It seems that listener to save ratio is one of the most important metric, as it seems to be a key factor in getting on release radar, so definitely worth measuring! On another point skip rate seems to be a really important metric, I dont know an easy / obvious way to get this - but if you use toneden, you can compare the number of conversions (to spotify) vs the number of streams. Say you got 200 conversions in one day, but you got 100 streams, then your skip rate is 50%.
Great point! I totally agree. Save ratio is something we can figure out, but skip rate is much tougher. I suppose the ToneDen way you outlined can be helpful, but it's tough to calculate it to include listeners coming to you through the platform as well, or listeners who liked your last song but might skip through the newest one. Maybe one day we'll get more insight into that. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Once when i checked, it said 36 people were listening right now, but a couple days later, it said i had only 17 monthly listeners, its pretty weird tbh
Would finding the save rate be more accurate if you divided the saves by the listeners instead of the streams in case someone saved it and streamed it a hundred times? Or is there something I’m missing?
Thanks, this is really useful! One thing came to my mind: don’t you think it makes more sense for the save rate to divide it by the amount of listeners instead of streams? One listener can only save your song once, so you’ll get a more accurate view on how many of the listeners saved your song. This way it stays accurate, even when people stream your song multiple times on one day.
@@tomdupreeiii like you requested for changing in artist name from Amuse...but on distrokid "Musician plan". Locked with old artist name.. can't add another artist or change it.....but after the change done by amuse ,then how distrokid will gonna change that locked artist name?
MAHESH Music oh ok I see. I have the musician plus plan so I didn’t run into that issue. Try removing your catalog from DistroKid under your old name and then contact support to have them allow you to switch over to the new name without taking up an additional artist slot.
If i change my distributer to routenote for example My name will be double right? If i distribute to amuse. So it will have a 3 the same artists name with my song Idk if this a problem
man the way you diving deep in the metrics is inspiring af. I would love that spreadsheet so I can start analysis of my fanbase on spotify, I would appreciate the plug.
Man thank you for saying that! And thanks for letting me know you want the spreadsheet. I will post it up in a pinned comment and add it to the video description as well!
I used Distrokid in the past, one cool thing that Distrokid has is that you can also be verified on youtube and have in less than a week your official music youtube channel
Nice video as always, Tom! I would like the template of the spreadsheet! Also, I noticed a really good bump on your followers in the last 28 days... Congratulations! And if you don't mind sharing, what was the cause for it? (I am assuming it was not the facebook ads alone, since you were running them for more time than that).
Hey thank you! I think I've definitely got enough interest in the spreadsheet at this point, so I will post it in a pinned comment and add it to the video description for sure. On the follower count, when I changed my artist name (ruclips.net/video/9Y5GIRUBv-k/видео.html) everything transferred over perfectly except my followers. I contacted Spotify last week and they switched them over for me. I didn't realize that was a request you could make until someone told me. So that was the cause for the big bump.
Man I do the save rate in my head and that's it! Thanks...there's a few new tricks you gave me. I think Spotify are holding out I wanna know who is streaming and how many times, not an average, a 1.7 stream rate is meaningless..Is that 10 ppl streaming twice and 24 only once..That tells me how liked the song is..I can use that to put out similar songs! Yeah I want the spreadsheet!
SYLLIUS awesome! Dude thanks for letting me know. I’m going to post it in a pinned comment and will include it in the video description as well. Thanks for watching!
Spotify has a Terrible Customer Service , when you ask questions or make enquiries about Fake Streams they do not reply to unknown Artists. They need to be Exposed for what they are. If you collect Fake streams by chance your Distributor Ditto Music for example ( Because this was what happened ) can take your Royalties then blame the Artist for using Fake streams when its all been Fabricated. Spotify is worst Music service for Unknown Artists trying to make their name. They also never pay the right amount streaming figures that they quote.
Hey guys. As promised, here is the link to access my Spotify release template from the video: social.tomdupreeiii.com/spotify-release-template. I hope it helps! (Also, P.S. I updated the save rate formula to reflect saves per listener instead of saves per stream; thanks to all who pointed that out) ✌🏻😎

Logan's Lessons someone else pointed this out too. Yes, I think you’re right. I’m going to shift that around. Thanks for the comment!
Tom DuPree III no problem man. I appreciate all of your advice and help on this and many other things! Hope you are doing well :)

Pyralid that’s a really good thought! I will start calculating that and see what happens. Thank you!
How you changed ur Spotify profile on distrokid ... after the artist name you changed from amuse????
I'm not sure I fully understand the question? Once my name was changed I didn't have to change it anywhere else. It updated everywhere.

No, your name shouldn't double. All of your songs should end up under the same profile if you use identical metadata.

Great work Tom. Wold love to see a video on pros and cons of putting your own song on endelss repeats to increase streams.
Hey thank you for watching! I think Spotify has a way of cracking down on that but I’ll look into it nonetheless. Thanks for the request!

Very cool! They cover all the bases!
I still don't have the official youtube music channel. Even though i already have 3 releases and I claimed my profile 2 weeks ago
@@AaronAAMusic that's strange, maybe I was lucky then!
