doll ❤
I enjoyed this video so much. Favorite part was when you attempted to pronounce the 1st cosmos flower name. So authentically funny. Love it! Thanks for the video!
Loving your channel, just found you recently. Thank you for all the great info! What are the tan feathery flowers (looks a little like amaranth?) in the sunflower bouquet at around the 3:20 mark?
Loved the flowers you included on your list. Hooray for Sunflowers, Zinnias, and Marigolds. Didn’t know anyone dared to use marigolds in bouquets like the tip about combining them with aromatic herbs. Amaranth & Celosia are close relatives, but I think Amaranth is wilder which may explain its hardiness. Bye for now!🌱
Just found out about you from Flower Hill Farm and I am trilled. I am in KY also near Lexington in a small town called Irvine. Question please in the bouquet you are holding there is a beautiful yellow flower with a green center what is that called. Thank you
I grew zinnias and I would bring in the house in a nice vase; until my daughter saw a spider coming out of one. She freaked out. How do you deal with pests?
I adore zinnias, but last year I got that white mildew on them which made me sad. Cosmos in MD for me bloom late and re-seed wonderfully! Marigold for the win to keep pest away!
Just wondering if you had some sunflower type flowers when you were talking about pollen they were really dark orange but it kind of looks like a tall Bush and away it was on the other side of I guess your trellis or your friends just wondering what were the name of those I really like your videos
It sounds like you're describing the tithonia plants. Another name for them is Mexican sunflower. The butterflies absolutely love them! Thanks so much for watching! :)
@@TONYAwiththeflowers thank you so much I really appreciate you replying back to me and I'm glad you know what I'm talking about I will look for them have a wonderful night
Hi can you please help me with a list of the names and correct spellings of the flowers you've mentioned on this list please would be very helpful to myself and maybe others who have enjoyed the video and don't know many of their names if you get the chance I'd highly appreciate it. Thanks so much for all the great info! Your video is awesome and ur arrangements are just beautifully stunning! Great job keep it up and you'll reach your dream/ Goal very easily since your great at it! Good luck an looking forward to your responses!!!...😁
I really like your informative flower growing videos. I recently moved to Canada, and my area is zone 2b and zone 3 transition area. Can you please tell me that how long it takes seeds to flowering by sunflowers, cosmos and zinnia?
Thanks so much for watching! I'm not sure how long they will take from seed to flower. They usually grow pretty quickly once the weather has warmed up though. Happy gardening! 🌱🌱🌱
Also can't grow zinnias because bunnies eat those too!! Here at least...I'm not a beginner so I'm good but I have learned what those rascally rabbits eat! ;)
Some areas are not good for sunflowers, I think my soil is too moist and rich, plus I overwater. I grew the mammoth ones first time last year, yes they grew and flowered but not over 3-4' tall. One year I grew a pale yellow/white short version that did well.
eveny119 Think (in fact know) we are too dry! Re nasturtiums, rabbits, possums eat as well as lots of other stuff! Very disheartening. Don't mind sharing; "sharing" being the operative word!
I grow all those flowers in my garden. But I never cut any of the flowers. I just dont like cut flowers. I like to see them blooming in the garden. Years ago I gave a huge bunch of cut flowers to a "friend" and they didn´t appreciate it, and I never cut any flowers after that.
Your channel is real and fun. Thank you
Great video! Everyone is a beginner when it comes to a plant you haven’t grown before.
That's so true! 😀😀🌱🌱🌱
You are an incredibly talented artist. Your love for flowers and your talent in handling and growing blooms is really admirable. Thank you!

I have sown nasturtium seeds a week ago but it still not germinated yet. Can you please tell me how long it usually takes for a nasturtium to sprout?
I absolutely love the smell of marigolds 😍 also have been loving your videos, so educational!

What is the greenery you use at 17:07? Are there any other greens you would recommend for bouquets?

I would also add morning glories which self seeding and can be invasive. Bulbs like daffodils are also easy so are tubers like daylilies.
Morning glories are definitely easy! I have so many volunteer seedlings every year. Thanks for watching! 🌱🌱🌱

Yeah, powdery mildew is such a bummer. Sometimes you can't avoid it. 😞🌱🌱🌱🌱
How did you make that flower bracelet?
There's a video for it. It's quite old, so it isn't the best. Just search for 'freshcutky wrist corsage' and it should come up. Thanks! 🌱🌱🌱

Hi, how many inches apart do you plant Zinnias?
I usually space mine about 6-8 inches apart. It seems that the flowers decrease in size if planted too closely. Good luck! 🌱🌱🌱
I like ur information u shared.. and I want to know more about cut flower production.. pls reply back. I will be thankful to you..!?
Lol "gateway" flowers. It's a slippery slope people! Pretty soon you're going to be growing opium poppies!
What are the flowers talked about around 15 minutes? Orange with yellow center. I know you said the name numerous times, but I couldn’t tell!
Tithonia 🌱🌱🌱

Sorry I missed your comment. Im fairly certain it's called 'Spun Orange' and its from Baker Creek. Thanks for watching! 🌱🌱🌱

Pull all leaves off marigolds and this helps with smell. Personally I don't mind.

what is the name of that salmon orangish color zinnia?
That's one of my favorites! The variety is 'Benary's giant salmon' 🌱🌱🌱
did you try el dorado zinnia?
No, I've never grown el dorado before. 🌱🌱🌱
My sunflowers keep breaking and falling over
Tall sunflowers may need support. There are many short varieties. They may also may be getting too much water or not enough sun. They love full sun.
The bunnies eat the sunflowers also, when young, they eat all the leaves! BLARG. I want to grow for my kid but bunnies are everywhere here.
Thank you for this - very helpful
