All are Democratic run cities and police will tell you we are ordered not to investigate misdemeanors or give tickets to anyone not likely to pay fines or show up in court. So many great cities now are just havens for criminals who have no fear of being arrested. Look for lots of spray painted buildings, bums hanging out all day on steets and you will find such a city with a lazy police force and open drug sales.

@0:25, “We’re short staffed, and have to focus on violent crimes” said the SFPD. Cops are known to be serial liars. Here, more so as they’re protecting their personal turf. SF has been union town for more than 5 decades. That translates into overpaid, overstaffed, and under- perform police force. Just as the UAW created overpaid, lazy, inept, and indifferent auto workers who built sloppy cars that ultimately handed the US auto industry to the Japanese and Germans, the SF police labor union created overpaid, lazy, stupid, and indifferent cops who handed SF to smash-and-grab criminals, thieves, robbers, burglars, traffickers, and vandals. The powerful SF police labor union prevents the firing of SF cops. Consequently, SF cop’s expedient goal is a moving far away from the crime ridden SF and retiring on the generous police retirement pension.

Like how many years? They certainly take a long time if no one is doing anything. SFPD should pursue these criminals. They clearly know that they will not be chased, and so there is zero deterrent. Ok if there aren't enough cops Why can't the city create a department that takes care of this? That helps people report/track/recover their stolen goods? It's not like it's cheap to live in SF to say there's no resources, why can't the authorities delegate these tasks?

I commend city of San Francisco for not doing police chase. All law enforcement should follow San Francisco.

Last year on Chestnut I saw a moving truck getting looted, but a block later saw 6 SFPD officers attending to a homeless guy. I stopped to tell the officers so they could stop the vehicle being looted, but the one who spoke to me was angry at my presence and said he’d look into it. I stopped on the corner and watched. They did nothing!

did they hug and console the unhoused individual ? that's the real priority here in SF

@@jannyzhingaz9562 No. I don’t know what the story was with the homeless guy before I arrived, but all 6 of the cops stood over the homeless guy whilst a new arrival to the city was looted.

If the police is not responding to it . You gotta stop leaving stuff in your vehicle. Rental cars are prime target.

      Nope
Gotta stop visiting, or even driving through SF.
That's why those folks must be wheeling shopping carts around downtown with all their stuff in it.

All the evidence handed to them and they can’t do anything about it? We need new a sfpd that would do the job.

Funny thing, the police wants communities to step up and come forward and help close cases

"Ask again later." SFPD Magic 8-Ball answer.
Took SF off the list of places to revisit,
now as attractive as a radar-trap.
