ive been in a slump for weeks now and ive been really behind on all my art work for school but for some reason you just inspired me to draw animals ???? which i never draw ??? anyway gr8 vid as always, luv the tigers, 10/10 art block advice hehe
This really helped, I can really relate to feeling like losing art. Just for me I feel like I can’t let it go because this really feels like this is the only thing for me. I’ve been trying to branch out more tho. And this helped affirm that I should keep going, so thank you!
I COMPLETELY understand! I think that why it is so important to let it go, because it feels like it’s all we have, which puts so much pressure on us to DO it all the time, which makes it harder to enjoy. Good luck branching out, I know you can do it!!!
One thing I do when I am stuck in an art block is, before I feel art block coming, I draw a lot of random stuff on canvas so that when I am in an art block, I dont have to worry about the difficult aspect of drawing but I can instead paint (:
I do something similar I’ll do loose marker sketches that I can refine later when I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to figuring out logistics or when I’m just really uninspired.
The tigers are gorgeous btw, and yes, this is a great way to get out of art block, I used to get art block that would cause me to fall into a slump for weeks, I fought back but it would just come back, I’ve learned to just sketch, great art, and enjoy it, it’s kind of my only way to fight it, but this helped! Thank you☺️
I haven't drawn one but during quarantine mainly due to depression and laziness, but right now I have trying to draw because I wanna embrace it in high school and you've really boosted my motivation! You've boosted my color theory and helped me so much so tysm al!
This is the best video I've seen on art block. I also suffered from a chronic art block from late 2017 until 2019 and it was miserable. Thanks for this vid! To anyone going through the same kid of art block, it will end!
Not pushing yourself too hard is the key for sure. Art should give you energy and joy not be a drain. Let it come when it comes and use what inspiration you have to create even if it's just a little at a time. There are so many ways to create!
waiwaiwaiwaiwaiwaiwait- This video from 00:00 to 17:05 is 100% relatable ????? like wtf when you talked about completely losing ur passion for art and having a period gravitating around art entirely was 100% me ? :'0
your videos feel so professional and freshening! i’m in a weird stage of art where i have so many ideas that my head hurts, but once i start drawing it doesn’t turn out how i envisioned. it’s super hard considering i have school and i want to DO is draw, but i’m trying my hardest to be experimental and study my favorite artists.
This helped SO MUCH. Literally. I kind of already had some of it in mind but hearing you literally saying it out loud just flipped some kind of switch. My work and general life has been pretty awful and hectic since beginning of 2020; and for the longest time I wasn't doing art at all, but obsessing over not being able to, first due to not having free time then literally as soon as I had free time I was like... pushing myself to be able to art; rather than dealing with my burnout. Earlier in the year I made the decision to kind of avoid my art instagram because I was getting to the point of stage fright before putting pencil to paper. Because I was so burnt out I didn't know what to draw and everything felt wrong, so I was having anxiety about posting my art before I'd even made a line. I just took a step back and tried to do other things; and although that nagging art block in my brain was still bouncing around in obsession mode. It wasn't until really recently, with letting myself be less perfect, filling up old sketchbooks in ballpoint pen, that I've been able to make some more art that opens it all up for me. And I'm just trying to take it as it comes.
Thank you sm for this vid! I've had art block since August of last year and now i know that I just need to step away for a bit, thanks for all the good tips. Really like that first tiger, so cute❤
Just finished my exams, sat down to draw, and then you uploaded! A remarkable day, indeed. I'm working on my fantasy world- so far I have three (3) characters and a half-done plot. Fingers crossed I'll make some progress :p
@@Lilstarnerd there was this one video I watched about worldbuilding sometime ago and they spoke about the worldbuilding in the Avatar universe, and I got hit by a wave of inspiration after that! And-this is random- yesterday I drew two of my ocs as witches and I just kinda went down the rabbit hole of magic and all that from there. Sorry for the huge comment-
Ahhhhh I’m early!!! I have art block rn so this really helps love you❤️😘 and also your editing style is really good and so aesthetic! My art goal is to work on more realist art
@@Lilstarnerd I know I’m so excited to try something new, I plan using tons and tons of references from Pinterest and I’m actually going to Hawaii in March for my b-day so I plan to just studying people and landscapes there.💕
When I have art block I just go back to basics drawing eyes, mouths etc. not focusing too hard on it being perfect. Even if I do it for 5 minutes I’ve drawn that day.
I love these tigers!! Also I really needed this today. Because of health issues I've been at a loss with motivation. I have drawn a little today so I see that as a win! Haha :D Hope things will be better soon. Have a lovely day!!

This video was so great! I experienced chronic art block sort of recently and the way you described it was EXACTLY how i felt then.
I needed thisssss

@@Lilstarnerd thank you ❤️❤️❤️
i think this is one of the most helpful videos on art block I've seen. It makes so much sense that sometimes art needs space from you xD
Your videos are so underrated!!
Wow this is very relatable... I thought i was the only one who has experience this.... thank you!!

i deal with art block by not calling it a block, i find that word oddly makes the situation worse for me and just adds more stress to it.
thank you so much for this. I needed it❤️

Oooh love that!!!! I’ve been very interested in fantasy worlds lately and want to create my own too!! Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I agree!
Luv u from India you inspire me so much❤️❤️❤️
I haven't done any kind of art for about....6 or 7 months? Not sure why, I stopped without planning to stop and now I don't know how to get back :'(
Mine are always in the ability sector. I enjoy seeing my brain forget how to draw...
Hey great video. Next time can you turn the background music down while you are speaking. So we can hear you better. Thank you for the video
Yes!! I definitely noticed the music was too loud but didn’t have time to fix it 😭😭 thanks for trooping through it haha
What sketchbook did you use?

I built a website for art block but I’m afraid to share it. I’m a new developer and it’s not amazing. Would anyone be interested in it?
Solid advice. Adding: be your gay best self.
