    It is so refreshing to see a girl in your generation undertaking such big and wonderful DIY projects. This is from a Gen-X woman who enjoyed doing similar project long ago, but they were not this big. You go girl! There's no limit to what you can do.

    I love that emerald green. At least that's what my computer screen makes it look like. Covering the base with the same fabric, was definitely a brilliant idea. As you said, it makes it look very high end and it eliminates the need for a bed skirt. Awesome job.

      Aww thanks 😊. It is like a emerald green color. The color is very pretty and yes the base looks like part of the whole bed.

    So i did the headboard panels years ago but never thought about covering my box spring! Like duh why didn’t I think of that lol. I was considering buying an actual bed frame and headboard for this reason but now i don’t have to! Thank you!!

    Amazing work .Just a thought , if I were to run out of fabric , I would have created a overlap on the other side of the base too , so that it looks deliberate and symmetrical

    This is the neatest DIY headboard I've seen. Thanks so much for your tips and tricks on how to keep it looking neat and professional. By the way, how did you get it to stand up against the wall?

      Thank you!!! The wood pieces that I screwed in the back actually helps it stand up. Once it was upright to where I wanted it, I simply pushed my bed against it and it hasn’t moved since. My queen bed comes about half way up so that helps as well for the headboard to stay up. I didn’t use any wall hangings to secure it though. Additionally the wood I used for the individual channels is pretty thick and I believe that also helps it stand tall. I hope this answers your question ☺️.

      Omggg I definitely like the fabric I used from hobby lobby. It didn’t tear during my project!! They also have lighter colors in this type of fabric. Also lookout for their 30% off fabric sale. That is when I got mine ☺️

    Great DIY work, I’m abit late in saying this but maybe a tip for next time, when upholstering the base you could have the fabric folded up and over so you are stapling the back then fold it back down so you can’t see the staples. 👍

      I leaned the headboard against the wall and pushed my bed against it. I didn’t install it or attach it to my bed with screws/ nails. It is free standing and hasn’t moved once. Hopefully this gives you an idea.

      i didn't join. i leaned the headboard against the wall and pushed my box spring and mattress against the standing headboard and it has not moved since. the head board is pretty heavy and comes half way up from the height of my bed.
