In today's video, we try to bring the R32 GTR back from hibernation. We are having strange issue where the car is reading low voltage and not charging the battery. We swapped in an OEM battery previously and that didnt work. One of you guys suggested that we run an LS alternator, so today, that's what we try!

Dash voltage reading should match reading at battery. If seeing a voltage drop it's either a grounding issue or a wire size/connection issue. Minor drop is acceptable, but you shouldn't be seeing more than .1-.2v difference
The face Dut makes when he drives the r32 is a face of pure joy, so glad its back
I got a 180 AMP High Output Alternator from DC Power Engineering. Direct bolt on & works like a champ. Oh and you guys called me a day after the giveaway and my heart skipped a beat, turns out you were just updating me on some shipping details for some stuff I ordered lol.
I also did the ls alternator on my 32 gtr and was an awesome upgrade. I would look into why your dash is saying that low of a voltage compared to the actual voltage. Should definitely be around 13.6-14.0 when driving.
Yeah PRP wanted like $700 for the whole kit. I recommend just buying the PRP bracket kit and an alternator from a local shop. I only had to spend $500 total(Every dollar counts these days).

I think because the diffuser wasn't how you planned it looked to be on the r32 maybe you should get rear spats like what Randy has on his r32. I think it'll complete the rear end.

I went with a nissan quest alternator with minor modifications to the oem bracket, but glad to see yours up and going with the ls one

GM alternators just kick ass. My old gto had charging issues with the factory spec 60-amp alternator and i upgraded to one from the early to mid 90’s bubble chevy impalas, those fuckers are 200-amp alternators. No charging issues for like 25 years now lol

Dust, i think you still have an issue with your electric power issue. Cause any vehicle will have a stamby volt of 12.4 to 12.8Volts with a good or new battery. When your run the engine on it will go up to 13v up then it will steady to 14.2 or 14.3 volts.

You can also use a Nissan Tiida alt, it's 120 Amp.

Those model alternators were made by Mitsubishi for GM lol. I'd say it's more Japanese than American. Have the same one in my GTO.
