S & H Green Stamps. I also remember mom getting glasses and dish towels in powder laundry detergent. My mom collected those stamps, we found them in her dresser drawer after she passed away.
I'm older than you and yes, I remember the good old days. Food don't taste the same anymore. Yes, everyone ate fish on Fridays, we also had homemade iced tea and lemonade. I live in Florida and Hurricane season starts June 1st. We stay prepared. I'll cook some dinner meals next month and freeze them. Fish fry’s on the weekend. Playing outdoors until the streetlights came on. In my neighborhood, the elders looked out for you and didn’t have a problem calling your folks if they saw you acting up! Corner stores were you could buy real Now and Laters, pickles, penny cookies. Those were the days!
I don't like cats either. Love dogs though. I don't like fish or any kind of seafood. Everyone says mine taste so good. I would ve those little skinny franks or a burger. Piggly Wiggly still carries my ranks. Mmmm. Your fish looks great!!
Hi Tenn Nth, We had a power outage here in Ohio last Friday from about 10 P.m. until Sat about 2:p.m. , your meals always look so delicious even down to the fish and fries, Thank you for the memories, The food we use to get ,we will never see those days again, I opened a can of salmon it had 2 vertebrae scrambled salmon, so different now, I love your talks, brings back many memories.

You took me back to my childhood tonight! My church used to have Fish Fry Fridays after church when I was a kid, I couldn’t concentrate on the church service for waiting to eat 😂. We ate out the red plastic oval baskets that had the sides open. Oh yes; the Stamps, for us on the West Coast it was “Blue chip” stamps. I remember my oldest sister stacking them up to go the Blue chip store. It’s funny how something so simple, can be so exciting. Those were the days when life wasn’t so complicated, we were just kids enjoying life with the simple things. We collected the S&W Stamps. My mom had eight girls and four boys. As kifs we would take the S&W catalog and sit for hours looking at that catalog wishing, knowing mama wasn't going to let us pick what to buy with those stamps, still it was fun.
My mom called them trying stamps and helped getting extra things..I remember jelly jars ..we still use jelly and mason jars to drink out of..do you rember the metal glasses in shiny colors..they kept dri KS so cold that for the company on lonesome nights. God bless

You really took me back to my childhood with the fish and fries with "light" bread and hot sauce. I'm around your age...I will be 57 this October. I remember the metal drinking glasses, the S&H green stamps, and the Kool Aid. Those were great memories.

Mrs Tennessee North I'm watching the replay and yes Kool-aid was our thing to drink back in the day. My mother had 7 children and there was always Kool-aid in the house. To this day when I have fried catfish I have to have Kool-aid. I love your videos because they aways remind me of my mom. 😊😊
