Appreciation for A country song . Best to your family!
This is still one of my favorite songs. When I was about 16 years old, I dedicated this song to one of my most favorite people ever. His name was Don Gebhardt, owner of Gebhardt's grocery store in Dayton Ohio. He was such an amazing man. Anybody that knew him, was blessed to know him. He made such huge impact on my life and many others. He treated everybody with kindness and respect no matter your status in life. He was funny, smart, generous and rather energetic and protective for and old guy. He made such a difference in the community he worked in even though he didn't live there. He just passed away a few days ago in his 80's. There is so much I can say about him but I'd have to write a book.
His birthday is coming up in a few days on April 9th and I would like to dedicate this song to him again because I thought the world of him and still do. There's not many men like him.
My great grandfather died in 1995. He was 92. Which means he was 90 years old in 93. But my mama's mama was his oldest daughter
I love that song, reminds me of my granddad, he died in 1964 when I was little. He always wore overalls when he was puttering around outside. Randy Travis really knows how to get you to listen to the song he's singing, there's something very emotionally driven in how he sings his songs, they always tell a story. I'm glad you enjoyed it💕 Thanks for reacting to it!
Yeah I noticed everytime I listen to his music, he is telling a story and it's real and deep. Cherish the moments because you never know. We are not promised tomorrow. 🙏
RANY TRAVIS GOSPEL SONGS THROUGH THE FIRE AND I'M GOING TO RAISE HIM UP, THREE WOODEN CROSSES. "ANGELS" IS MY FAVORITE.
CAPS BAD EYESIGHT
This song is just precious! I felt the same about my grandpaw & my daddy, I miss them both very much.
God bless you and your family 👪 🙏 ❤. Thank you.
@@GoldenchicoreactsThank you & God bless you!
@@Goldenchicoreacts I'm only 16 and I lost my dad In 2018 he was only 48
He's talking about his great grandpa 😢
Reminds me of my Uncle Langston Farrish ( RIP). Your so right, it can apply to many people. I would include my Grandmother ( who raised me).
This song describes how I feel about my grandpa perfectly. May my grandpa R.I.P.
And great grandfather
To everyone that knew their grandfather, you are very lucky, I never knew mine he died when my dad was 13 .😢
Even thinking about this song gets me crying like a river. You look at any picture of my grandpa from when he was alive and there he was starch-white shirt buttoned at the neck with false teeth, and never outside without his hat. But, man... sometimes you just need to cry to get emotions built up out.
Men, trust me it is good for your soul to just let loose everyonce in a while.
My favorite from Randy Travis. He's amazing.
Great Grandfather, His grandfather on his mother's side was his oldest son.
"Believe" by Brooks and Dunn is beautiful, heartfelt music/story video about a young boy and his elder mentor...a video which really shouldn't be missed.
The song is about his Great Grandfather.
Very, very nice.
Thank you 😃👍
This song is about Randy Travis's great grandfather.
This reminds me of my dad. It's been 24 years and I still grieve to this day
The song is about his great-grandfather! (“my momma’s daddy was his oldest son”)
@TheMemphis5 His mom’s daddy would be his grandfather; and his father is his great grandfather, not his great, great.
Love Randy
The song is about his great grandpa
This song was written by one of our locals from Charleston/Calhoun Tennessee. His name is Allen Shamblin. We have a few great songwriters from this area. Gary Gentry is another, he wrote "The Ride" by David Alan Coe, " The Corvette Song" by George Jones and "1959" by John Anderson.
It was his great grandfather! His mothers fathers Dad
It was beautiful
Great video my friend! I'm a grown man and that song very quickly chokes me up... That is how I felt about my grandfather and why I named my son after him!
Love love this song! A classic! ❤️
The writer of this song also wrote two HUGE hits... Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me if You Don't" and Miranda Lambert's "The House that Built Me"... Allen Shamblin (who co-writes with an ex NFL football player, Mike Reid) is AMAZING... His songs always stick with me.....
Allen also wrote "Dont laugh at me" by Mark Wills and "Thinking Problem " by David Ball. Great songwriter!
@@Orangetitanfan Oh, yes! I saw him perform that (Don't Laugh at Me) at a singer songwriter night in Nashville too.... He's suuuuuuper talented!
Cincinnati Bengal Mike Reid. Amazing that people don't know his writing country was legendary.
Bonnie did that song justice. I have heard that Dolly Parton turned it down too.
I did know that they wrote this song. One of my favorite Randy Travis's songs.
It's his great grandfather
Great one Ninja
Appreciate it 🙏
Only one walked on water.
Actually he was his great grandfather
One of many great songs by Randy - ha always been in my top 10 favorites. it's hard to make a top 10 list there's so many songs that could be on it.
#facts but i managed to make one and every time i hear a new song or something i never heard of that touhes me i have to add it in my top 10. at this point i think i have a top 10,000,000 songs
His songs are precious. He had severe stroke. Thought he wasn't going to make it; asked wife if she wanted to pull the plug. she didn't .He can no longer sing like he did and much therapy God Bless Randy Travis & wife. There are documentaries about it.
Check it's a matter of time
I love that country artists love singing songs about cherishing family members. While I am really enjoying your trip down the immense rabbit hole of Randy Travis' music and don't want you to deter from it, another song about cherishing your grandfather is Grandpa Told Me So by Kenny Chesney. I am a new subscriber and am really glad that I found your channel.
I still have my daddy's halo 😇
One thing that always comes to mind is the message, of course, but also the family connection piece; there's such value in that. They both enjoyed one another; each giving the other a most priceless gift. For those who've lived it, know it, and for those who haven't got a little peek into how it used to be.
Thank you for your reaction in its sincerity! Have a fabulous day!
